Homosexual acts cannot be approved or celebrated by the Church – Here’s why

Image
English: Drawing of a Macaroni or Molly, an 18th Century term for effeminate homosexual. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) In recent years, homosexuality has frequently been in the news. An increasingly nationwide effort to make homosexual acts something to celebrate has gained great ground and sowed serious confusion even among those who describe themselves as Christian and Catholic. Hence, it is necessary once again to instruct on this matter and to reassert what Scripture plainly teaches and why the Church cannot affirm what the world demands we affirm. An essential fact is that the Scriptures are very clear in unambiguously, uncompromisingly declaring homosexual acts as a serious sin and as disordered.  “Disordered” here means that they are acts that are not ordered to their proper end or purpose. Sexual acts are, by their very nature, ordered to procreation and to the bonding of the mother and father who will raise the children conceived by their se...

Male friendship, not ‘bromance’

Image
Cover of William Shakespeare In January 1944, German pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer sat in a Gestapo prison. He passed the time by writing, and in one of many letters to his dear friend Eberhard Bethge , Bonhoeffer tenderly reflected on what Bethge meant to him. Back then his missives didn’t raise eyebrows. They sounded like those of so many before him who, in moments of triumph and trial, had taken their greatest joy in the love of a friend of the same sex. Of course, times have changed. Years after Bonhoeffer’s death, while speaking publicly about their friendship, Bethge found himself facing an awkward question: Surely, said one audience member, your friendship with Dietrich “must [have been] a homosexual partnership.” How else could Bethge explain the startling affection Bonhoeffer had for him? Bonhoeffer and Bethge’s friendship was not an isolated victim of this kind of revisionism. Modern readers seem to be on a virtual crusade to open every closet in history. Thus, we’re told...

Genderism – a new ideology destroying the family

Image
Karl Marx (1818-1883) (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Editor’s Note: The following address by German author and social commentator Gabriele Kuby was delivered earlier this month in Moscow at the International Forum on Large Families and the Future of Humanity. We are witnessing an astonishing historical shift. More than a hundred years ago, Marxism declared the relationship of man and woman in monogamous marriage as “the first class antagonism” in history. This “class-conflict” had to be overcome by destroying marriage and the family. So in 1917, Alexandra Kollontai , the first woman commissar of the Bolshevik Central Committee, set out to put this into practise through the exercise of revolutionary power: A law for the dissolution of marriage Legalization of abortion Sexual freedom for youth Legalization of homosexuality Integration of women into the production process, and Bringing up children in collective state institutions. But even Lenin soon realized that this ...

Gosford Anglican Priest Rod Bower says Jesus believed in marriage equality

Image
The Australian ABC reports that "Father Rod Bower is not your average priest. The Anglican Church minister is on a mission to keep religion relevant, and is using his parish notice board in Gosford on the NSW Central Coast as a way to get noticed." His most successful (and immoral and non-biblical) message was one about marriage equality . He is quoting a Stonewall's (pro-homosexual anti Christian organization) UK campaign that used UK buses to force the idea of immoral homosexuality onto everybody. PHOTO:  Father Bower's sign addressing the debate around gay marriage.  (ABC TV) With the help of social media it has been seen by an estimated 50 million around the world. The ABC quotes Bower directly "What inspires me and us, as a faith community of course, is the life and teachings of Jesus .  So we stand for what He stood for, what we believe He stood for, which was justice and equality , compassion and a society that looks after the edges, that ...

Free the Children manager resigns after report on his work as gay stripper

A manager at the popular Canadian charity Free the Children who helped run the organization’s We Day events, spoke frequently at schools, and led youth trips overseas has resigned after  LifeSiteNews  reported he was moonlighting as a gay stripper. Michael Lorsch, former manager of Free the Children's leadership programs in Toronto , resigned Friday after  LifeSiteNews  ran two stories on  August 14  and  August 18  about his role as a performer in the homosexual-themed troupe Boylesque, which aims to put “male nudity and sexuality back center-stage where it belongs.” In a statement that Free the Children provided to  LifeSiteNews  Friday, Lorsch says he is stepping down for the sake of the organization. (Free the Children asked that the entire statement be included “instead of only running excerpts to suite [sic] your agenda.” The full letter is published below.)Lorsch, who performs under the stage name Mickey D. Liscious, is d...

U.S. Supreme Court unanimously blocks gay ‘marriages’ in Virginia…for now

Image
U.S. Supreme Court building. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The U.S. Supreme Court ruled unanimously today that the state of Virginia does not have to begin sanctioning same-sex “marriages.” The stay comes after a panel of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 to  strike down the state's constitutional marriage protection amendment . The appeals court refused to grant a stay until the Supreme Court decided the case, a decision that would have forced Virginia clerks to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples  starting this week . However, one such clerk, Michele B. McQuigg , petitioned Chief Justice John Roberts to grant a stay. The order was allowed without dissent. “This is another indication that the rush to judgment declaring marriage to be unconstitutional is not only premature, but incorrect,” said Brian Brown, president of the  National Organization for Marriage . “The U.S. Supreme Court has determined that states have the right to de...

Catholic couple fined $13,000 for refusing to host same-sex ‘wedding’ at their farm

The New York State Division of Human Rights (DHR) has ruled that the Roman Catholic owners of an Albany-area farm violated the civil rights of a lesbian couple when they declined to host the couple’s same-sex “marriage” ceremony in 2012. Robert and Cynthia Gifford, who own and operate Liberty Ridge Farm in Schaghticoke, were ordered by DHR Judge Migdalia Pares and Commissioner Helen Diane Foster to pay $10,000 in fines to the state and an additional $3,000 in damages to the lesbian couple, Jennie McCarthy and Melissa Erwin for “mental pain and suffering.”  Additionally, the Giffords must provide sensitivity training to their staff, and prominently display a  poster  highlighting state anti-discrimination laws. Robert and Cynthia Gifford The Giffords’ attorney, Jim Trainor, told LifeSiteNews that the two-year-legal drama and resulting fines all stemmed from a single brief phone call in 2012 that caught his clients off guard. “The entire interaction between ...
