Planned Parenthood targets gay youth with ‘LGBTTIQQ2S’ resource explaining gay/lesbian sex

TORONTO, Ontario, 29 August, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – School-aged youths in Toronto who identify themselves with the homosexual lifestyle are about to be given a LGBTTIQQ2S sex-ed resource called “Queering Sex ed,” thanks to Planned Parenthood. The resource, when complete, will “have gay and lesbian sex properly explained” and will be offered to schools as part of Planned Parenthood’s sex education package.
Anna Penner, one of the creators of Queering Sex ed, told the homosexual news service Xtra that she hopes to achieve a “resource that queer and trans youth can look at and think: ‘This is relevant to me.’”
But Gwen Landolt, national vice president of REAL Women of Canada, told LifeSiteNews that if Planned Parenthood “really cared” about children who struggled with their sexual identity, then they would point out how the homosexual life style “negatively affects one’s health, longevity, and emotional stability”.
Planned Parenthood will involve youths in the creation of Queering Sex ed by developing a “Youth Advisory Committee” (YAC) to aid in “develop[ing the] sexual education resource for LGBTTIQQ2S youth.” YAC members, upon receiving training on “topics related to sexuality, sexual health and healthy relationships” from “leaders in our communities,” will “cooperatively develop a dynamic sex ed resource.”
Xtra reported that the program’s developers, Anna Penner and David Udayasekaran of Planned Parenthood Toronto, are encouraging youths to come forward with “horror stories about sex ed” in schools, and are gathering youths’ experiences with medical health providers and other adults who interact with and educate youth.
Michael Erickson, a teacher with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), told Xtra that current sex education does not teach “gay and lesbian sex properly.”
“It is not uncommon for a student to go through 12 years of school and not have gay and lesbian sex properly explained or have the risks or benefits taught,” he said.
Landolt responded however that gay and lesbian sex is all risk with no benefits. “Health care providers know this, and homosexuals themselves have agreed that theirs is not a healthy lifestyle,” she said.
In 2009, a homosexual group by the name of the Canadian Rainbow Health Coalition filed a complaintwith the Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC), in which they detailed the numerous statistics that prove the high-risk nature of the homosexual lifestyle.
The group claimed that Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada discriminated against the country’s homosexuals by not providing “equitable levels of programming supports based on needs when compared with programming supports from the general population and other minority populations.”
Statistical evidence proffered in the group’s 10-page complaint to the CHRC included that:
• the life expectancy for men active in the homosexual life style is 20 years less than the average Canadian man
• both men and women who sexually act on same-sex attractions commit suicide at rates ranging from twice as often — to almost 14 times more — than the general population
• they become alcoholics at a rate 1.4 to seven times higher than the general population
• they use illicit drugs at a rate from 1.6 to 19 times higher than other Canadians
• they experience depression at rates ranging from 1.8 to three times higher than average
• men active in the homosexual life style comprise 76% of AIDS cases and 45% of all new HIV infections
• they are at a higher risk of lung and liver cancer than the general population.
Landolt suggested that if Planned Parenthood “really and genuinely cared” for youth who identify themselves with the homosexual life style that “they’d be helping them switch paths, not trying to encourage them in a lifestyle that’s going to be so damaging and harmful to them.”
She pointed out that Planned Parenthood’s strategy of turning to “leaders” in the community for help in training the youth who will be crafting Queering Sex ed is nothing more than a “ploy to give homosexual activists a chance to keep young people engaged in the homosexual life style”.
“These leaders will do nothing to encourage the young people to outgrow their inclinations to the same sex. And studies show that people with gender identity problems can outgrow them as they get older. But these leaders will want to ensure that this kind of information is kept hidden so that they can keep the homosexual population growing.”
“To put it simply, Queering Sex ed will only manipulate, damage, and harm impressionable and confused young people. They need real help in carrying out their lives, not hindrances from politically correct but pathetic programs.”
The Queering Sex ed program will join other Planned Parenthood “health services that are LGBTQ-positive” including an “anti-homophobia education program called T.E.A.C.H. [Teens Educating and Confronting Homophobia]” and “new programming for women who have sex with women”.
