Homosexual conduct is harmful

Image
Family Research Council believes that homosexual conduct is harmful to the persons who engage in it and to society at large, and can never be affirmed. It is by definition unnatural, and as such is associated with negative physical and psychological health effects. While the origins of same-sex attractions may be complex, there is no convincing evidence that a homosexual identity is ever something genetic or inborn. We oppose the vigorous efforts of homosexual activists to demand that homosexuality be accepted as equivalent to heterosexuality in law, in the media, and in schools. Attempts to join two men or two women in "marriage" constitute a radical redefinition and falsification of the institution, and FRC supports state and federal constitutional amendments to prevent such redefinition by courts or legislatures. Sympathy must be extended to those who struggle with unwanted same-sex attractions, and every effort should be made to assist such persons to overcome tho...

Christian compassion requires the truth about harms of homosexuality

Image
The media has recently been filled with reports of several recent suicides by teenagers who are reported to have been victims of “anti-gay” bullying. Some homosexual activist groups lay blame at the feet of conservative Christians who teach that homosexual conduct is wrong, as well as pro-family groups such as Family Research Council which oppose elements of the homosexual political agenda, such as same-sex “marriage.” The Christians and pro-family leaders I know are unanimous in believing that no person, especially a child, should be subjected to verbal or physical harassment or violence–whether because of their sexuality, their religious beliefs, or for any other reason. Such bullying violates the Christian’s obligation to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, and receives no support from the pro-family political movement. Where bullying has occurred, the blame should be placed on the bullies themselves–not on organizations within society who clearly oppose bullying. I sus...

Kids locked into devastating homosexual lifestyle

Image
If kids are looking for a way out of their same-sex attractions , they’ll have to start outside of the DC - nation’s capital. Under a measure just passed by the D.C. Council , counselors can lose their license just for offering the kind of therapy these children seek. Like California and New Jersey , the District is radically opposed to helping young people shake the unwanted sexual feelings they have for members of the same sex. It’s all part of the new Conversion Therapy for Minors Prohibition Act, which makes it a crime for therapists and mental health practitioners to coach children out of the sexual confusion they’re experiencing. Council member and author Mary Cheh insists that the District’s move is “a crucial step in the long battle” against “the counterproductive anti-homosexual mindset.” The fact that children are seeking this help doesn’t seem to matter to D.C., which is intent on locking kids into a lifestyle with devastating health, emotional, and societal consequenc...

HRC & GLAAD Bullies - abuse Christian man

Image
The gay lobby bullies are at it again. This time they've attacked one of the most popular Christians in America . They are calling him "vile" and say he is pushing "extreme stereotypes" and "lies." The grossly misnamed Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and their Hollywood ally GLAAD have demanded that this person and sacked.   What is this man guilty of that would spur such "outrage" and result in him being banned by A&E? Phil Robertson told GQ magazine he believes that homosexuality is a sin. He says engaging in homosexuality is sinful. He says that "everything is blurred on what's right and wrong...sin becomes fine." He told the magazine (in colorful language) that he doesn't understand why a man would engage in homosexual sex when the beauty of a woman is available. And he also said that he doesn't judge anyone (that is the job of Almighty God , he says), that he loves all people, and that, "I would never ...

The real cost of homosexual adoption

Image
In all the debate over gay adoptions and Catholic Charities , the Church’s teaching that gay adoption does “spiritual violence” to the kids has been ignored at best or dismissed as “homophobia” at worst. Instead, we’re told over and over that same-sex parents are wonderful, with hints that they may be even better than normal opposite-sex parents because they take kids who straight parents pass up and even that they appreciate the kids more because they can’t have biological kids of their own. But is that the reality? The National Catholic Register sought out kids of same-sex parents for their take on how it affected them. Charles Mitchell and two brothers were adopted as infants by two men. He called same-sex adoption “a tragic social experiment ” and said, “ homosexuality destroyed a normal way of life for us.” Often, the homosexual parents shown in the media are straight-laced, responsible men. Mitchell said that his “dad” and “uncle” weren’t unlike that. But “it’s not just...

Homosexual predation on youth

Image
The media may have painted the same-sex adoption fight as a battle over religious freedom. But there’s much more at stake. When Massachusetts wanted to force Catholic Charities ’ adoption services to submit to the Massachusetts Supreme Court ruling about homosexual “marriage,” the Church refused. The media played the story as a simple confrontation over religious rights — as if Catholic Charities’ right to affirm traditional marriage is only defensible in the same way as tribal religions’ rights to get high from peyote buttons. People like Charles Mitchell who grew up with homosexual parents know that the Church’s opposition to the practice isn’t an eccentricity of Catholic belief. It’s a bold, counter-cultural stand in defense of children. Charles Mitchell and two brothers were adopted as infants by two men. He called same-sex adoption “a tragic social experiment” and said, “homosexuality destroyed a normal way of life for us.” Often, the homosexual parents shown in the media ar...

LGBT Transgenderism - confusion

Image
When the practice of sex-change surgery first emerged back in the early 1970s, I would often remind its advocating psychiatrists that with other patients, alcoholics in particular, they would quote the Serenity Prayer , “God, give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” Where did they get the idea that our sexual identity (“gender” was the term they preferred) as men or women was in the category of things that could be changed? Their regular response was to show me their patients. Men (and until recently they were all men) with whom I spoke before their surgery would tell me that their bodies and sexual identities were at variance. Those I met after surgery would tell me that the surgery and hormone treatments that had made them “women” had also made them happy and contented. None of these encounters were persuasive, however. The post-surgical subjects struck me as caricatures of wom...
