Sam Clench incorrectly judges Israel Folau tweet
“I’m hoping for an apology. I’d be happy with that,” Israel Folau told reporters outside the Fair Work Commission in Sydney yesterday.
But Sam Clench states Folau must apologize because clench believes Folau words from God stated in 1 Corinthians 6 are hurtful. Clench having no understanding of scripture and having not read the complete tweet simply focuses on the sin of homosexuality and says it is hurtful.
Yet Clench doesn't speak about the wicked, idolaters, thieves, greedy, drunkards slanders (that would include him) swindlers (Nigerian scams) ...will not inherit God's kingdom.
Clench states: "And that is the fundamental problem here. Folau honestly does not believe he said anything hateful. In fact, he thinks the exact opposite."
Correct, like a parent warning a child not to touch a hot stove, Folau quotes 1 Corinthians 6 and warns a range of sins prevents us from God's kingdom. This is an expression of love. But because the LGBTQ movement has twisted the concept of love and accused God of hate ...hence Clench is also confused.
“It’s something that I’m trying to share in love, and that’s the way I look at it in terms of sharing the Bible and the passages with my fellow men each day,” Folau said in an interview on Thursday night, referring to his repeated declarations that gay people are destined for hell."Then Clench displays his ignorance of the religious argument
"Despite all its qualities, and everything positive it contributes to society, religion still has a nasty habit of spreading hate and calling it love. That’s an awkward problem to talk about. I feel awkward typing this right now, because I know from experience how wonderful and compassionate people of faith can be. But what the heck, this needs to be said. When you tell someone the god you worship will send them to hell, it is not a loving sentiment. You are implicitly telling that person you believe they deserve to suffer for eternity unless they repent."
He has met Christian people but doesn't agree nor understand the Bible. He has probably seen good works and no theology. Clench does NOT understand the nature and perverse saturation of sin and God's loving sacrificial remedy through Christ's atonement for every person - every sin and the result of the rejection of Christ. He is simply on about good works and Christians being nice. But that doesn't stop his criticism.
Against all research, Clench believes you are born gay, there must be a gay gene and homosexuality is never a choice.
"It has been put to me frequently over the last week that Folau also condemned drunks, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolaters. “The adulterers aren’t offended!” the argument goes. How come there’s one standard for insulting them and another for insulting gay people? You know what sets everything on that list apart from homosexuality? Every single one is a choice. You can choose not to drink, not to steal, not to have sex before marriage. Being gay is not a choice. We are talking about the difference between judging someone for how they behave and judging them for how they were born."God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that people become homosexuals because of sin (Romans 1:24–27) and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as some people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person’s choosing to sin by giving in to sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger/rage, does that make it right for him to give in to those desires? Of course not! The same is true with homosexuality.
However, the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Philippians 4:13).
