Mississippi Supreme Court to decide if boy’s legal ‘biological’ parents are two lesbians

The Mississippi Supreme Court heard arguments last week about whether a boy born to a lesbian couple should be legally considered the biological son of his mother's female partner.  Because of the nature of the child’s conception and the relationship of the adults in his life, the story is complicated.   The two women who were “married” chose to have a child that would be conceived in one of them via anonymous sperm donation .  The boy is now six years old. New York Court Affirms Confused Immoral Three-Way Lesbian Ruling

A New York judge granted custody to each of the three once-throupled parents of a 10-year-old boy last week, further cementing the state’s reputation as a place where queer families can grow, thrive, and stay together. Two of the parents, Dawn and Michael Marano of Long Island, got married in 1994. Around 2001, their downstairs neighbor, Andrea Garcia, joined their relationship and soon moved in. Dawn Marano was infertile, so when the three decided to have a kid together, Michael Marano and Garcia stepped up to be the biological parents. After a year and a half of parenting the boy together, Dawn Marano and Garcia left Michael to be a twosome; Dawn sued Michael for divorce in 2011. Garcia and Michael have since shared custody , but the boy lives with Garcia and Dawn, who are no longer romantically involved. UK girls’ schools instructed not to call students ‘girls’: could offend transgender students

Teachers at a conference for UK girls' schools last week were instructed to call students “pupils” instead of “girls” so as to avoid offending the gender-confused. A group called Gendered Intelligence made the recommendation at the Summer 2016 Briefing of the Girls’ Schools Association (GSA), which represents the heads of many of the top independent day and boarding schools in the UK.   Gendered Intelligence is a non-profit that provides “trans awareness training for all sectors and educational workshops for schools, colleges, Universities and other educational settings” and specializes in “supporting young trans people aged 8-25,” according to its website. Gendered Intelligence delivers presentations on transgenderism to UK schoolchildren   as young as four   and runs a London youth group for children starting at age eight. “Some people feel like using she/her pronouns sometimes and he/him pronouns at other times,” Gendered Intelligence’s website explains, ...
