Homosexual activist Elton John: Pope Francis ‘is my hero’

Image
Believe (Elton John song) (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Demonstrating ongoing public confusion about Pope Francis, homosexual activist musician Elton John called the Pope his hero at a fundraiser for his AIDS foundation last night. While he heaped praise on Pope Francis, John attacked the Catholic Church and previous Popes . Ignoring the fact that the Catholic Church has done more to help AIDS patients than any other entity on the planet, the singer said: “Ten years ago one of the biggest obstacles in the fight against AIDS was the Catholic Church. Today we have a pope that speaks out about it.” Praising Pope Francis’ ‘who am I to judge’ line, the singer said, “He did more with those five words than the last five popes. He is my hero." John, who in 2006 said he would ban religion completely since he felt it caused hatred of ‘gays’, said the pope "is a compassionate, loving man who wants everybody to be included in the love of God. It is formidable what he is trying to ...

Houston mayor says pastors do not have to turn over their sermons after all

Español: Annise Parker, la alcaldesa de Houston (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) After intense backlash from around the nation, the mayor of Houston has backed down and said five of the city's pastors do not have to turn over copies of their sermons on homosexuality and “gender identity” to the city. The city had  issued a subpoena for the pastors' sermons  after five area clergy began an effort to repeal a city ordinance granting special rights to homosexuals and transgender people – such as giving them the same housing and employment status as racial minorities and allowing biological men to use female restrooms and locker rooms. “After much contemplation and discussion, I am directing the city legal department to withdraw the subpoenas issued to the five Houston pastors,” Mayor Annise Parker , an open lesbian, said today. The announcement comes one day after Parker held two meetings with local and national clergy outraged that th...

Gay activist admits to eight ‘mercy’ killings in 1980s, activist calls for investigation

Veteran gay activist David Mixner , 68, admitted Monday that the devastation of HIV/AIDS on seven friends and a lover in the 1980s drove him to murder them out of “mercy.” The revelation has a prominent anti-euthanasia activist calling for a criminal investigation. In a biographical stage show performed in front of influential politicians and gay rights activists sponsored by the Point Foundation , Mixner -- who has been on the forefront of the gay rights movement for four decades -- admitted that he killed the eight people in the 1980s. All of the people, according to Mixner, were in the final stages of HIV/AIDS. One of the eight was Peter Scott , with whom Mixner had a 12-year relationship. According to  The Daily Beast 's  Tim Teeman, who interviewed the activist after the show, Scott asked Mixner to help him die. Teeman says that Mixner was part of "an underground euthanasia network" that included medical professionals. They are "all gone," accordin...

Slovak court allows referendum to support true marriage, parental rights

The Slovak Constitutional Court issued a decision Wednesday to allow a pro-family referendum initiated by the Slovak Alliance for Family to move forward. Although in June the Slovak Parliament   approved , by a vote of 102 to 18, a constitutional amendment that defines marriage as a bond between a man and a woman, the Slovak Alliance for Family launched a petition calling for a national referendum to affirm four main points: that marriage is defined as a union of one man and one woman; that adoptive parents must be married, to provide the best environment for the children involved; that parents be allowed to opt out their children from school classes dealing in sex education and euthanasia; that same-sex registered partnerships be banned. The Family Alliance collected more than 400,000 signatures in its petition in support of the referendum before submitting the document to the President’s Office in August. That number surpassed the constitutionally required minimum...

Georgetown Univ. celebrates ‘LGBTQ History Month’ with ‘OUTober’

Georgetown University ’s LGBTQ Resource Center and GU Pride are currently holding “OUTober,” an ongoing event celebrating “LGBTQ History Month,” according to  The Hoya . This year’s OUTober featured a “coming out day” and a lecture from a transgender activist. According to the  campaign description , this year’s theme for OUTober is “OUT FOR.” The description states that the theme “echoes Georgetown’s Jesuit values, highlighting the commitment and responsibility of Georgetown students as ‘men and women for others.’”  However, the event description makes no mention of Catholic teaching on human sexuality . The  Catechism of the Catholic Church  states that men and women with homosexual tendencies must be treated with “respect, compassion, and sensitivity,” but that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered” and that “[h]omosexual persons are called to chastity.” Also, a  Vatican statement  entitled “Considerations Regarding Proposals to Gi...

How activists can stop the ‘gay marriage’ steamroller

Image
How can the pro-family movement – pro-family individuals – effectively fight back? Can the homosexual pseudo-marriage steamroller be stopped? Our recent article,  “How the pro-family movement helped spread ‘gay marriage’ across America”  got a lot of attention, with many readers then asking us what they can do. The huge lesson from Maryland – Success and Failure What happened in Maryland in 2011 and 2012 best encapsulates the problem we’re facing. In March 2011 a “gay marriage” bill had just passed the Maryland Senate and was on to the House of Delegates . The Governor promised to sign as soon as it passed. In the House, over half of the members were co-sponsors of the bill. It looked completely hopeless for the pro-family side. But then, possibly the biggest pro-family surge in modern history took place. Suddenly everyone on our side jumped into the fight. Black pastors, white clergy, pro-family activists, Republicans, conservative House members and others all st...

Ottawa gay activists vow to keep staging Pride parade as organizers declare bankruptcy

Image
After years of financial woes, Ottawa ’s Capital Pride homosexual organization has declared bankruptcy, stating that operations are “now clearly unsustainable.” Evangelical Christian leader Charles McVety hopes the news means no more annual hyper-sexualized parades on the city’s main streets but suspects the move is a ploy to garner tax dollars. “It’s a great day for Ottawa [if] sex will not be paraded on the main street and children will not be visually violated,” he told LifeSiteNews. The Capital Pride Board of Directors stated on Facebook Monday that its current financial situation is “beyond its ability to alter or repair and is now forced to declare bankruptcy.” Despite this, the city’s homosexuals have already declared that next year’s parade will go on, even if it means looking for outside help — including the possibility of moving an international homosexual festival to Ottawa — to make it happen. “There will be something. It won’t be Capital Pride putting it on. They’v...
