Irish bishops to meet in wake of allegations of ‘gay culture’ at national seminary
In the wake of Dublin Archbishop Diarmuid Martin’s high-profile decision to move his seminarians out of Ireland’s national seminary over concerns about a strong “gay subculture” at the institution, the seminary’s trustees will meet.
Armagh Archbishop Eamon Martin, whose position earns him the title Primate of All Ireland, has called a meeting of the St. Patrick College trustees prior to the beginning of the coming school year. The board of trustees is comprised of 17 bishops, including Archbishops Eamon Martin and Diarmuid Martin.
