Suspended priest sells $750 ‘Catholic Nuptual Mass’ for gay couples

A Catholic priest suspended from his California post for supporting gay “marriage” is now selling “Catholic Nuptual Masses” to both heterosexual and homosexual couples.

California Catholic Daily reported July 14 that Geoffrey Farrow, formerly a priest at St. Paul Newman Center in Fresno, is now selling the rites alongside the sacrifice of the Mass for $750 each on FatherGeoffWeddings.com.

On the website, Farrow describes the ceremonies and notes, “All of these wedding rites may be adapted for Same-sex couples.”

“Sadly, in California at this time Civil Marriage Licenses are denied to Same-sex couples. We can however celebrate Union Ceremonies for Same-sex couples. We continue to work for the day that Same-sex couples will enjoy the same full Civil Rights as Opposite-sex couples currently are afforded,” he adds.

Farrow also offers ceremonies without the sacrament, the “Simple Catholic Marriage Rite” and a “Secular Wedding ceremony,” for a reduced rate of $500 each.

Colin Dougherty, a spokesman for the diocese, told LifeSiteNews.com (LSN) Tuesday afternoon that he would seek more information from diocesan leadership regarding Farrow’s activities. “To tell you the truth, this is the first I’m hearing of it,” he said.

Dougherty later told LSN in an email that the diocese, under the leadership of Diocesan Administrator Msgr. Myron Cotta, “has no comment on Geoffrey Farrow.” “Mr. Farrow left his duties nearly two years ago and Diocesan administration was unaware of his actions,” states the email.

The spokesman clarified in a second email that the diocese also had no comment on the possibility of further sanctions against the priest.
Farrow, an open homosexual and avid gay rights activist, acknowledges that the Mass-selling website is his on his blog, where he outlines his opposition to Church teaching on sexuality in detail.

Suspended in 2008 for supporting homosexual “marriage” in California, Farrow on his blog routinely criticizes the Church’s hierarchy as a corrupt institution, explores theories such as homosexual “marriages” in Church history, and shares updates on homosexualist legislative gains. Most recently, in an entry entitled “Apostles of Hate,” Farrow lambasted critics of California’s new law mandating history textbooks to include homosexual figures.

When New York passed its same-sex “marriage” bill last month, Farrow wrote, “Pop open a bottle of Champaign (sic) and raise a toast to Maggie Gallagher’s new job search and the defeat of NOM (and its puppet masters in the Mormon & Catholic leadership).”

Farrow also slammed New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan, who had compared the foisting of same-sex “marriage” upon New York to Communist totalitarianism, calling his statements “not merely absurd, it is an unsophisticated inversion of the truth meant to seduce and deceive the public and intimidate politicians.”

“Make no mistake, this is not about ‘morality’ it is about raw naked political and social power. It is about the power of individuals to live freely versus the power of institutions, like the Catholic hierarchy, to dictate how those individuals may live,” wrote the priest.
