Ontario Catholic school board to vote on flying gay ‘pride flag’ at all board-run schools

Image
A Catholic school board in Ontario will vote next week on a motion to fly the rainbow-colored homosexual pride flag at all board-run schools during the month of June. Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) Trustee Brenda Agnew gave notice of her motion titled “supporting our diverse school community” during an April 6 board meeting. Quoting Pope Francis along with LGBT talking points about “equity and inclusion,” the motion calls for the Board’s Director of Education Pat Daly to “direct all HCDSB schools including the Catholic Education Centre to fly the Pride flag during the month of June starting with 2021.” The motion is expected to be voted on by the Board at their next meeting on April 20. With nine trustees, the motion requires five votes to pass. A tied vote results in a fail. The HCDSB states on its website that its mission is to provide “excellence in Catholic education by developing Christ-centred individuals enabled to transform society.” The Catholic Church, basing i...

What male gay nuns?

Image
Let’s drop the pretense of faithfulness to Church teaching once and for all: SOME ODD PREACHERS have a soft spot in their hearts for feminine men, masculine women, and sodomy. A 46-year-old Catholic man in Belgium who identifies as female is pushing to gain entrance to a convent as a nun where he hopes to live the remainder of his life as a religious sister,” reported my colleague, Pete Baklinski, last week. “Eefje” Spreuters told Radio 2 Antwerp, as reported by VRT.be, that “everywhere I register, the sisters are enthusiastic. But it is not allowed by the rules” for a man who believes himself to be female to enter the convent. This man’s twisted desire to become a nun didn’t come out of nowhere and it can’t naively be attributed to pop-culture forces. It stems from the very fertile environment our prelates have created for sexual confusion to flourish. While the teaching of the Catholic Church on sexual matters is perfectly clear, our prelates are not. Let’s drop the pretense of faith...

Christian wedding photographer challenges NY state over law forcing her to service same-sex ‘weddings’

'To force someone to actively engage in a ceremony that millions of Americans consider sacred, to be there, participate, testify to something you disagree with, that really is a core violation of someone's conscience.' a Christian wedding photographer is launching a legal challenge against the state of N ew York over its “non-discrimination” laws that force her to contravene her religious conviction that “God created marriage to be a joyful, exclusive union between one man and one woman.” Emilee Carpenter has  filed a federal lawsuit  against New York governor Andrew Cuomo (D), along with his administration, represented by New York Democratic Attorney General Letitia James, after they threatened her with fines and even imprisonment for refusing to service so-called same-sex “weddings” as part of her photography business. The complaint details Carpenter’s willingness to work with any individual on photography projects, regardless of “sexual identity,” but that she will not s...

Gays can do whatever at home why not incest?

Image
On April 5, 2007,  Time Magazine   asked  the question, “Should Incest Be Legal?” Three years later, when Columbia University professor David Epstein was arrested for a three-year, consensual affair with his adult daughter, his attorney  noted , “It’s OK for homosexuals to do whatever they want in their own home. How is this so different? We have to figure out why some behavior is tolerated and some is not.” Not surprisingly, some Columbia students asked why any sexual acts committed by consenting adults should be considered a crime. Today, that question is being asked again, this time in the context of a lawsuit  reported  by the  New York Post  on April 10. Specifically, “A New Yorker who wants to marry their own adult offspring is suing to overturn laws barring the incestuous practice, calling it a matter of ‘individual autonomy.’” They argue that, “‘Through the enduring bond of marriage, two persons, whatever relationship they might otherwise ...

Lesbian Lecturer Sacked By Australian Bible College

Image
Last night, Australian ABC TV’s “7.30 Report” aired a story about a theological college lecturer who was sacked after she “came out” and admitted she was a practicing lesbian. Karen Pack had worked at Morling Theological College, a Baptist college, for two years as an educator, training chaplains. In last night’s program, she and her partner expressed profound hurt and surprise at her dismissal. Before I comment on Karen’s case, let me provide some contextual background information. There is a whole branch of Christianity where Karen’s lesbianism would be completely acceptable. Liberal Christians do not interpret the Bible literally. They tend to regard some of its precepts as outdated and no longer applicable. This applies to theological tenets such as the miracles of Jesus and his resurrection, as well as moral and ethical teachings such as the Bible’s condemnation of homosexuality.  In essence, whenever there is a conflict between what the Bible teaches and the current values an...

British Christian Actress Fired Over Biblical Beliefs May Face $414,000 In Legal Fees

Image
British actress Seyi Omooba is facing massive legal fees after she sued the theater and her former agency for what was seen as homophobic Facebook posts. The day after the Christian was cast in the production of The Color Purple, the emergence of an old Facebook post in which she quoted the Bible was discovered. In a post from September 2014, Omooba stated that Christians should take a stand against homosexuality. “It is clearly evident in I Corinthians vi, 9-11 what the Bible says on this matter,” she stated back in 2014. “I do not believe you can be born gay, and I do not believe homosexual practice is right.” With her career in ruins, the 25-year-old is sued, saying she was a victim of religious discrimination. The actress was also no longer even invited to auditions. However, she has been unsuccessful in her case and now faces a massive legal bill. The judges with the Employment Tribunal London who heard Seyi Omooba’s case said her claims for discrimination, breach of contract, and...

Jack Phillips of Masterpiece Cakeshop attacked by Trans lawyer

Image
Cake artist Jack Phillips opened Masterpiece Cakeshop nearly 30 years ago, in 1993. And he’s been a fixture in the community of Lakewood, Colorado ever since. He’s watched families grow from young couples requesting wedding cakes to parents ordering graduation cakes for their children. Soft-spoken and genuine, Jack welcomes the down-and-out into Masterpiece Cakeshop and strikes up a conversation with them over coffee and cookies. He’s the kind of man that lends out his best car to those in need and drives around a clunker instead. Over the years, Jack has fostered an atmosphere of warmth and refuge at Masterpiece Cakeshop. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for state officials in Colorado—who have instead created an atmosphere of hostility toward Jack and anyone else who shares his religious beliefs. It all started in 2012 when Colorado officials came after Jack for declining to create a custom cake celebrating a same-sex wedding. Jack serves all customers. But he declines to create...
