Alex Greenwich is the biggest threat to freedom of speech and parents’ rights to educate their children free of radical LGBTQA+ indoctrination and he must be stopped, Family First National Director and NSW Legislative Council candidate Lyle Shelton.


“If I’m elected to the New South Wales Legislative Council next March, I will fight to protect families from Mr Greenwich’s attempts to continue to force radical LGBTQA+ indoctrination on their children and to further criminalise legitimate criticism of LGBTQA+ ideology.”

Mr Shelton was responding to media reports today that Greenwich plans to push anti-free speech and anti-parental rights laws in the next Parliament. This follows the Minns Government decision this week to drop a proposal to extend the remit of anti-free speech “hate speech” laws.

“Existing ‘hate speech’ laws already go way too far, as we’ve seen with the farcical case against my friend Kirralie Smith who has been ordered to pay $95,000 in damages for hurting the feelings of two men who claim to be women.

“Greenwich thinks Kirralie’s punishment is not enough and wants even tougher laws. This doesn’t pass the pub test in mainstream Australia.

“He also wants to reach in and tell faith-based Christian and Muslim schools that they can’t preference teachers who uphold the values of their LGBTQ community.

“That is a slap in the face to parents who want to bring up their kids free of Mr Greenwich’s gender-fluid and sexualised ideology.”

Parents expect Parliamentarians like Greenwich to respect Australia’s commitment to Article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which recognises the liberty of parents to ensure the moral and religious education of their children in accordance with their own convictions.
