Australia: Archbishop escapes further trial but Anti-Discrimination laws still stop free speech

Image
One of Australia's leading Christian groups has today spoken out over news that a complaint against Hobart’s Catholic Archbishop Julian Porteous and the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference has been dropped. The Australian Christian Lobby welcomed news of the complaint being dropped by the complainant, Greens candidate Martine Delaney. However, Australian Christian Lobby Managing Director Lyle Shelton said it was a travesty of justice that Tasmania’s Anti-Discrimination Commissioner believed the Archbishop had a case to answer simply for distributing the Catholic Church marriage booklet “Don’t Mess with Marriage.” “What Archbishop Porteous did was completely reasonable and he should have the right to express a point of view on marriage,” Mr Shelton said. “This was an example of where State-based Human Rights Commissions are often being weaponised by activists against those with different views. “A complaint does not even have to be legally defensible for process to sta

Texas AG to Target: Show me how you’ll protect women and kids from criminals

Image
The latest backlash Target received as a result of its transgender bathroom policy was a letter from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton asking the company to provide its safety policies to protect women and children from “those who would use the cover of Target’s restroom policy for nefarious purposes.”  “Target, of course, is free to choose such a policy for its Texas stores,” Paxton wrote in a letter to Target CEO Brian Cornell. He noted the possibility of the Texas Legislature addressing the issue in the future, but said, “regardless of whether Texas legislates on this topic, it is possible that allowing men in women’s restrooms could lead to criminal and otherwise unwanted activity.” “As chief lawyer and law enforcement officer for the State of Texas , I ask that you provide the full text of Target’s safety policies regarding the protection of women and children from those who would use the cover of Target’s restroom policy for nefarious purposes,” Paxton   continued

I used to be transgender. Here’s my take on kids who think they are transgender.

When a 9-year-old boy who identifies as Stormi, a transgender girl, started selling Girl Scout cookies , one neighbor was not amused, according to  Buzzfeed . The neighbor rebuffed him, reportedly saying, “Nobody wants to buy Girl Scout cookies from a boy in a dress.” The neighbor is being called transphobic—but perhaps the neighbor thought he was being pranked by a boy and reacted accordingly. Not everyone assumes that a boy in a dress selling Girl Scout cookies is transgender. People Can Be Genderphobic Stormi looked like a boy to the neighbor because he really is a boy. Transgender people may deceive themselves, but they do not deceive others. Life in society is not some fantasy world where a boy should pretend he has magically transformed himself into a girl simply by uttering the words “I am a girl” and changing how he presents himself. The people who strongly object to the honest reaction from a man saying, “Nobody wants to buy Girl Scout cookies from a boy in

Georgia passes bill to protect pastors from forced participation in gay ‘marriages’

Image
Clergy in the state of Georgia are one step closer to reinforced conscience protection after legislation passed by the Georgia House Thursday. House Bill 757 , also known as the Pastor Protection Act, protects religious officials from being forced to imitate marriage ceremonies for same-sex couples and was approved in a 161-0 vote, moving on now to the Georgia Senate . "Religious officials shall not be required to perform marriage ceremonies, perform rites, or administer sacraments in violation of their legal right to free exercise of religion ," the bill states. It also says refusal by an ordained person shall not result in a civil claim or cause of action against him, nor result in any state action of retribution toward him based on the refusal. The legislation protects churches from being forced to involve themselves in same-sex ceremonies as well and is considered the least controversial among numerous religious liberty bills currently under consideration in

Caribbean Christians resist homosexual agenda

Image
Christians in many Caribbean territories being pressured by developed countries and international agencies to normalize homosexuality are joining in prayer and sharing resources to defend family values and Bible-taught sexual mores. In a shrewd appeal to nationalist sentiment as well as biblical truth, Barbadian sociologist Veronica Evelyn told a rally of approximately 6,000 islanders gathered at Bridgetown's Bay Street Esplanade on November 22, "A handful of wealthy nations in North America and Europe have decided to turn the world upside-down, to deconstruct society with new, ungodly versions of family and marriage." The rally was an attempt to mobilize Christian churches to become actively involved in public affairs, including sexual rights issues. Dr. Evelyn, a key organizer of the event, warned, "Today, family, faith and freedom are under severe and persistent attack in Barbados, the entire Caribbean, and across the world." Judge forces mom to give her baby to homosexual couple: the latest case of surrogacy’s folly

Image
A convoluted custody dispute over an artificially conceived child has left the mother bereft and homosexual and Christian activists at loggerheads. The case of "H versus S" ended when the 44-year-old mother, "S," breastfed her 15-month old child for the last time in the courthouse cafeteria and handed him over to the waiting sperm donor dad, "H," and his homosexual partner. Both Romanian immigrants, H and S were also longtime friends who had informally agreed to conceive a child artificially together using a home insemination kit. But the relationship broke down, the mother denied the father and his lover parenting rights, and the courts took over. The judge who ruled on the appeal in the homosexual couple's favor, Alison Russell, has used the case to call for legislation, as in the United States, forcing those involved in surrogacy arrangements to agree to formal legal contracts. "The UK however does not have such an approach in

Radical legislation aims to mainstream homosexuality, transgenderism in New York

Image
Pro-abortion and LGBT activists are pushing New York City's Department of Education to incorporate gender ideology and LGBT issues into curricula for K-12 students. The proposed legislation also requires regular accountability from the City's Education Department regarding school compliance with the state on certain sex education programs for middle and high school students. "It's time we discuss sex education in an affirming way that includes all the identities that our students may identify with and continue to review and expand on the curriculum as the times change," said transgender/bisexual-identified man Bryan Ellicott, a former NYC public school student and current LGBTQ activist, in a   report   from   The Brooklyn Reader . "I want our New York City school children to be more knowledgeable and the ability to make better choices than I was, more able to possibly live in their own skin more comfortably." New York City Council member L

Homosexuality is often seen as the worst of sins. But, what does the Bible say?

Homosexuality is often seen as the worst of sins. But, what does the Bible say? 1. Any sin is enough to condemn to eternal Hell Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command. They ate something God told them not to, and billions of people will end up burning in Hell because of it. That should give us a small idea about God’s holiness and how He views sin. James 2:10-11 is clear. Any sin puts us in the category of being law-breakers. We are criminals, and we will be judged. By nature and by choice, we all deserve Hell. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it. 11 For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. However, notice that James 2:10-11 does not affirm what many claim it does, that is, that all sins are identical and that if you’ve committed one sin, you’ve committed them all. James does not say, “If you do not commit

Australian Labor party may force all their party to vote for homosexual marriage

(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Further evidence of the intolerance of the leading voices in the same-sex marriage debate will be on display again at this weekend’s Australian Labor Party National Conference in Melbourne . At its last conference in 2011, Labor changed its party policy to support redefining marriage in law. It was a terrible blow to have one of the two major political parties capitulate. However, at that time, Labor made an important concession. Normally conscience votes on both sides of politics are reserved for life or death matters such as abortion or euthanasia. But in this case, after tense backroom negotiations, Labor decided to depart from this political rule of thumb and allow its parliamentarians a conscience vote . Under Labor’s party rules, parliamentarians who vote against party policy are automatically expelled. (The Liberal’s don’t expel

Ottawa girls meet with gay activist after Catholic school board approved ‘gay rights’ project

English: St. Joseph Catholic High School in Barrhaven, a suburb of Ottawa, Ontario. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) T he Ottawa Catholic School Board reversed the decision of one of its principals last week, allowing two grade six girls to go ahead with a project on “gay rights.” Board chairperson Ted Hurley said it had become “clear” that the girls’ purpose was in line with Catholic teaching and merely aimed “to combat the kinds of behaviour and attitudes that can lead to bullying of gay people.” However, on the weekend the girls were photographed lunching with the founder of a homosexual activist organization that exists to promote the normalization of homosexuality among young people in school. The photo, taken by one of the girls’ moms and  posted to Twitter  on Sunday, shows 11-year-old Quinn Maloney-Tavares and her friend Polly Hamilton posing with homosexual activist Jeremy Dias, founder of Jer’s Vision, in an Ottawa -area restaurant. The tweet read: “Lunch with Jer fro
