Wedding business defends double-page advert calling gay marriage a ‘perversion’
A wedding business has taken out a double-page ad to tell homosexual people to find another venue that will take their booking, after a same-sex couple inquired about their service. Bob and Genie Flournoy rent out their picturesque mansion and run a bed and breakfast in East Texas for wedding celebrations. But their business, Texas Forest Country Weddings, felt the need to advertise that it will not support any ‘perversion of marriage’ after a gay couple inquired about using their facilities. The advert, printed in local publication Journey Magazine, said: ‘Our Christian faith demands that we not participate in homosexual, transgender or any other perversion of marriage. ‘If you disagree with our stance on marriage, please respect our Christian belief and have your wedding elsewhere.’ Bob recently appeared on local TV station , KTRE-TV , to defend the advert that was published back in July.
