No-hell Rob Bell supports homosexual immoral sinful ‘marriage’
This Sunday Rob Bell, a (gnostic) Christian writer and speaker, who does not believe in Hell, or the Bible, came out in support of homosexual marriage. He stated,
I am for marriage. I am for fidelity. I am for love, whether it's a man and woman, a woman and a woman, a man and a man. I think the ship has sailed and I think the church needs -- I think this is the world we are living in and we need to affirm people wherever they are.
Bell went on to talk about love:
I would say that the powerful, revolutionary thing about Jesus' message is that he says, 'What do you do with the people that aren't like you? What do you do with the Other? What do you do with the person that's hardest to love?'

For all his rhetoric on love, however, Rob Bell is demonstrating that he does not love homosexuals.
One of my friends in college made the very perceptive comment that those Christians who suppress the Biblical message concerning homosexual sin are guilty of “spiritual violence” against homosexuals.
The Bible is very clear that sin is destructive. The most “revolutionary thing about Jesus’ message” is not that we should love the unlovely. The most “revolutionary thing about Jesus’ message” is that God loved the unlovely!
The most revolutionary truth in the entire world is that God loved us and demonstrated that love by sending Jesus to save us from our sins. But this implies, of course, that sin is something from which we desperately need saving! A theology with no room for sin is a theology with no room for the cross, and a theology with no room for the cross is a theology with no room for love.
Bell states that we should “affirm people wherever they are,” but this is hardly what the Bible teaches. Consider the words of James:
My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death. (5.20)
Consider also these words from the writer of Hebrews:
Encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called, “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end. (3.13-14)
Clearly, the Bible teaches that we should help our brothers and sisters escape the destructive power of sin. We show love to the sinner through confrontation; affirmation reveals only apathy and selfishness.
Furthermore, not even Rob Bell believes that we should “affirm people wherever they are.” He does not affirm Muslim radicals who stone homosexuals. Does he affirm those who are adulters, fornicators?
He does not affirm the bigots at Westboro Baptist church. When it comes to moral issues which will not tarnish the provocative persona he seeks to inhabit, Rob Bell is more than willing to confront sin.
The hostile, secular society in which we live forces Christians to make a choice. We can either choose to love ourselves, or we can choose to love homosexuals. We can either choose to advance our own popularity and influence in society, or we can choose to value the welfare of our homosexual brothers and sisters above our own reputations. Rob Bell has made his choice; we must make ours.
