Mississippi Supreme Court to decide if boy’s legal ‘biological’ parents are two lesbians

Image
The Mississippi Supreme Court heard arguments last week about whether a boy born to a lesbian couple should be legally considered the biological son of his mother's female partner.  Because of the nature of the child’s conception and the relationship of the adults in his life, the story is complicated.   The two women who were “married” chose to have a child that would be conceived in one of them via anonymous sperm donation .  The boy is now six years old. His mother’s “ex-spouse,” who helped raise the child from birth, sought to be recognized as a biological parent when the two women divorced.   “Kimberly Strickland Day, was impregnated through assisted reproduction technology whereby donor sperm was combined with her harvested egg and the embryo surgically implanted,”  reports  the Jackson, Mississippi Clarion Ledger . “The couple separated in 2013, and their divorce was finalized last year.  A Mississippi court granted the first same-...

Judge forces mom to give her baby to homosexual couple: the latest case of surrogacy’s folly

Image
A convoluted custody dispute over an artificially conceived child has left the mother bereft and homosexual and Christian activists at loggerheads. The case of "H versus S" ended when the 44-year-old mother, "S," breastfed her 15-month old child for the last time in the courthouse cafeteria and handed him over to the waiting sperm donor dad, "H," and his homosexual partner. Both Romanian immigrants, H and S were also longtime friends who had informally agreed to conceive a child artificially together using a home insemination kit. But the relationship broke down, the mother denied the father and his lover parenting rights, and the courts took over. The judge who ruled on the appeal in the homosexual couple's favor, Alison Russell, has used the case to call for legislation, as in the United States, forcing those involved in surrogacy arrangements to agree to formal legal contracts. "The UK however does not have such an approach in...

British gvmt to fund sperm bank for lesbians and single women

Image
English: The Daily Mail clock, just off Kensington High Street (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) British taxpayers will soon be on the hook for a sperm bank that will allow lesbian and single mothers to create children without the involvement of a father. As  reported  by  The Daily Mail , for approximately $500 women will be able to find anonymous sperm donors . The database will allow searches for a variety of characteristics, including ethnicity, weight, religion, and hobbies. The sperm bank is being funded by over $120,000 in taxpayer dollars, in addition to approximately $200,000 given to the National Gamete Donation Trust (NGDT). While critics such as Rochester ’s former Anglican bishop , Michael Nazir-Ali , say the bank puts the welfare of the child second to preferences of parents, NGDT's chief executive said that the bank is responding to demand from "same-sex couples and single women." Laura Witjens also said that "it’s become more socially acceptable ...

If Gay Marriage is approved More children would grow up fatherless.

Cover via Amazon This harm is closely related to the previous one, but worth noting separately. As more children grow up without a married mother and father, they will be deprived of the tangible and intangible benefits and security that come from that family structure. However, most of those who live with only one biological parent will live with their mothers. In the general population, 79% of single-parent households are headed by the mother, compared to only 10% which are headed by the father.52 Among homosexual couples, as identified in the 2000 census, 34% of lesbian couples have children living at home, while only 22% of male couples were raising children.53 The encouragement of homosexual relationships that is intrinsic in the legalization of same-sex “marriage” would thus result in an increase in the number of children who suffer a specific set of negative consequences that are clearly associated with fatherlessness. Homosexual activists say that having both a mother and a...
