Confused son says he is homosexual - Dad correctly says it is a choice
James O'keefe is a respected MD. His qualifications are listed below. His 18 year old son Jimmy tells his dad he is homosexual. He says his news is not bad its different. His wife without thinking says "We will love who you love." Dad thinks in terms of biology and evolution. He is correct in that homosexuality according to evolution is self defeating hence it should have gone extinct....but it hasn't.
Answer: Homosexuality is a lifestyle choice it is an expression of our fallen sinful nature. But O'keefe cannot come out and say this because he is not a Christian and disregards scriptural truths.
James O'keefe in order to accept that his son is homosexual tries to justify his feelings by looking towards biology, evolution and the benefits homosexuality brings to society.
Homosexuality now called gay but previously called sodomy has historically been seen as a sexual sinful lust of a depraved mind. Today it is presented to uncertain Biblical illiterate, tuned in to modern songs - teens as a loving alternative. In the end, scripture clearly condemns homosexual sin and lesbianism as stated by Paul is an example of the deepest depravity of our world.
So how does a Dad, who knows these facts try to come to some sound explanation that satisfies what has happened to his son ...but in the end he lies to himself. Here is how he does it.
He says homosexuals are designed by DNA (whatever that means and he contradicts himself) to make us help one another like DeGeneres.
O'keefe then claims evolution in particular DNA should have weeded gays out because they can't reproduce kids. So he is affirming homosexuality is a lifestyle choice, but he never says it that way. Then he quotes that homosexuality brings specialized talents and certain qualities of personality to society. Therefore, wait for it....so if we condemn homosexuality we condemn society.
What are these talents? He claims homosexuals rate higher in emotional intelligence with higher compassion, co-operation and low in hostility. He claims if all males were gay we would have a problem. If all males were warriors we would have a problem, therefore he claims by stereotyping and justifying homosexual sin...society needs homosexuals because they are bright, funny, intelligent and the diversity is is nature's secret weapon for a balanced society.
For such an intelligent man to come up with such bad generalizations and poor stereotypical arguments; to pull disjointed songs and comments together seeking desperately to accept his sons' homosexual immoral lifestyle choice is sad yet understandable. He is trying to put a bright side to homosexuality, equal love, love never hates etc... when history, scripture and culture and God has condemned the sin the choice of sodomy. Yet it is a sin that can be repented of and the person can find Christ and be renewed in their heart and MIND, which includes their desires and lusts.
