British magistrate fired for opposing gay adoption: ‘I believe we need to stand and say what is right’

Image
Richard Page , the magistrate recently fired for preferring to place children for adoption with heterosexual couples rather than same-sex ones, has to fight not only his dismissal but insults and lies thrown at him by TV host Piers Morgan . Page, who was suspended last year for stating to two fellow judges at an adoption hearing that heterosexual couples made better parents than homosexual ones, was sacked earlier this month because he told a BBC audience the same thing and framed his treatment as discriminatory. “I’m doing this because other Christians are telling me they fear for their jobs, and for the glory of God." The 69 year-old, who serves as a lay Baptist preacher in his home village of Headcorn, is willingly defending his action to the print and electronic media, even to the openly pro-homosexual ITV host Piers Morgan, because he wants to defend the jobs of other Christians, not his own. “I’m doing this because other Christians are telling me they fear for their ...

New York’s governor, leftist mayors target North Carolina over bathroom protections

Image
Three mayors, a governor, and several LGBT advocacy groups are targeting North Carolina 's new law protecting the privacy of the state's citizens. Last week, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) , the ACLU of North Carolina, Lambda Legal , and Equality North Carolina sued to overturn the law, which was signed by Governor Pat McCrory on Wednesday. The measure overturned a Charlotte ordinance requiring all businesses and public buildings to allow citizens identifying as transgender to use their preferred bathrooms, locker rooms, and similar facilities. “We’re challenging this extreme and discriminatory measure in order to ensure that everyone who lives in and visits North Carolina is protected under the law,” said Chris Brook, Legal Director of the ACLU of North Carolina, in a statement. “No legislature should be using its power to require cities, counties, or school districts to discriminate against anyone. This law is a targeted and unprecedented attack on the ...

Georgia’s GOP gov. vetoes bill to stop pastors from being forced to perform gay ‘weddings’

Image
Facing a nationwide boycott that threatened the economic well-being of his state, the governor of Georgia announced Monday that he would veto a bill to enshrine First Amendment protections for pastors and religious organizations with a traditional view of marriage. The Free Exercise Protection Act (H.B. 757) would have specified that clergy do not have to perform same-sex “marriages,” and that religious organizations do not have to rent out their facilities for such a ceremony, nor do they have to hire anyone if doing so would violate the group's sincerely held religious beliefs about human sexuality. The bill also forbade the state from requiring businesses to remain open on Saturday or Sunday if doing so would prevent attendance at religious services. Gov. Deal , a Republican, said Monday that he favored the early version of the bill. But the NFL threatened to pull the Super Bowl out of the state if it passed. A coalition of Hollywood studios including Disney and M...

San Francisco’s giants of intolerance

Image
San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee (D) may have just given North Carolina the greatest religious liberty thank-you gift ever! The out-of-control leader  announced over the weekend  that he’s banning travel to the state after the legislature put the brakes on a dangerous transgender bill that would have posed a serious safety risk to everyone in Charlotte. To protest the popular repeal (unanimous in the General Assembly, as a matter of fact), Mayor Lee declared that his city is “standing united as San Franciscans to condemn North Carolina… Effective immediately, I am directing city departments under my authority to bar any publicly-funded city employee travel to the state of North Carolina that is not absolutely essential to public health and safety.” Given the  record rates of sexually transmitted diseases  in Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s (D) district, North Carolinians probably aren’t looking to San Francisco for a lesson in public safety! Governor Pat McCrory (R), who mad...

My response to a ‘cisgendered’ trans activist who called me a ‘disgusting human being’

Image
I get all kinds of interesting calls on the phone. I never really know who it might be. Sometimes a politician or a school trustee. Sometimes a bishop. Sometimes a crank.  I’m glad I didn’t pick up phone calls on Saturday. Instead, I let them go to voicemail. But when I checked one message later that evening, I couldn’t believe what someone — who identified himself as a “moral human being” — went out of his way to tell me.  “Hello Pete, I just read your article written on January 18. And I have to say you are an absolutely disgusting human being,” the caller said.  My mind immediately went racing. What article had I written on that date that so offended this fellow? I continued listening to the message. “I mean seriously, don’t you understand that some people are naturally transgendered, that accepting them does not in any way threaten anybody else’s way of life. And how can you say that the LGBT movement is trying to destroy…” The caller went on to ...

LGBT Demonic went down to Georgia

Image
The devil has gone to Georgia again, but this time it was in the form of Big Business and cowardly politicians. In a  staggering announcement yesterday morning , the two-term governor of the Peach State has capitulated to big business and decided to give the government a blank check to punish Georgia’s men and women of faith. Days after a watered-down religious liberty bill sailed through both houses of the legislature, Governor Deal has decided that even the flimsiest of protections for churches are too much for Georgia’s Christians. Like Hollywood and Big Business, he thinks the state should be able to dictate what people believe -- and torment those who don’t conform. Sound familiar? It should. Any totalitarian regime operates by the same philosophy. And while the persecution takes different forms, the effect is still the same: faith-based oppression. According to Deal, a bill so weak that it wouldn’t even protect the nuns at Little Sisters of the Poor “doesn’t refl...

Gay men want to go to women's toilet and dressing rooms?

Image
All across the country, radical LGBT extremists are demanding that men be treated as if they were women if the men decide they "identify" as a woman at a particular moment. This has led to girls and women being confronted by biological males in the most intimate of facilities — showers, locker rooms and restrooms . Needless to say, such a situation is a grave violation of privacy and raises very serious security and safety concerns. When given the opportunity, voters have soundly rejected these "transgender bathroom bill" policies but the LGBT extremists have used their power to get gutless politicians to cave in to their demands. That is what happened in Charlotte, NC when the City Council voted to risk the privacy and security of girls and women to placate the political demands of the LGBT extremists. Fortunately, the North Carolina General Assembly and Governor Pat McCrory put their feet down and said "enough is enough" to these dangerous poli...
