Alberta’s leftist govt. has forced Christian schools to adopt LGBT agenda or be destroyed

Image
The NDP’s Education Minister David Eggen has been hard at work on this since the day he took office, launching a two-pronged assault on Alberta’s education system: Transform the curriculum of the public schools, and force the religious schools to either conform to NDP standards or simply destroy them. Christian schools were told that they would be forced to establish Gay-Straight Alliance Clubs at the request of a single student and that it would be illegal to tell parents if their children wanted to join it.  Predictably — and Eggen and his cronies knew this would happen — many religious schools are unwilling to implement these changes due to the fact that these policies directly conflict with the founding principles of Judeo-Christian institutions. As religious schools desperately attempt to fight off these attacks on their identity and beliefs in the courts, Premier Rachel Notley’s so-called Ministry of Education has recently revealed that the initial cannon fire is just the...

Alberta gov’t to schools: You can’t tell parents when their child joins LGBT club

Image
The Alberta NDP government made good its promise and introduced a bill November 2 that forbids schools telling parents their child has joined a “gay-straight alliance” without the child’s consent, regardless of the child’s age. Bill 24, or  An Act to Support Gay-straight Alliances , also nixes a previous exemption for private schools, which will now have to allow gay-straight alliances (GSAs) if a student requests one, although the bill has a mechanism for “exemptions.” Education Minister David Eggen issued a  ministerial order in March  to two private Christian schools demanding they establish a GSA if a student requests one. Under Bill 24, parental notification requirements and opt-out for courses with sexual or religious content will not be in force when it comes to participation in GSAs. The bill compels all schools to tell students they have the legal right to form a GSA, and to establish anti-bullying policies banning discrimination based on gender ide...

Alberta gov’t: ‘Unacceptable’ for Catholic schools to uphold Biblical sexuality

Image
The Alberta government says it is “unacceptable” for Catholic schools to uphold Church teaching on sexuality in school curriculum. Media in Alberta reported this week that the Council of Catholic School Superintendents of Alberta had said curriculum promoting the homosexual “lifestyle,” masturbation, anal and oral sex, or transgenderism would be problematic if required by the impending K-12 health and wellness curriculum. Alberta Premier Rachel Notley has criticized the Catholic schools and insisted their proposed program will never be taught if its final form is as it has been advertised. “Under no circumstances will we enforce or condone a sexual health curriculum that normalizes an absence of consent, refuses to talk about contraception and other things that protect the health of sexually active young people, or in any way marginalizes sexual minorities. That's not on,” she told the Canadian Press. Jason Kenney , a Catholic pro-life candidate for the United Co...

Alberta NDP gvmt closes down Christian home-schooling association – pretense funding – truth – gay policy

Image
Alberta ’s largest Christian home-schooling association has been effectively shut down by the province’s NDP government after it found what Education Minister David Eggen called a “fail[ure] to demonstrate accountability of funding received from the government of Alberta.” But the association is denying wrongdoing. “WISDOM/Trinity has been shut down by AB Education. They announced this with a press release filled with partial truths amounting to calumny,” the association stated in a press release on Tuesday. An ; audit by the ministry   found what it claimed to be various spending irregularities of taxpayer dollars. In Alberta, each home-schooled child under the wing of a private school such as WISDOM/Trinity is   allotted   $1,670 of taxpayer funds to cover learning expenses such as curriculum. The audit claimed to find that money that should have been spent on educating students was used to fund inappropriate expenses such as babysitting, funeral expen...
