Catholics school board foolishly invite gay group to address students?

Image
Image via Wikipedia At an equity conference next month, Ontario ’s Dufferin-Peel Catholic school board will feature several homosexual activists including one gay magazine reporter who covered the 2010 Toronto Pride Parade, with video showing him gleefully interviewing various Pride participants, including men dressed in sado-masochistic thongs. Screenshot from video of Pihach reporting at Gay Pride parade . At one point in the video, the reporter lies down on the street as a man in drag simulates a sex act on him.  “This is the best Pride present ever.  I’m having a great Pride week ,” says Michael Pihach, a reporter with Xtra!, “Canada’s gay and lesbian newspaper.” (See  video here .   Warning: extremely offensive content. ) “I can’t believe that the school board would bring such people to a conference.  I don’t understand it,” said Francis Rodrigues, a concerned local Catholic in Dufferin-Peel.  “I mean, it’s common sense.  We’re entrust...

Catholics remain ignorant of Bible's condemnation of homosexuality

Image
Image via Wikipedia Support for same-sex “marriage” and civil unions runs high among the Catholic population, even claiming the majority of Catholics who attend Mass weekly, according to a poll released this month. The survey by the Public Religion Research Institute ( PRRI )  found  that Catholics surpass other Christians and even the general public in their support for homosexual unions, both as “marriage” and other marriage-like unions recognized by the state. The results among Catholics were broken down among those who attend Mass weekly or more (38 percent of Catholics), once or twice per month (20 percent), or less often (41 percent). Support for same-sex “marriage” was far higher among the last group with 59 percent support, and only 16 percent against all types of homosexual unions. But even among those attending Mass weekly or more, only 31 percent were against legal recognition of homosexual unions; 26 percent favored same-sex “marriage” and 38 percent favored ...

Caboolture Catholic School promotes homosexuality but denies truth

Image
An Queensland Catholic secondary school has withdrawn permission for an event featuring a former homosexual speaker at the school, saying the presenter is not in line with Christian values and that “the Catholic Church abhors all forms of homophobia.” Ann Rebgetz, principle at St. Columban’s College, wrote in a statement  that Miracle Christian Center, the group intending to put on the event, requested permission to hold a “meeting” at the secondary school, without informing the school of the “nature of the ‘meeting.’”  Miracle Christian Center ( MCC ), a world-wide Christian church ministry group that aims at “global evangelization,” advertized the American speaker, Adam Hood , as, “A straight man who used to be a homosexual.” Newspaper advertisements said Hood would “tell his story of how he was set free from homosexuality and now leads a strong Christian life with his wife and family.” “Can a homosexual be free from same sex thoughts, attractions and feelings? Ad...

Equality Matters just wants silence from the Church on Homosexuality

Image
Image via Wikipedia A Catholic priest has come under fire from homosexual activists for “anti-gay indoctrination” after he taught his students what the Catholic Church teaches about homosexuality in his high school course on gay “marriage.” Equality Matters , a media and communications group for homosexual rights, on their website accused the chaplain of Indianapolis’ Cardinal Ritter High School of “spouting a stream of homophobic and offensive falsehoods about same-sex marriage and gay people in general to a classroom full of students.” Fr. John Hollowell, chaplain and teacher at the private Catholic high school , had posted the videos of the lectures on  YouTube  and his  personal blog  last week.  In the lectures he explains Catholic teaching on homosexuality. However, his presentation was denounced as “anti-gay lecturing” by the media watchdog group, who said that the priest “calls homosexual acts ‘an abomination’, advocates for ex-gay therapy , and ra...

New queer gender bill

Image
Image via Wikipedia A bill that would add “sexual orientation” and “ gender identity ” as prohibited grounds of discrimination in the workplace is due to be introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday, although its primary supporter doubts the latest attempt will succeed. Rep. Barney Frank (D- MA ) has said he will reintroduce the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) this week, a measure that has been introduced in every Congress but one since 1994, consistently failing to gather enough support for passage. Frank himself was less than optimistic regarding the bill’s chances, telling the gay news service Metro Weekly that the current Republican majority would undoubtedly kill the measure. “It’s an organizing tool. Obviously, with the Republicans in power, you’re not going to get the bill even considered,” said Frank. Frank nonetheless said he would be working to build consensus behind the measure’s protection of “transgender” individuals, a provision that...

California Schools caught in Leno's homosexual trap

Image
Image via Wikipedia A bill that would require California public schools to revise their social science curricula to incorporate study of the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans was passed by the California Senate Education Committee last Wednesday. The bill, SB 48, was introduced by openly homosexual state Senator Mark Leno . It passed the ten member Education Committee by a vote of 6 to 3 with one abstaining, and has been referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee , where it will be considered in early April. If passed, the law would affect the curriculum for students as early as kindergarten. It contains no provision allowing parents to exclude their children or for teachers to opt out of teaching the new material. Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a similar bill in 2006. If SB 48 is passed by the Legislature, however, it is expected that current Democratic Governor Jerry Brown will sign it into law.Supporters of the bill argu...

Sodomy is unhealthy

Image
Image via Wikipedia The controversial ‘transgender’ bill died on the order paper after the Canadian Parliament was dissolved over the weekend with the election call for May 2nd. Bill C-389, which sought to add “gender identity” and “ gender expression ” to the Canada Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code ’s hate crimes section, had moved to the Senate after it passed in the House of Commons February 9th in a vote of 143-135. The bill, which was opposed by numerous religious and pro-family organizations, was dubbed a ‘bathroom bill’ because it would allow men who say they are women to use women’s washrooms. Opponents said this could lead to an increase in bathroom attacks against women and children. The bill’s future could be in doubt as its sponsor, NDP member Bill Siksay , who made two previous attempts to get it passed in 2006 and 2007, has opted not to run in the current election.  Though numerous senators supported the bill, Siksay had failed to find a senator to bring it...

Sexual orientation forces changes in religious beliefs

Image
Recognizing “sexual orientation” and “ gender identity ” as grounds for non-discrimination in new federal housing regulations could require faith-based groups to violate their religious beliefs, warned the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) last week. The new regulations from the Department of Housing and Urban Development ( HUD ) would require that organizations participating in HUD programs not discriminate on these two grounds. But the regulations could “force” faith-based organizations to violate their religious beliefs by requiring – as a condition for HUD funds – that they make housing available to homosexual or unmarried couples, wrote USCCB General Counsel Anthony R. Picarello, Jr. and Associate General Counsel Michael F. Moses in a March 25th letter. “By this, we do not mean that any person should be denied housing,” the attorneys stressed. “Making decisions about  shared  housing, however, is another matter.” “Particularly here, faith-based and othe...

Gay groups trying force church give up adoption ministry

Image
Image via Wikipedia Government officials in Illinois are reconsidering the Catholic Church ’s involvement in adoptions after gay activists complained that the Church refuses to give up children to homosexual couples who have obtained a “civil union” under the new civil union law. An official with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) told the  Windy City Times , a gay news service, in a March 9 article that the new civil unions legislation had complicated the state’s relationship with church groups that handle adoption services. DCFS spokesman Kendall Marlowe said that an “an ongoing review of all the related legal issues” was in the works. The Windy City Times claimed that the result of that review “will likely come down to a choice for the agencies involved: Change their policy and allow for openly gay and lesbian people to be licensed as foster parents or lose state funding.” The development had been anticipated by concerned Church leaders: in No...
