Christians muzzled by pro LGBT RA

Image
Christian Wallabies players have blasted Rugby Australia, saying they 'felt muzzled' and were not allowed to publicly support their teammate Israel Folau before he was sacked for posting homophobic messages to Instagram. Senior Wallabies Sekope Kepu and Samu Kerevi both supported Folau after his social media posts about homosexuals being condemned to hell when they died. Folau's lucrative contract was torn up by Rugby Australia boss Raelene Castle before he launched legal action and reached a multi-million dollar settlement in December.   Kerevi and Kepu wrote affidavits submitted to the Federal Circuit Court of Australia in support of Folau in November, which were later obtained by The Australian.  In the documents both men state they were 'muzzled' by Rugby Australia when they felt they were prevented from speaking with the media over the Folau saga.  'My perception was that the media was briefed to approach people who would toe the 'anti-Isra...

Aussie teammates ‘blocked’ from supporting Israel Folau

Image
Senior Australian rugby players felt unable to publicly support teammate Israel Folau due to pressure from the sport’s governing body, according to an Australian newspaper.  Folau’s playing contract was terminated over a social media post quoting the Bible.  He later reached a settlement with Rugby Australia (RA) and received an apology. Support It has been reported that senior internationals Sekope Kepu and Samu Kerevi submitted statements in support of Folau to the Federal Circuit Court of Australia in November. But both players felt that they were prevented from speaking to the media about the case by RA. Kerevi wrote that Folau was being punished for simply “expressing his faith” and the treatment was inconsistent with discipline for other players. He added: “At the time I wanted to support Israel publicly. I couldn’t because the players were told by management not to comment on the issue.” Religious beliefs RA chief Raelene Castle has denied the claims....

Israel Folau: Rival team threatens court over Bible social media post

Image
A rugby league team says it will consider suing a rival club over the signing of a player who put a Bible-based post on Instagram.  Israel Folau called on people to repent of their sins in a post which quoted from Galatians.  He was sacked by Rugby Australia, but later reached a settlement and received an apology. ‘Reputational damage’ Last month French team Catalans Dragons – who play in the English Super League – signed Folau.  Now, rival team Hull KR has contacted the Dragons warning of legal action if it suffers “financial loss”. “For example, if title sponsor withdraws, or external investment is not secured, or quantifiable reputational damage is caused to the brand of Super League and its members”, it said.  Hull KR’s owner wrote: “I reserve my position to take proceedings v Catalans Dragons.” Inconsistency BBC sports editor Dan Roan said he had been told that “nearly all” the twelve Super League clubs have now backed the stance. The hostile moves ...

Gay activists and Israel Folau

Image
Israel Folau says he feels “vindicated” after  reaching a settlement  with Rugby Australia on Wednesday. Rugby Australia and Rugby NSW also apologized to Israel for sacking him and any “hurt or harm” the firing caused. “We started this journey on behalf of all people of faith, to protect their rights of freedom of speech and religion,” Folau said in a video posted on his  website . “We now look forward to the federal government enacting the legislation necessary to further protect and strengthen these rights for all Australians.” “We are extremely pleased with the settlement reached today,” Folau continued. “With today’s acknowledgment and apology by Rugby Australia, we have been vindicated and can now move on with our lives to focus on our faith and our family.” Watch the video: “I believe in a God that’s in control of all things. Whatever His will is, whether that’s to continue playing or not, I’m more than happy to do what He wants me to do.” ...

Did Israel Folau actually misquote the Bible? Hell, no

Image
John Tait B.Sc (Ed), M.Theol is a Melbourne writer and states in the Sydney Morning Herald :  Did Israel Folau actually misquote the Bible? Hell, yes John then gives us his credentials:  "As a former biblical studies major, and now agnostic it annoys me when Christians distort a biblical passage to preach their message"  What is John talking about?  John claim is this: Israel Folau has twisted Galatians 5:19-21 to say homosexuals will go to hell.  John then makes a second claim:  "Those who defend Folau by saying that he is just quoting the Bible are wrong. He is doing more than just throwing biblical quotes around. He is misusing this biblical passage by projecting judgments about homosexuality and "modern" beliefs about hell into it." Did Israel twist Galatians 5:19-20 to include homosexuality? What do these verses say? Galatians 5:19-20 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcr...

How LGBTQ twist speech to hate speech

Image
“Hate speech” needs to be defined with respect to the Israel Folau saga.  It can be defined as “abusive or threatening speech or writing against a particular group”, but as with many other terms that have been hijacked by LGBT ideology, this is also equated to hating the person or group to whom the speech or writing is addressed – even if not to a specific person or group but simply expressed as a point of view or belief in something. Best illustrated (still) by the lawyer in the 2002 “two Dannys case” who said in effect “it doesn’t matter that what you said is true – not even when you have quoted from the Koran – it is how you made my client feel.” Hate was not an issue in that instance and is not an issue now with Israel Folau. Nor is abuse, nor personal threat.  A term that would better reflect what the LGBT lobby accuses him of would be “speech that may result in a listener feeling offended or hurt”. It can be shortened to “speech that may result in hurt” or “s...

Rugby Australia admits Folau was sacked because Raelene Castle views parts of the Bible as akin to hate speech

Image
Just like a game of Rugby Union, the Folau Affair turns out to have two halves, with the revelation by News Corp journalist Miranda Devine that Raelene Castle (head of Rugby Australia) believed an accurate Bible quote would have been grounds for sacking the footballer. Castle’s comments in his code of conduct hearing are a game-changer because she admitted that it is the Bible itself which is the problem.   “West asked Castle: ‘What if Mr. Folau had photocopied passages from the Bible and simply posted that on his social media pages, would that have caused a problem for you?’ “Castle replied: ‘I think it depends on which ones – which pages he photocopied.’ “West asked: ‘If he’d photocopied the passages that are referred to in the posts, would that have caused a problem for you?’ ‘Yes, it would have,’ Castle said.”  Castle’s comments in his code of conduct hearing are a game-changer because she admitted that it is the Bible itself which is the problem. A te...

Penny Wong (lesbian in ssm) claims Israel Folau faith is wrong

Image
Penny Wong is a Labor Senator for the Australian Government. She is a lesbian woman in fake homosexual marriage to another woman with a child. She claims to be a Christian. Here is her statement to Israel Folau. Israel Folau is a footballer and Christian. He was sacked because he posted on Facebook a quote from 1 Corinthians 6.  Raelene Cole CEO of Rugby Australia sacked him for quoting the Bible but in particular, was offended by God including homosexuality as a sin that prohibits eternal life.   1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  Verse 11 then says:  And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and...

You can’t sack someone … because he expressed a Bible belief

Image
You can’t sack someone … because he expressed a belief Israel Folau saga has unleashed “Christian culture wars”, triggering a fightback against big business and its increasing push to control how workers behave in their private lives, a leading employment lawyer has warned. Why because he quoted on his personal tweet the Bible.  Josh Bornstein, who heads Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, the largest employment law firm in the country, says corporations have become so obsessed with their own “brand management” they were demanding impossibly high “levels of impeccable behavior”. Mr Bornstein said Rugby Australia, still had no business sacking him for “his Christian views”. He said “broad and vague” codes of conduct and contractual obligations were being imposed on employees to make them abide by company policies and values. But they also extended to employees’ behavior outside the workplace. You can’t sack someone … because he expressed a belief That meant workers could ...

Sam Clench incorrectly judges Israel Folau tweet

Image
“I’m hoping for an apology. I’d be happy with that,” Israel Folau told reporters outside the Fair Work Commission in Sydney yesterday. But Sam Clench states Folau must apologize because clench believes Folau words from God stated in 1 Corinthians 6 are hurtful. Clench having no understanding of scripture and having not read the complete tweet simply focuses on the sin of homosexuality and says it is hurtful.  Yet Clench doesn't speak about the wicked, idolaters, thieves, greedy, drunkards slanders (that would include him) swindlers (Nigerian scams) ...will not inherit God's kingdom.  Clench states: "And that is the fundamental problem here. Folau honestly does not believe he said anything hateful. In fact, he thinks the exact opposite." Correct, like a parent warning a child not to touch a hot stove, Folau quotes 1 Corinthians 6 and warns a range of sins prevents us from God's kingdom. This is an expression of love. But because the LGBTQ movement has t...

Footballer posts 1 Corinthians 6 - then get sacked

Image
Rugby Australia chairman Cameron Clyne has unloaded on Israel Folau while defending his organisation’s decision to terminate the ex-Wallaby’s contract because of a tweet. But his comments conflict with RA Ralene Cole's comments and clearly display Clyne has completely mismanaged this growing religious war and he doesn't understand the dynamics of the situation.  Israel Folua posted 1 Cor 6 which lists sinners who reject Christ go to Hell and encouraged by the love of Jesus to call many to repentance.....then he got sacked. In an interview with Nine newspapers after the two parties failed to reach an agreement over the former Wallaby’s sacking in Sydney on Friday, Clyne said the game had no other option. “(The alternative] would be that we’d have no sponsors at all because no sponsor has indicated they would be willing to be associated with social media posts of that sort and that includes government, because we’ve also heard from them,” he said.   Which Government...

Sack Christians and promote homosexuality

Image
SACK CHRISTIANS & PROMOTE HOMOSEXUALITY: RUGBY AUSTRALIA Cameron Clyne broke his silence to whine about the fact his shambolic outfit (Rugby Australia) is embroiled in a religious war after sacking superstar Wallaby Israel Folau for posting a biblical quote about sin and homosexuality on Instagram.  “There is nothing good about the place we’re in but the scenario in which we waive that breach through would be far worse. I would also say that we didn’t bring this situation on. We didn’t press send on this [post],” he told Nine. He desires to not offend homosexuals and limit private texts from his players. RA sacked Folau for declaring scripture.  Clyne is in a battle he doesn’t understand and is too arrogant to realize that corporate Australia doesn’t decide morality for the rest of us.

Israel Folau case has been mishandled from the start; is it too late to make things right?

Image
Israel Folau and I don’t have much in common, but two things we share. The first is that we are both committed Christians within the evangelical tradition of faith. We take the Bible seriously as a book inspired by God. That helps me to understand Folau’s desire to share his beliefs ― his heart, his motivation, his passion. The second thing we have in common is that neither of us is theologians. Nevertheless, I do have to agree with Folau’s apparent view that any particular category of a sinner is going to hell because their identified sins are egregious. To be sure, in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Paul does give a list of wrongdoers who will not inherit the kingdom of God, and Folau was paraphrasing this passage.  However, passages of this kind are only open to one interpretation. It is in the first eight chapters of his letter to the Romans that Paul sets out in a systematic way the Christian gospel. In Romans 3:23 he wrote that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God....

Israel Folau and Religious Freedom

Image
The success or failure of Israel Folau’s claim against Rugby Australia rests on one central, unresolved legal question. Just how far does somebody’s right to religious expression extend ? Amid all the drama and fury of the broader debate, it is easy to forget that Folau’s case is about something as dry as employment contract law.  Many of the questions Australians have argued over so vociferously in recent days — for instance, whether Folau is justified in asking the public for donations — will simply have no bearing on the final outcome. So what will? How will this argument actually be decided?  Professor Anthony Forsyth,  an expert in workplace law  at RMIT University, to better understand the key elements of the case. RUGBY AUSTRALIA’S ARGUMENT Rugby Australia terminated Folau’s contract in May after a tribunal found he had breached its code of conduct with an Instagram post telling gay people, along with others “living in sin”, that they would go ...
