LGBT liars attack a Christian School Principal

The LGBTI community is putting pressure on the state government to include Christian schools under anti-discrimination legislation after a gay man said he felt forced to withdraw his seven-year-old daughter from her Christian school.

Brendan, whose last name is withheld to protect the identity of his daughter, said after his daughter told her class at Mandurah's Foundation Christian College that her father was gay, she was silenced by her teacher.

Brendan was called in to the school and told that his daughter could only remain a studen there if she never again mentioned her father's sexuality or partner. He then decided to withdraw her from the school.

The school was hit by vandals overnight with graffiti which read "Gay is the Way, your principal is a c***head" spray-painted on the walls of the school hall on Friday. This is standard LGBT style - abuse, name call, destroy property then claim discrimination.

Maylands resident Beth Cole is calling on all schools that receive public funding to be banned from discriminating. While WA's equal opportunity legislation prohibits schools discriminating on the basis of sexuality, there is an exception for educational institutions established for religious purposes. But governments fund all types of programs from needles, drugs in jail, liberal sex education, abortion drugs RD240.

"I just felt really sad for the whole family, that they still face this discrimination in this day and age – it doesn't seem right," she said. "As a lesbian I feel very strongly that we have a place in society; we contribute; we shouldn't be discriminated against."

Religious schools are exempt from the equal opportunity act here in WA; they can discriminate against people on the basis of sexual orientation and gender history, and while freedom of religion is important you need to balance it against causing real harm and hurt to people. They vet their teachers, in that a stripper, adult entertainer at night would not be allowed to be a school teacher in a Christian school as it violates the schools ethics and work contract. They are requires to attend church and live and support the Christian faith.

Victoria Park mother Michelle Hunter lives in a same-sex relationship, has a two-year-old son and is pregnant with her second child." I felt outraged and deeply saddened by that story, putting myself in that seven-year-old's shoes," she said. The child should not have been put in this position by the Father. This Father should have been aware that in time, the Biblical moral teaching on families, sex, health and healing would have been taught by teachers and chaplains as per expected by Christian schools. He placed his child in an environment he doesn't support or agree with. Why?

"When the father submitted his application for enrolment, he did so with his ex-wife as part of the process," he said in a statement provided to the Mandurah Mail. He falsely presented his marriage as normal. Is this standard LGBT tactic?

"Knowing that the college would not endorse an application from same-sex parents, I find there is not openness from the parent's point of view. The parent signed the conditions of entry agreement with the college stating (amongst other items) 'We support the principle of Christian education for our child'. "The [school] board are firm in their view that families have a mother and father who raise children jointly.

The board also has a strong view that families with same-sex parents do not support a Christian world view. Some parents at this college are concerned to hear that a child in year one is talking about their experiences of living with two dads, in place of a mother and father.

"I mentioned to the parent that if his daughter was to continue this topic of discussion with her peers, then it would be in both his and his daughter's interests to move to a school that would support his world view." This principal is to be commended for standing up against the LGBT bullies.
