April 1, 2013 ( N ewsbusters.org ) – As thousands trekked across the country this week to protest at the Supreme Court while justices heard arguments on Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the media did the same by voicing their own opinions. From the networks to online news sites, so-called neutral journalists twisted coverage in support of gay marriage. CBS led the network pack and  focused a one-sided light  on Tuesday evening reports, the night of the first Supreme Court arguments. CBS went personal March 26 as reporter John Blackstone, during “Evening News,” highlighted a story of lesbian couple Torri and Sunnie. The program showed  at least 12 different video  or photo clips of gay weddings and quoted two gay marriage advocates – with one traditional marriage supporter. Joseph Baken admitted in court today that he had perpetrated a hoax by telling police three men had beaten him because he was homosexual, lacerating his face. A photo of Joseph Baken's bruised face went viral, but it turns out that the story behind where Baken got the bruises was a hoax. Baken initially said he entered the Missoula Club last Saturday to celebrate his 22nd birthday, announced he was gay, and asked for directions to a gay bar. NEW BRITAIN, Connecticut , July 5, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - A lesbian student at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) won the sympathy of hundreds of students who rallied to her defense against anti-gay remarks before police say video evidence forced her to admit she planted the messages herself. Alexandra Pennell, 19, has been barred from state universities for five years and faces several felony charges after the young woman was caught on tape planting the threatening notes that had been the source of campus-wide outrage.
