Richard Grenell’s deceived in his false faith and Trump

“I am writing to tell you that I am gay and I am a Christian.”

That was the opening line of the letter Richard Grenell, a former United Nations official, sent his evangelical parents when he decided to come out in 1999.

President Trump reportedly plans to nominate Grenell to be his ambassador to NATO, a position that would make Grenell the highest-ranking gay man in the new administration, and arguably the most visible gay in America

Converted at a young age, he spent his summers at religious youth camps and traveling to foreign countries on mission trips to evangelize non-Christians. While his devout parents moved back and forth from California to Michigan, the church remained the constant in his life. Attending multiple services each week was mandatory, but no one needed to twist young Grenell’s arm.

“Growing up in church, I think I recognized the need for God and that Jesus died for my sins. So I wanted to forge a path toward living a Christian life and learning along that road.”

Grenell began justifying his homosexual sin while attending Evangel College, a private university in Springfield, Missouri, affiliated with the conservative Assemblies of God denomination.

“My time at Evangel taught me that all truth is God’s truth no matter where it’s found, which resonated with me ironically because my truth was that I was born gay.”
MY TRUTH - HIS TRUTH IS DECEPTION
Unfortunately, the born gay thesis is truly debunked as false. And if he were to think it through (as a supposed Christian - which he is not) he is stating that God made him as an abomination- sinful. He is accusing God of sin.

“I started to realize that if I wanted to be authentic about who I was and have a real relationship with the creator, I had to find a way to be honest.”
Unfortunately, he chose not to be honest about his sin, he believes his own "authentic truthfulness" (depraved mind) and believes God has accepted him without question (another false claim).

His claim is clearly and historically false. Grenell claims what God condemns is wrong, but to do so makes God a liar, therefore he has to reinterpret scripture to.

So during his time in graduate school, Grenell he connected with another homosexual Peter Gomes, an African American, who served as a professor of Christian morals at Harvard Divinity School (liberal). Image that! A homosexual teaching Christian morals?

Gomes, who came out as gay himself in 1991, pointed Grenell back to the handful of Bible passages that addressed the sinfulness of  homosexuality. Gomes then reinterpreted these verses to mean something else.

Surprise! Two homosexuals to ease their conscience to justify their sinful homosexual lifestyle, had to reinterpret the very clear Bible verses that openly condemn all forms of homosexuality to mean something completely else.

They claimed they studied the original language, the cultural context of the verses, and how they were translated into English. As the exercise progressed, Grenell became convinced that being gay was not incompatible with being Christian.

“Peter taught me to peel back the modern, 1950s interpretation of the Bible and go back to the original text and intent of what God was saying to us,” he said.

Peter Gomes chose to align himself with the now false teachings of John Boswell's 1950's work which re-interprets all verses that condemn homosexuality and reworks them all to talk about cultural temple prostitution, loving gays not manipulative gays, Leviticus condemnations are only for Jews, It attempts to show that the prohibitions against homosexuality in the Bible are prohibitions that only concern the practice of same-sex intimacy as cultic, religious prostitution, which is idolatrous.

The MCC church built itself on these false Biblical recycling, revisionist interpretations.  Boswell's work has been found to be full of errors.

The contention is that the prohibitions that are found in the book of Leviticus are arcane, obsolete, or inapplicable to the controversy before us. The truth of the matter is, however, that the condemnation of homosexuality as found in the book of Leviticus stands with present-day relevance—that homosexuality, then and now, was and is sinful and not approved by the Creator, the God of the Bible. The arguments offered to justify homosexuality as a biblically acceptable practice are scripturally indefensible.

NOW GRENELL LIVES A DECEIVED LIFE -

THINKING HE IS RIGHT WITH GOD
Two decades later, Grenell can still be found in church most Sundays, joined by his partner of 15 years, Matt Lashey, who is himself an evangelical Christian and a graduate of Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University.

The couple reads the Bible and prays together each day, and their home is often filled with the melodies of Hillsong Worship, a chart-topping Christian “praise band” from Australia.
