Learning from New York Gay Marriage debacle

Image
Image by C. G. P. Grey via Flickr People often ask, "How does allowing same-sex couples to marry impact my marriage and family?" The real question is broader: "How does same-sex marriage impact our culture and society, in turn impacting me and my family?" When New York began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples last weekend, we saw some of those effects. One of the most serious consequences involves our right as Americans to religious liberty . When the New York legislators redefined marriage last month, they congratulated themselves for including religious exemptions.  Since the law passed, however, several town clerks have resigned from their positions rather than violate their consciences by issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples—because the religious "exemptions" simply don't cover them. Already, same-sex marriage advocates are planning to export New York's religious "exemptions" to other states that have...

Peter Beattie is wrong!

Image
Image via Wikipedia Peter Beattie (ex Queensland premier) says: " Gay marriage no longer an issue with the public." Beattie forgot to mention that the four Republicans IN NY were bribed ($10,300) to vote in favour of Bloomberg bill. Bloomberg himself was funded by several rich gay entities.  This is bribery at its worst changing social moral without a vote from the country. This is pure manipulation by the gay gestapo. Beattie also brought in Gay Discrimination laws and when the Church met with him and objected, he washed them done by saying, 'a gay person would never want to get a job in a church? Don't worry."  The UK has proved Beattie completely wrong where Stonewall a pro gay group have targeted churches, adoption agencies, counsellors who work for churches and do not support the gay agenda. Nat’l Catholic Reporter writer gushes: lesbian ‘wedding’ ceremony a ‘foretaste of eternity

Image
Image via Wikipedia A columnist at the National Catholic Reporter has published a glowing account of a homosexual “ marriage ” between two Catholic lesbians , describing the event as a “transcendent” experience likened to a “foretaste of eternity.” Jamie Manson, an award-winning columnist at the prominent Catholic paper, which is known for its regular opposition to official Catholic teaching on key issues, published her observations of the event in a column entitled “Witnessing a Catholic Same-Sex Wedding.” “The 20 people in attendance, whose ages ranged from 21 to well over 70, all shared two things in common with the couple. Every one of them is gay or lesbian, and every one of them is deeply committed to their Catholic faith ,” wrote Manson. “It was one of those moments that I have experienced rarely: a moment of genuine joy, peace, and deep communal friendship. It was at once very real, but also transcendent.  Perhaps a foretaste of what eternity might be like.” Manso...

Rick Perry: ‘Obviously, homosexual marriage is not fine with me’

Image
Image via Wikipedia After stirring controversy among conservatives by saying the passage of New York ’s gay “marriage” law was “fine” with him, Texas Gov. Rick Perry has clarified that he is against the marriage law, but in favor of states’ rights on the marriage issue. “I probably needed to add a few words after that ‘it’s fine with me,’ and that it’s fine with me that a state is using their sovereign rights to decide an issue.  Obviously gay marriage is not fine with me. My stance hasn’t changed,” Perry told Family Research Council President Tony Perkins on Thursday. The rest of Perry’s interview with Perkins will be broadcast on  Washington Watch Weekly  on Friday. Perry  had made  the original marriage remarks before a crowd of GOP donors in Aspen, Colorado last week. “Our friends in New York six weeks ago passed a statute that said marriage can be between two people of the same sex. And you know what? That’s New York, and that’s their business, and t...

Poll: USA Majority Say Same-Sex Relations Are OK

Image
The influence of media, hollywood and a small savy group have forced a social attitude change in the USA . Those who oppose gay marriage are painted as bigots against love and fairness. The gay agenda uses language in a certain way to manipulate emotions. Americans no longer base their morals on scripture but what Hollywood and media says. Wealthy gay persons now fund various politicans who will vote for anything as long as you pay them a bribe.  The state of New York began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples earlier this week. New York's decision to expand the definition of marriage to include gay couples, which affects the third-largest state population in the U.S., is seen by many as an important symbolic victory in the fights over gay rights and marriage. In the days leading up to the new legislation, proponents of gay marriage said that traditional marriage advocates would find themselves on the wrong side of history. A long-running beliefs poll indicates a d...

Colombia’s highest court orders Congress to recognize homosexual unions

Image
Image by Gord McKenna via Flickr Colombia’s Constitutional Court has issued a decision declaring that homosexual couples constitute a “family,” but stopping short of giving them a right to “marry” each other. In a decision issued yesterday evening, the Court decreed that the issue of “ matrimony ” between two people of the same sex is a matter for the National Congress to decide, and gave legislators two years to take up the issue. According to the decision, the Congress must legislate “in an integral, systematic, and ordered way regarding the rights of same-sex couples with the purpose of eliminating the lack of protection” that exists for their unions. The jurists decreed that if the Congress does not pass legislation on the matter within that period,  “the next day, same-sex couples will be able to go to a notary and legalize their union.” According to the decision, the Congress will be required to pass legislation recognizing the “family” rights of cohabiting homosexu...

10,000 march for true marriage in New York – more events planned

Image
New York, NY , July 26, 2011 – This past Sunday, an estimated nearly 10,000 people participated in a New York City rally and march in support of the traditional definition of marriage.  The rally, which was organized by the National Organization for Marriage (NOM), took place on the same day as the first homosexual “marriages” were legally performed in New York State. More than 200 people also attended a NOM rally organized in Buffalo , New York on Sunday. In addition to New York City and Buffalo, NOM held rallies in Albany, Rochester, and Syracuse. “The crowds of supporters were just amazing,” said Brian Brown, NOM’s president. “The crowd in Manhattan was so large the New York Police Department asked us to begin our march early so that we could relieve overcrowding at the gathering site.” The New York City march began in front of Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo ’s New York City offices on Park Avenue and then proceeded to the United Nations . Men and women waved Bibles an...

Catholic Charities hired firm founded by gay activist, accused of support for homosexual group

Image
Image via Wikipedia As Catholic Charities agencies across the country are fighting government efforts to shut down their adoption services, the group’s national office in Washington has employed a firm founded by a homosexual activist to lobby for them on Capitol Hill, the Washington Blade , a homosexual newspaper, reported recently. A spokesman for Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) confirmed to LifeSiteNews that they hired the Sheridan Group, a lobbying firm founded by Tom Sheridan.  A self-professed “gay Catholic,” Sheridan began his lobbying career with the AIDS Action Council in the 1980s, and his firm has since represented numerous AIDS advocacy groups. At the same time, the dissident New Ways Ministry , which purports to support “LGBT” Catholics, claimed to the Blade that CCUSA and some local Catholic Charities agencies have been backing them “behind-the-scenes.” “Catholic Charities in general have been the most progressive wing of the church other than the nuns,” said ...

Pakistanis denounce U.S. Embassy’s gay rights party as ‘cultural terrorism’

Image
Image via Wikipedia A U.S. Embassy party in Islamabad billed as a celebration of homosexual rights inflamed conservative Pakistani groups, who condemned the event as an act of “cultural terrorism” aimed at the country’s Islamic values. The U.S. Embassy held a “gay pride” celebration on June 26, the first ever promotion of homosexual rights by U.S. diplomats in the Islamic nation. The  Associated Press (AP) reported  that a coalition of religious and political leaders, including Pakistan ’s largest Islamic party , Jamaat-e-Islami , released a statement condemning the U.S. government’s homosexual advocacy , calling it the “worst social and cultural terrorism against Pakistan.” The group called it the second most dangerous U.S. attack on Pakistan, following the unmanned drone attacks carried out by U.S. forces on suspected Islamic terrorists. According to the AP, U.S. deputy ambassador Richard Hoagland hosted the party, which was co-sponsored by Gays and Lesbians in Foreig...

Colombian Christians issue joint condemnation of homosexual ‘marriage’ as court decision approaches

Image
Image via Wikipedia The leaders of Colombia ’s major Christian denominations have issued a joint statement asking the nation’s Constitutional Court to protect the institution of marriage and reject a petition to create homosexual marriage as a constitutional “right.” The Court is due to issue its decision on the matter today, following a suit filed by a homosexual couple in January of this year. The statement, which was signed by representatives of the Catholic Church , Evangelical Protestant churches, Methodists , and Anglicans , states that “the bond between two men or two women cannot constitute a true marriage or a true family, and much less can the right to adopt minors be attributed to it.” “Anthropologically and psychologically the integral complementarity of the couple is of a man and a woman, with the purpose of a union in love, of the fruit of love in children and the creation of a family, ” the prelates add. “We respectfully invite the magistrates of the Constitution...
