New Boy Scouts president: Gay scout leaders acceptable

Image
Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates IRVING, TX , May 27, 2014- Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who led the military to end Don't Ask, Don't Tell, says that he would have allowed homosexual leaders for Boy Scouts of America . Gates, who was  elected  to head the Boy Scouts of America ( BSA )  for a two-year term  last week, said that he "would have supported having gay Scoutmasters , but at the same time, I fully accept the decision that was democratically arrived at by 1,500 volunteers from across the entire country." A year ago, BSA allowed openly homosexual scouts for the first time. The policy  reads  that "No youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of sexual orientation or preference alone.” The policy took effect on January 1, 2014. Gates, who said he "was prepared to go further than the decision that was made," declared in a public statement last week that he did not intend to reignite t...

My husband became a ‘woman,’ and it ruined our marriage – and my future relationships

Image
MELBOURNE, Australia , – What happens when a good Catholic girl marries the man of her dreams, and then he tells her he thinks he's a woman? It yields heartbreak and a lifetime of emotionally stunted relationships, according to an autobiographical essay in Sunday's  Sydney Morning Herald   that asks society to consider “the other side” of the transgender debate. The woman, whose name has been withheld, was 18 years-old when she met “ Ryan ,” a musician who slowly worked his way into her heart. His sense of humor made the self-described “good Catholic girl” fall for the young man, who was trying to get ahead in the 1980s Australian music scene. When he asked her to move to Melbourne with her, she had second thoughts. “I did not want to 'live in sin,'” she wrote. So, he asked for her hand in marriage. Although she believed their life was idyllic, he became sullen and withdrawn. Soon, he left her a letter saying he believed he was a woman trapped inside a...

Grassroots protest petition and letters halt Estonian homosexual civil unions bill

Image
TALLINN , May 27, 2014  – A small group of family campaigners has for the moment turned back an internationally-backed effort to create “civil union” legislation in Estonia. In a surprising turnaround, within 24 hours of the launch of a petition the bill has been withdrawn for further consideration and is not expected to be reintroduced until the autumn. The signature drive was a re-play of a similar outcome a year ago when 38,000 people said no to a bill that proposed to create “gay marriage” in Estonia. In April this year, a group of forty parliamentarians tried again, bringing forward their Civil Partnership Act , the most recent of several efforts since 2005, that proposed to confer legal recognition on homosexual relationships, establishing that children can have “two mothers” or “two fathers.” Its supporters argued both that the bill was not exclusively aimed at same-sex partners and that it was in no way a prelude to the introduction of “gay marriage.” Opponents, howe...

One Victorian Parent wants to change Religious Education in Victoria

Image
Karen Percy  from the  ABC  wrote the following article:  The way religion is taught in Victorian primary schools will be overhauled after a report found that volunteers from the state's key provider  Access Ministries  breached its guidelines.   (based on the complaint of one person) A Department of  Education  investigation found that Access Ministries volunteers gave out between 16 and 18 copies of Refuel 2, a "Biblezine", at a Christmas performance at Torquay College in December last year.  Naja Voorhoeve complained to the department after her seven-year-old mildly autistic son, who was not enrolled in special religious instruction (SRI) classes, was given the Refuel 2 magazine by another student.  (So lets get some perspective here. A student hands it to another student then the parent demands the  Education Department  to overhaul the whole RE program? Does the Education department overhaul EVERY program...

Louisville denies city funds to help Boy Scouts because they ‘discriminate’ against gay scoutmasters

Image
LOUISVILLE, KY ,  – The city council of Louisville has denied a request for funds to help Boy Scouts obtain merit badges, because the group allegedly “discriminates” by refusing to allow homosexual males to act as scoutmasters. Louisville Metro Council rejected a request from Councilwoman Cindi Fowler, D-14th District, to approve $640 in neighborhood development money so that Boy Scouts could earn their swimming badges after the county attorney said the Boy Scouts of America's (BSA) ban on homosexual scout leaders violates the city's anti-discrimination ordinance. The money would have expanded swimming opportunities an additional two hours on two nights for the scouts of Troop 51 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, according to a  Courier-Journal  report. "With the heightened talk, attorneys in the civil division believe that they [BSA] do discriminate and...it is intentional discrimination," said County Attorney Mike O'Connell 's s...

‘Duck Dynasty’ star: ‘They railed against me for giving them the truth about their sins’ (video)

Image
MONROE, LA,  –  Duck Dynasty  star Phil Robertson said the only reason cultural liberals  demanded his ouster from the A&E reality show  is because he told the truth about sexual sins , and they wanted to justify their behavior instead of repenting. Slightly under nine minutes into his 43-minute sermon, which garnered reactions from many media sources this week, Robertson spoke about the many lists of sins humans are vulnerable to. According to Robertson, "I gave some guy one list. You say, 'Were they mad at you about that list?' They were mad at me." "You say 'Why did they get mad at you?'" continued Robertson to the gathered parishioners. "Because instead of acknowledging their sin – as you had better do – they railed against me for giving them the truth about their sins. 'Don't deceive yourselves.'” Recounting the conversation he had for  his  GQ  interview , the reporter asked Robertson, "Is homosexual behavi...

University fires AIDS expert for testifying homosexuality is bad for public health

Image
KINGSTON, Jamaica , May 22, 2014 – A world-famous expert on AIDS has been fired from his job at the University of the West Indies after telling court officials in Belize that homosexual behavior is a threat to public health . Professor Brendan Bain, who until now served as director of the regional coordinating unit of the Caribbean HIV/AIDS Regional Training Network (CHART) at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica, was fired Tuesday after more than 30 homosexual activist groups demanded he be removed from his job because of  testimony  he gave in 2010 in defense of Belize’s sodomy ban. Brendan Bain “As a physician and Public Health practitioner, one of my responsibilities is to assess behaviors for their health and well being,” Bain wrote at the time. “When something is beneficial, such as exercise, good nutrition, or adequate sleep, it is my duty to recommend it. Likewise, when something is harmful, such as smoking, overeating, alcohol, or drug abuse...
