Google, Amazon try to stop Texas from passing religious freedom protections

Image
A coalition of business interests is descending on Texas lawmakers to pressure them to abandon several pieces of pending legislation that would protect various professionals in the state from being forced to engage in practices that violate their consciences on issues such as abortion and sexuality. The Texas Legislature is currently considering a handful of religious-freedom bills, the Austin American-Statesman reports. They would bar state licensing agencies from limiting professionals’ ability to act on a “sincerely held religious belief,” let medical professionals refuse to provide non-emergency treatments such as abortions, let Texans choose not to provide goods, services, or participation to same-sex “weddings,” let judges refuse to perform “marriages” that conflict with their religious beliefs, protect businesses’ right to segregate bathrooms based on biological sex, and allow religious groups including university organizations limit hiring, renting, or membership to indi...

Drag Queen Storytime: Convicted pedophile, dressed as a woman, reads to kids at public library

Image
A pro-family activist group has uncovered the truth about the pedophile past of a drag queen who reads to young children at a public library’s “Drag Queen Storytime.” Thirty-two-year-old Albert Garza is a  registered sex offender  who was convicted of assaulting an eight-year-old boy in 2008, yet that has not hindered him from dressing in garish women’s clothing, calling himself “Tatiana Mala Nina,” and performing in front of kids.    When the story broke, one  news site  suggested an alternative name for “Drag Queen Storytime,” with a  headline  that blared, “Pederast Story Hour in Houston.” When the Freed-Montrose Public Library failed to respond to inquiries by  Houston MassResistance , the activist group – which had been protesting the program – conducted its own investigation into the background of the drag queens as well as the way in which “Drag Queen Storytime” is conducted. They ended up compiling a  detailed 163-...

Christians attacked by Extremists Trans Rights in Texas Government

Image
Texas, far-right LGBQ and trans extremists groups, continue their attack on normal Christians in Texas legislator. These faith-based entities represent a majority of Texans, but LGBT zealots are reaching to the heights of the state government and intentionally skewing the perception of how Christians view homosexuality. In late January, Representative Bill Zedler, a Republican from Arlington, filed House Bill 1035, known as the “ Free to Believe Act ,” a bill essentially protecting Christians from the aggressive zealotry of LGBTQ people screaming discrimination. Zedler should be commended for raising HB 1035 against LGBT people who intend to belittle any opposition, call them haters then take them to court. TVA has argued that the new bills are an attack on religious freedom and denounced them as “Ban the Bible bills” preventing “the free expression of Biblical beliefs, especially it's teaching on marriage and sexuality.” Hence Zedler is correct in presenting his bill. But Dian...

It’s ‘verbal abuse’ for mom to insist her 6-year-old son is really a ‘girl’

Image
Whoever coined the phrase about sticks and stones breaking bones but words being harmless must have lived an isolated life. I’ve endured some painful physical events, not the least of which was giving birth. But some of the verbal attacks leveled against me have left emotional scars that still sting more than any physical scab. Words matter; words are powerful. Words can harm or heal. Who hasn’t been the victim of verbal assaults such as gossip or of outright invective? But one can also fall prey to a subtler form of verbal abuse: an inappropriate suggestion. A Mother Who Wants Her Son to be Her Daughter Six-year-old James, a first-grader living in Texas, is on the receiving end of repeated suggestions from one of the two most influential persons in his life—his mother—that  he really is a girl . And many, I included, argue that James’ mother’s repeated suggestions are inappropriate and harmful. James was born as a boy, fully, completely, biologically male—just as was his...

Austin city council says ‘values’ require forcing churches to hire LGBT employees

Image
Churches have no right to insist on employees that accept and practice their faith’s teachings on homosexuality, according to Austin officials defending an “anti-discrimination” ordinance currently being challenged by two socially conservative groups. The  local ordinance  guarantees “the opportunity for each person to obtain employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, or disability.” It contains an exception for “an employer to hire and employ employees” if one’s sexual orientation or gender identity is a “bona fide occupational qualification reasonably necessary for the normal operation of a particular business or enterprise,” as well as religious entities’ right to “hire and employ individuals of a particular religion.” But it doesn’t expressly state that a church’s beliefs about such issues qualify. In a  federal lawsuit  filed against the city, the Houston-based U.S. Pastor Council...

Grandmother Refused to attend Homosexual Wedding with her flowers - Appeals to U.S. Supreme Court

Image
Grandmother Barronelle Stutzman , the Washington State florist found guilty of violating the state’s antidiscrimination law by refusing to provide flowers for a homosexual couple’s wedding, is appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court . Stutzman, the owner of Arlene’s Flowers in Richland, filed her petition with the high court Friday. She is represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom. The Washington State Supreme Court in February unanimously upheld the Benton County Superior Court’s ruling that this grandmother violated state law by refusing to bullied into providing floral arrangements for the immoral wedding of openly gay and aggressive Ingersoll and Freed in 2013. The government then threatened her business and chose to bully her as an example and fined her $1,000.  Grandmother Stutzman has said her refusal was based on her Christian beliefs about marriage, not antigay animus, and that the state court rulings violate her freedom of speech and religion. “Rob Ingersoll and ...

Homosexual Spouses May Not Be Entitled to Workplace Benefits in Texas

Image
Homosexual spouses may not be entitled to government-subsidized workplace benefits, the Texas Supreme Court ruled Friday in a unanimous decision that was quickly condemned by immoral homosexual groups. The court overturned a lower court's decision that favored homosexual marriage benefits, ordering the issue back to trial. Those concerned for the country hope the case will help them ultimately destroy away the false and unbalanced U.S. Supreme Court's ruling legalizing immoral homosexual marriage. Homosexual groups ranted and raved about the ruling as an "absurd distortion" of the illegitimate law regarding homosexual marriage. But homosexual groups keep pushing their illogical one liners - Marriage is marriage and equal is equal - but not according to biology, commonsense and history. Friday's decision was a major reversal for the all-Republican Texas high court, which previously refused to even consider the benefits case after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled t...

California bans travel to states that protect Christians who oppose gay ‘marriage’

Image
The state of California has ordered a travel ban for its government employees to states that have adopted laws to protect religious freedom. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra , a pro-abortion Democrat, has  unilaterally prohibited all state-sanctioned trips  to Alabama , Kentucky, South Dakota , and Texas because those states have passed legislation allowing those who uphold natural marriage and biological gender to live by their sincerely-held beliefs. Becerra’s actions are designed to pressure target states to abandon religious freedom laws protecting Christians who oppose sodomy and/or disagree with gender theory.   The latest four additions bring California’s “No Visiting List” to eight states in the lower 48, or eight percent of the country. Becerra noted his reasons for adding the four states: Alabama enacted a law in May that allows Christian adoption agencies to follow their faith’s moral criteria for placing children in homes. Their ...

Children of Homosexual parents disadvantaged - study

Image
In a historic study of children raised by homosexual parents, sociologist Mark Regnerus of the University of Texas at Austin has overturned the conventional academic wisdom that such children suffer no disadvantages when compared to children raised by their married mother and father. Just published in the journal  Social Science Research , [1] the most careful, rigorous, and methodologically sound study ever conducted on this issue found numerous and significant differences between these groups--with the outcomes for children of homosexuals rated "suboptimal" (Regnerus' word) in almost every category. The Debate Over Homosexual Parents In the larger cultural, political, and legal debates over homosexuality, one significant smaller debate has been over homosexual parents. Do children who are raised by homosexual parents or caregivers suffer disadvantages in comparison to children raised in other family structures--particularly children raised by a married mothe...

Texas AG confronts Target over transgender restrooms after another woman is videotaped in changing room

Image
Another woman has said a man recorded as she changed her clothes inside a dressing room inside a Target store in Texas . The woman is the second to report that experience in Texas alone since Target reiterated its national gender-neutral restroom and changing room policy. A   Frisco, Texas, woman   says a man caught her on video while changing on May 3. "You don't think something like that is going to happen," the latest victim told the Dallas News . "Right now I just don't feel comfortable going back,” she added, referring to the Target location on Abrams Road. The repeated victimization of women by male voyeurs spurred state Attorney General Ken Paxton to write the company’s chairman. "After this latest incident, I hope Target finally recognizes the importance of protecting its customers, especially in environments where they can be at their most vulnerable,” said Paxton, who is also the lead plaintiff in a multi-state lawsuit against the...
