Actor Mark Hamill, best known for his iconic role as Star Wars protagonist Luke Sykwalker, recently told the UK's Sun that his character could be gay. "In the old days you would get fan mail. But now fans are writing and ask all these questions, 'I'm bullied in school … I'm afraid to come out.' They say to me, 'Could Luke be gay?'

IMPOSING THE HOMOSEXUAL NARRATIVE
"I'd say it is meant to be interpreted by the viewer. If you think Luke is gay, of course he is. You should not be ashamed of it."

One commentator; "What utter nonsense...if you think a person is homosexual then they are homosexual. We are getting into weird new age mumbo jumbo."

"Judge Luke by his character, not by who he loves."

Now others are speaking up; "Well, many will judge his character immediately as a simple LGBT agenda push making people tired, sick of homosexuality being shoved down their throats while watching their favourite movie franchise."

In a separate Twitter response in January to someone asking if Luke might be bisexual, Hamill responded similarly: "His sexuality is never directly addressed in the films. Luke is whatever the audience wants him to be, so you can decide for yourself."

WHY IMPOSE IMMORAL HOMOSEXUALITY ONTO A FRANCHISE?
Hamill's assessment of Skywalker's sexuality comes on the heels of new Star Wars franchise helmsman J.J. Abrams suggesting he's more than open to including homosexual characters in the universe at some point in the future.

When asked at the US-Ireland Alliance's annual Oscar Wilde Awards if there was a future for gay characters in the storied sci-fi saga, Abrams responded, "Of course! When I talk about inclusivity it's not excluding gay characters. It's about inclusivity. So of course." He added, "I would love it. To me, the fun of Star Wars is the glory of possibility. So it seems insanely narrow-minded and counterintuitive to say that there wouldn't be a homosexual character in that world."

Others have commented, "That narrow-minded is a moral judgement against those who stand firmly against the authentication of homosexuality as normal not sinful or deceptive, and that homosexuality is desired, wanted, valued in our community is a complete lie and that Star Wars and Abrams needs to think carefully before moralizing to others."
