Christian politician Shameless Homosexual Betrayal on marriage

Mr Rudd's sudden conversion to support homosexualmarriage, on the road to the federal election, is betrayal upon betrayal, according to the Australian Christian Values Institute (ACVI). The newly released Christian Values Checklist shows that Labor, under Mr Rudd, has embraced the Green’smoral decadence and betrayed its working class constituency.

A spokesperson for the ACVI and the Christian Values Checklist, John Miller, said, "Mr Rudd has sadly earned the nickname of Judas."

"He has betrayed the institution of marriage that has existed for millennia, he has betrayed the broad Christian lobby who he assiduously romanced in the lead up to the 2007 election, and who helped him to defeat John Howard, he has betrayed the message of the Bible, which he knows well, and he has betrayed the many members of his own caucus who he knows are strongly and conscientiously opposed to same sex marriage."

Mr Miller said, “The biblical Judas was quickly remorseful about what he did, but the political Mr Rudd is shameless in his betrayal. If Mr Rudd exemplifies Christian values in a politician then bring on the atheists with a moral conscience."

"We call on Mr Rudd to re-examine his election campaign support for same-sex marriage, recognise and acknowledge he got it wrong, and again stand up for God-ordained marriage as being between one man and one woman."

"Those members of Mr Rudd's caucus, who in conscience support the institution of marriage, and who he did not consult on this crucial issue, should see this as the last straw. They should announce now that they will not serve under him, and should he be elected they will resign their seats in parliament causing by-elections."

“For Labor to lose its moral compass in such a public way under a professing Christian Prime Minister is incredibly sad. The Christian DNA that was so strong in the labor movement's early years has all but been bred out by successive generations of 'whatever it takes'.

Christians in the ALP have clearly lost their salt in the party's policies. Mark Latham is right to say that, 'The return of Kevin Rudd is the final hammer blow in the destruction of Labor’s moral code.' The Christian constituency needs to think about this when they vote, and when they pay their union dues."
