King James Version of the Bible (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) How can two people who profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ , who minister in the name of Jesus, who teach the Word of God and who worship from the heart be on opposite sides of a moral issue—an issue that the Bible addresses? How can one person adamantly say that something is natural and right, and the other vehemently state that it is unnatural and wrong?  The answer is quite simple: people interpret the Bible differently, and people see “truth” differently. The practice of homosexuality has polarized many. Where can the answer be found? What is truly God’s heart on homosexuality? Every person needs to pray, “Lord, teach me the truth … and teach me to correctly handle Your Word of Truth .”          “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”         (2 Timothy 2:15)      ARGUMENT #1       “God prohibited homosexu

For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. (1:26–27) For this reason, Paul declares-that is, because of man’s rejecting the true God for false gods of his own making, for worshiping the creature rather than the Creator-God gave them over to degrading passions. For the second time (see v. 24) the apostle mentions God’s abandonment of sinful mankind. He abandoned them not only to idolatry, the ultimate sexual expression of man’s spiritual degeneracy, but also to degrading passions, which he identifies in these two verses as homosexuality , the ultimate expression of man’s moral degeneracy. Q. What is homosexuality? Homosexuality is the manifestation of sexual desire toward a member of one's own sex or the erotic activity with a member of the same sex. (The Greek word homos means the same). A lesbian is a female homosexual. More recently the term "gay" has come into popular use to refer to both sexes who are homosexuals. Q. How does one determine if the practice of homosexuality is right or wrong? That depends upon who is answering the question. The Christian point of view is based solely upon the Bible, the divinely inspired Word of God. A truly Christian standard of ethics is the conduct of divine revelation, not of statistical research nor of public opinion. For the Christian, the Bible is the final authority for both belief and behaviour. Q. What explicitly does the Bible teach about homosexuality?
