World Vision Richard Stearns should be sacked for introducing grave immoral homosexual sin

Image
World Vision 's American branch will no longer require its more than 1,100 employees to restrict their sexual activity to marriage between one man and one woman. Abstinence outside of marriage remains a rule. But a policy change announced Monday [March 24] will now permit gay Christians in legal same-sex marriages to be employed at one of America's largest Christian charities . In an exclusive interview, World Vision U.S. president Richard Stearns explained to Christianity Today the rationale behind changing this "condition of employment," whether financial or legal pressures were involved, and whether other Christian organizations with faith-based hiring rules should follow World Vision's lead. Stearns asserts that the "very narrow policy change" should be viewed by others as "symbolic not of compromise but of [Christian] unity." He even hopes it will inspire unity elsewhere among Christians. [Editor's note: All subsequent references...

Federal judge imposes first same-sex ‘marriage’ in one of Mexico’s most conservative states

Image
MEXICO CITY , March 21, 2014  – Last Tuesday , two women became the first homosexual couple to get “married” in the city of León, in Guanajuanto, one of Mexico’s most conservative states and in which same-sex “marriage” is illegal. The “marriage” followed a lawsuit filed by the two lesbians when they were denied a marriage license in September last year.  After suing the state in federal court they were granted an injunction forcing the state to “marry” them. The lawsuit was based on the Mexican Constitution ’s first article, which prohibits discrimination for “sexual orientation.” However, in addition to being illegal in Guanajuato , article 156 of the Federal Civil Code lists “incurable impotence” as an impediment to contract legal marriage in the country, a provision that would seemingly invalidate same-sex “marriages” as well. In an interview with local media before the event, Judge Rito Padilla, who presided at the “marriage,” said the federal ju...

‘Their viewpoint kills people’: Stanford revokes funding for pro-marriage conference after backlash

Image
PALO ALTO, CA , March 21, 2014 – A group of about 100 homosexual activists at Stanford University have successfully intimidated the Graduate Student Council (GSC) into withdrawing $600 in previously-approved funding for a pro-marriage conference to be held on campus in April. The university administration also tried to charge the organizers $5,000 for security costs, but backed down amidst public pressure after the organizers accused them of “impos[ing] a tax on free speech.” The Stanford Anscombe Society ( SAS ) is  sponsoring  the event, called “Communicating Values: Marriage, Family and the Media.”  Featuring prominent pro-family speakers, the event’s goal is “to help university students and young adults to promote the values of marriage, family, and sexual integrity to the broader popular culture.” The GSC voted 10-2 to withdraw funding for the marriage conference.  Still, the conference will go on as planned, using funding from private dono...

Portugal narrowly rejects gay adoption law

Image
LISBON, Portugal, March 21, 2014  – A bill that proposed to legalize same-sex adoption was rejected Friday in Portugal’s Parliament by a narrow majority. The bill would have allowed one member of a same-sex partnership to adopt the child of the other. In 2012, the government promised a “ co-parenting ” bill saying that “when two people of the same sex are married or cohabiting and one of them has parental responsibility for a minor, by blood or adoption, the spouse may adopt the minor.” The bill was defeated by a center-right coalition in a vote of 112-107 with four abstentions. The same bill was passed at first reading in May 2013, but heavily opposed by the Church. At the same time a bill proposing full joint adoption was defeated in a 104-77 vote. At the moment, homosexual individuals can adopt children in Portugal, but the same-sex “marriage” bill specifically prohibits joint same-sex adoption. At the same time, the Portuguese Constitutional Court  rul...

Reinstate lesbian teachers caught having sex in classroom, court orders school

Image
NEW YORK CITY , March 21, 2014  – A five-panel appellate court has ruled that having sex in a public school classroom is no reason to lose your job. Justices with the Manhattan Appellate Division have ordered James Madison High School to reinstate two lesbian teachers whom they fired after a janitor found them having sex inside a classroom during a school event. French teacher Cindy Mauro, 38, and Spanish teacher Alini Brito, 34, went to a bar after school, then returned to attend a school singing competition in January 2011. They left the event and went into Room 337, when the custodian found the pair engaged in sexual activity. Both were naked from the waist up.  The school fired the pair, both of whom had tenure. The teachers denied any wrongdoing, saying that Brito needed to get something to eat to stabilize her blood sugar, and filed a lawsuit. On Thursday, the panel ruled, “The penalty of termination of unemployment is shockingly disproportion...

The March for traditional Marriage

Image
The essential purpose behind the March for Marriage is to send a clear and vital message to marriage advocates nationwide, and particularly to the many young people around our nation who may sometimes feel rather alone in holding on to the values of marriage and family passed down to them in their upbringing. That message is:  Countless millions of your fellow citizens SHARE your values! Take heart and stand with them! While much of the talk and effort in the marriage movement naturally focuses on our leaders occupying the halls of power and the ivory towers shaping public opinion from within the media and the academy,  here in America we believe in the strength of the ordinary citizen to change society for the better. The greatest political storm flutters only a fringe of humanity, but an ordinary man and an ordinary woman and their ordinary children will literally alter the destiny of nations. — GK Chesterton As a result, I firmly believe that the greatest asse...

Alberta premier resigns amidst spending scandals

Image
EDMONTON, Alberta , March 20, 2014  – Amidst spending scandals and a caucus revolt centering on her leadership, Alison Redford announced last night that she is stepping down as Alberta premier effective Sunday. Redford is a strong advocate of legal abortion and same-sex “marriage.” Premier Alison Redford at the 2013 Gay Pride Parade During the 2012 election campaign, she came out strongly against conscience rights for doctors, arguing that doctors should be forced to commit abortions and prescribe contraception even if it goes against their beliefs. She said it was a question of “diversity.” “I certainly respect people’s personal beliefs, but I believe in a province where we have to treat individuals with dignity and respect. We have to live in a community where we respect diversity and we understand that everyone feels safe and included,” she explained. She set a precedent for provincial government leaders in 2012 when she became the first Alberta premier to accept...
