Amazon inconsistent banning books - preferences LGBTQ agenda

Image
On July 8, my publisher informed me that my book  Desires in Conflict ,  along with a number of other books on overcoming homosexuality by different authors, had been pulled off the Amazon.com catalog. A gay activist had worked for months to convince Amazon to take this action and, bolstered by 80,000 signatures on a petition, his wish had been granted. (See  here .) Before venting, I’ll admit to some admiration for any guy who gets 80,000 people to support a cause, then persuades a corporate giant like Amazon to seal the deal. Regardless, the purge is on, and only the most naïve will expect it to stop with us. Folks like me who profess that homosexuality need not be a life sentence will be among the first to feel the ax of cultural banishment, that Yellow Star imposed before the horror really kicks off. Look for more of our books to be burned and for more of us to be muzzled. But don’t kid yourself into thinking the mob will stop there. Heck, we’re just the...

The truth about so-called ‘conversion therapy’

Image
In light of the latest attack on sexual orientation change efforts (SOCE), namely, Amazon’s  banning of books  on the subject, we do well to separate fact from fiction.  Are these change efforts really so dangerous? Should they be banned and even criminalized? According to the critics, “conversion therapy” is dangerous and harmful because it tries to change something that cannot be changed, akin to trying to change a lefthanded person into a righthanded person.  As expressed in California’s  SB 1172 , which was signed into law in 2012 and criminalized SOCE for minors,  “Sexual orientation change efforts pose critical health risks to lesbian, gay, and bisexual people, including confusion, depression, guilt, helplessness, hopelessness, shame, social withdrawal, suicidality, substance abuse, stress, disappointment, self-blame, decreased self-esteem and authenticity to others, increased self-hatred, hostility and blame toward parents, feelings of a...

Amazon bans books on gay ‘conversion therapy’. Is the Bible next?

Image
In a very disturbing move, Amazon has removed the books of Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, the psychologist whom critics have dubbed “the father of conversion therapy.” In other words, for claiming that change is possible for those who experience unwanted same-sex attraction, Dr. Nicolosi’s books must be banned. This leads to the logical question: Will Amazon ban the Bible next? There is no hyperbole here. After all, it is the Bible that condemns same-sex relationships and the Bible that speaks of those who once practiced homosexuality but do so no more (see 1 Corinthians 6:9-11). These people, today, would be known as “ex-gays.” And it was Dr. Nicolosi’s life work to help people with unwanted same-sex attractions. Why, then, should Amazon ban his books but continue to sell the Bible, which provides the theological underpinnings for Dr. Nicolosi’s scientific work? After all, gay critics of the Bible refer to the so-called “clobber passages,” referring to verses which have been used to speak aga...

Google, Amazon try to stop Texas from passing religious freedom protections

Image
A coalition of business interests is descending on Texas lawmakers to pressure them to abandon several pieces of pending legislation that would protect various professionals in the state from being forced to engage in practices that violate their consciences on issues such as abortion and sexuality. The Texas Legislature is currently considering a handful of religious-freedom bills, the Austin American-Statesman reports. They would bar state licensing agencies from limiting professionals’ ability to act on a “sincerely held religious belief,” let medical professionals refuse to provide non-emergency treatments such as abortions, let Texans choose not to provide goods, services, or participation to same-sex “weddings,” let judges refuse to perform “marriages” that conflict with their religious beliefs, protect businesses’ right to segregate bathrooms based on biological sex, and allow religious groups including university organizations limit hiring, renting, or membership to indi...

Amazon adds special LGBT facts to virtual assistant Alexa for sinful ‘Pride’ month

Image
Amazon is among the many companies signalling their support for the homosexual agenda, by updating their Alexa smart speaker with a collection of special “facts” for LGBT Pride Month. SINFUL HOMOSEXUAL PRIDE MARCH SUPPORTED BY AMAZON The internet-connected voice assistant device now offers more than 90 items on “queer history, politics, arts, and entertainment” in response to “Alexa, tell me a Pride fact,” Pink News reports . The move is the result of a collaboration between the company’s LGBT employee group Glamazon and the left-wing lobbying group Human Rights Campaign (HRC). The new information includes statistics such as the number of countries that recognize same-sex “marriage” and trivia such as the release of the first LGBT pride flag (1978), as well as thinly-veiled advertising for HRC, highlighting events such as its yearly Time to THRIVE Conference and National Coming Out Day. SINFUL HOMOSEXUAL PRIDE MARCH SUPPORTED BY AMAZON “The partnership is an exciting opportun...
