School vandalized night before pro-family award ceremony
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Illinois, – A homosexual activist has claimed responsibility for an attack against a church school on the eve of a banquet where a pro-family activist was set to receive an award.
“This is just a sample of what we will do if you don’t shut down Scott Lively and AFTAH,” said a note on two chunks of concrete thrown through the glass windows and doors of the church school. “F—- Scott Lively. Quit the homophobic s—-!”
On the concrete chunks were written the words “Shut down Lively.”
Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) was scheduled to present its “American Truth Teller” award to Scott Lively, a pro-family activist and author of “The Pink Swastika,” a book documenting the role of homosexuals in Nazism, at an evening banquet October 15.
Hours after the attack, the anonymous author of a statementposted on the leftist “Chicago Indymedia” website claimed responsibility for the crime.
“These chunks of concrete were thrown through these windows an

Christian Liberty Academy has hosted several events for AFTAH, including last year’s three-day Truth Academy, which was protested by the Chicago-based Gay Liberation Network (GLN), a fringe group of self-described Marxists and sexual anarchists best known for disrupting peaceful Christian gatherings with raucous protests. The GLN, which successfully pressured the ultraliberal Southern Poverty Law Center to label AFTAH a “hate group,” had announced that it would protest the October 15 AFTAH banquet.
The GLN also unsuccessfully pressured Moody Church Pastor Erwin Lutzer to pull out as keynote speaker at the AFTAH banquet, according to the AFTAH. The Chicago group has labeled Lutzer a “hater” and his church a “House of Hate” http://www.illinoisfamily.org/informed/contentview.asp?c=34757 because of a book he authored against homosexual “marriage.”
“In my 20 plus years of pro-family activism,” Lively told WND, “I have never seen such a brazen act of ‘gay’ militancy.”
“The GLN has always targeted us,” AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera added. “But right now we don’t know who did this. It could be just a rogue activist. It could be just one person. We don’t know, and I wouldn’t want to link the attack to any group unless we had evidence linking it.”
