Homosexual marriage can't be compared with interracial marriage

Image
Michael Bradley ,  a young Notre Dame philosophy graduate student , pushes back against the powerful governor of Massachusetts Deval Patrick , when the later argues that gay marriage is a civil right like interracial marriage : "Patrick first offers an argument that eludes this central question while simultaneously doing something rather insidious: employing the rhetoric of, and therefore inviting comparison to, the black civil rights movement in order to dress the same-sex marriage debate as just the next civil rights cause in marriage's sullied history. Such a move is predictable, old, tired and just a poor argument to make. In ruling the prohibition of interracial marriages unconstitutional  in 1967, the Supreme Court simply acknowledged that a man and woman of different ethnic backgrounds had all along been able to, in reality, form the sort of relationship that marriage is. That is, a white man and a black woman (for example) were just as able as a white man an...

No Truth Without Love, No Love Without Truth: The Church’s Great Challenge

Image
Author: Al Mohler. The church’s engagement with the culture involves a host of issues, controversies, and decisions–but no issue defines our current cultural crisis as clearly as homosexuality . Some churches and denominations have capitulated to the demands of the homosexual rights movement , and now accept homosexuality as a fully valid lifestyle. Other denominations are tottering on the brink, and without a massive conservative resistance, they are almost certain to abandon biblical truth and bless what the Bible condemns. Within a few short years, a major dividing line has become evident–with those churches endorsing homosexuality on one side, and those stubbornly resisting the cultural tide on the other. The homosexual rights movement understands that the evangelical church is one of the last resistance movements committed to a biblical morality . Because of this, the movement has adopted a strategy of isolating Christian opposition, and forcing change through political action...

Why Australians says they don't want homosexual marriage

Image
Rainbow flag. Symbol of gay pride. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) During a large public survey on Homosexual marriage, when asked to rate the importance of same sex marriage as an issue, relative to five other topical issues, same sex marriage  ranked lowest in importance, even lower than the other social issue   of voluntary euthanasia. With 61% of the sample believing that the  same sex marriage debate is a distraction from more important  issues, and only 1 in 7 in strongly support of changing the Marriage  Act, there is a warning here for politicians to ensure that resources   and time are not diverted from other more pressing issues of  domestic importance. (6) The survey also shows that a significant proportion of those in favour of same sex marriage also share the same concerns as those not in   favour of same sex marriage, in the following areas: - How children are raised, with an acknowledgement that being raised by one’s biological moth...

Australian Public opinion on Homosexual Marriage

Image
A nationally representative sample of 1204 Australian adults was interviewed on the topic of same sex marriage . Selection for inclusion in the survey was random, and participation was voluntary. The survey showed that: (1) When questions were asked of a similar nature to those asked in widely published opinion polls , the results were much the same, namely, that 58% of Australians agree that same sex couples should have the right to marry . (2) However, the current survey went further and also asked if Australians support or oppose changing the Marriage Act to include same sex marriage. Only 49% supported changing the Marriage Act. (3) The current survey also found that Australians are quite divided in their opinion of this, with large gaps between men and women, between those with religious affiliations and non-religious people, between those with different political views, and between older and younger Australians. Those most in favour of change are women, younger Australians,...

ELCA Pastor With Interesting View on Scripture and celebrating Homosexuality

Image
Is all of scripture God's Word or not? ELCA pastor Gary Eichhorn of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Oakwood, OH made an interesting statement in a recent news article. The article says this, "Gay Christians refer to the four to seven passages most often cited to attack homosexuality as 'the clobber passages.'  (Rev.) Eichhorn of Oakwood said none of them are from the gospels and none are quotations attributed to Jesus . 'I’d rather talk about the things Jesus talked about rather than the things he never talked about,' Eichhorn said."( read here ) So only the things Jesus said are important enough to warrant our thoughts, comments and preaching Rev. Eichhorn? Didn't God inspire all of scripture? If God inspired the writings of Peter (and all the writings of scripture), that means Peter wrote what God wanted him to write. What Peter (and all the Biblical authors) wrote is just as important as what Jesus said, because they all come from...

Confused liberal ELCA Lutherans claiming Homosexuality ia to be celebrated not confessed as sin

Image
Can you pick the theological errors and assumptions in this article below? For example: Jesus never mentions smoking, therefore it is okay to smoke? Because a sin is mentioned only a few times in scripture it can be ignored? 'Women shall remain silent' is a ban on total speech? Christians were involved in getting rid of slavery therefore they should help LGBT movement? The Bible can be interpreted by an individual anyway they want and make a public statement? The question that is not being asked or stated: Is there a spirit of deception emerging around the world regarding the LGBT sin? Has God sent a powerful delusion (2 Thess 2:11) to LGBT people and people who support homosexuality as normality when Romans 1 clearly tells us that it is an example of perverse sin? Why is there no call for repentance? ...................................................................................................... CHRISTIANITY, THE LGBT COMMUNITY AND GAY-FR...

Police protect immoral homosexual marriage from protesting families with children

Image
Vincent Autin and Bruno Boileau have become the first gay couple to wed in France , just days after president Francois Hollande signed the country's same-sex marriage bill into law . The men, aged 40 and 29, exchanged vows in front of about 600 guests at city hall in the southern city of Montpellier .  Montpellier mayor Helene Mandroux conducted the wedding ceremony , which was attended by dozens of members of the public and journalists. This was a political wedding with the knowledge that over 1 million French people gathered over the weekend to protest against this immoral law. "I cried when ( French president ) Hollande passed the law and I am still crying," she said. "I am proud of them." Montpellier is a bohemian city that boasts of being France's most gay-friendly town. Riot police on guard Outside the ceremony, up to 100 riot police were deployed to deal with any potential protests to protect legislated immorality. The ceremony marked ...

One million French protest against Homosexual marriage

Image
With two more American states legalizing  unmarriage,  with the Boy Scouts organization adopting a wholly unworkable compromise, with media and political figures in America throwing up their hands and throwing in the towel, it would be easy to get discouraged over marriage. But look to France . There, the amazing “Manif pour Tous” (Demonstration for All) is growing, not diminishing, in intensity. It is a movement largely composed of young people. For the fourth time in a year, pro-marriage demonstrators hit the streets of Paris in the hundreds of thousands. They brought together Catholics and Evangelicals, Jews, Muslims, and some atheists for marriage. They even recruited gay Frenchmen who understand that “everyone needs a mother and father.” One of the strongest arguments made by this Manif is that for the rights of children. Not only do they have a right to a mother and father, but they have a natural right  not to be treated as commodities....

18-year-old woman accused of statutory rape becomes homosexual icon

Image
A Sebastian, FL high school senior accused of an illicit sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl has become a rallying point in the gay rights debate.  “Stop the hate, free Kate,” is the battle cry of gay activists nationwide who are seeking to cast Kaitlyn Hunt, 18, as a martyr after she was arrested in February and charged with two felony counts of lewd and lascivious battery against a child between the ages of 12 and 16 for having sex with her 14-year-old girlfriend. The younger girl's name is being withheld because of victim protection laws.  Florida ’s age of consent is 18, or 15 as long as both partners are 18 and under.  If convicted, Hunt faces up to fifteen years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender.  Kaitlyn Hunt Hunt’s parents started a massive social media campaign after her arrest to build media and public support for their daughter, claiming on both their  webpage  and  Facebook group  that the only r...
