When Christians are bullied by the pro- homosexual government agenda

“We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we in agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves.” —Isaiah 28:15, KJV March 21, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Recently, the  Toronto Star —that purported clarion of journalistic objectivity that is in reality little more than a running endorsement of secular humanist causes—focused on the alleged plight of a woman described as “a Catholic, a mom and a lesbian,” a combination of terms that would have been not only socially unacceptable in any previous age but both a biological and theological impossibility.  One may have been a lesbian but not in convergence with motherhood or faithful membership in the Roman Catholic Church . But that really was another age.  In this progressive era, this mother of two was shocked to discover  that, despite the dictates of the Royal Dalton government, St. Joseph’s Catholic Element

JOHN’S, Newfoundland, January 24, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - After major efforts in British Columbia and Ontario , the push for gay-straight alliances in schools is moving east. The Newfoundland government announced Monday that they have allocated $90,000 for a new initiative to promote the controversial clubs in the province’s schools. The government is teaming up with the national activist group Egale to develop a new teacher resource for grades 7-12 called MyGSA that will help schools establish the clubs.  Under the partnership, Egale will deliver teacher-training workshops on “LGBT” inclusivity and will produce an Equity and Inclusive Education Resource Kit tailored to the province. The program, set to be delivered in the spring of 2012, is modeled after a similar one in Ontario, though it appears Kathy Dunderdale ’s Progressive Conservative government is taking a less authoritarian tack than O

Ontario government thanks some confused Catholic leaders who support of gay anti-bullying bill

TORONTO, Ontario , January 19, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Ontario’s Education Minister says she was “so grateful” to have the head of the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association at her side as she announced the government’s controversial anti-bullying bill in November. OCSTA President Nancy Kirby (l) with Minister Laurel Broten (r) after Broten's press conference on the anti-bullying bill at Queen's Park. In a video aired at a Jan. 13th gathering of Catholic trustees, Minister Laurel Broten praised OCSTA president Nancy Kirby’s support for the bill, which has been criticized by religious groups and opposition politicians for its strong emphasis on “sexual orientation.” “At Queen’s Park when I announced our comprehensive action plan to tackle bullying, I was so proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Catholic teachers and trustees,” says Broten in a recording obtained by LifeSiteNews.  “Your president, Nancy Kirby, was right there with me. I was so grateful. Thank yo

Bullying in the name of anti-bullying

Image
Image via Wikipedia On Nov. 30, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty introduced Bill 13, The Accepting Schools Act. This arrived on the heels of a tragic and much-publicized suicide involving Ottawa teenager, Jamie Hubley. The teen suffered with depression and happened to also be openly gay. The media dutifully painted the picture that Hubley committed suicide primarily due to “homophobic bullying” despite the fact his father, an Ottawa city councilor, admitted the teen struggled with depression for years. EGALE , the powerful gay lobby group that coordinated and funded lawsuits across Canada to abolish the true definition of marriage, fuelled the media frenzy to create a sense of “crisis,” as if gay teens were suddenly killing themselves left and right. Oh, and of course, the insinuation is that it’s because of bullying at school based on sexual orientation, although there’s no proof of that either. In fact, there is evidence that harassment of “gay” teens may neither be as frequent,

Ontario MPP: McGuinty anti-bullying bill is deceptive, ‘utopian,’ ‘foolhardy,’ stupid

TORONTO, Ontario , January 9, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Premier Dalton McGuinty ’s controversial anti- bullying bill is “intentionally deceptive,” “utopian,” and “foolhardy,” says an Ontario politician with the opposition Progressive Conservatives. Tory MPP Randy Hillier In a strongly worded  op-ed  Wednesday for the Ottawa Citizen , Tory MPP Randy Hillier says McGuinty’s bill, which has been criticized by religious groups for its strong emphasis on sexual orientation, “reaches the zenith of downright stupidity” and manipulates recent suicides by homosexual teens for “political gain.” “Bill 13 is little more than a poorly disguised pacifier intended to create a perception that not only is the government acting, but is also compassionate and sympathetic toward children who are bullied,” writes Hillier ( Lanark—Frontenac—Lennox and Addington ), a former provincial Tory leadership candidate and current oppositio Image via Wikipedia n critic for both Labour and Northern Development,

Ontario Catholic school boards back gay clubs bill while Catholic League pans it

TORONTO, Ontario , December 21, 2011 - Despite strong concerns by Catholic parents and groups, Ontario ’s Catholic leaders are backing Premier Dalton McGuinty ’s controversial anti-bullying bill that seeks to require all publicly-funded schools to set up student-run homosexual anti-bullying clubs. Nancy Kirby, president of the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA), says the province’s Catholic school boards “welcome” the legislation.  Kirby co-signed the April 15th memo with Archbishop Thomas Collins of Toronto that announced the province’s Catholic schools would be working to develop a network of homosexual anti-bullying clubs.  They are expected to release their framework for the clubs early in the new year.  The office of Archbishop Collins also informed LifeSiteNews that he will be speaking to the matter early in the new year. Toronto Catholic teachers’ union backs gay relationships

Image
Image via Wikipedia TORONTO, Ontario , December 13, 2011 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - A major wing of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) is calling on the union to ensure teachers at Catholic schools who are in homosexual relationships are eligible for hiring and promotion despite their dissent to the Church’s prohibition of homosexual relations.  The Toronto OECTA group is also calling for the union to formally endorse gay-straight clubs. On November 24th, OECTA’s Toronto Secondary Unit (TSU) passed resolutions to make these two proposals at the controversial union’s annual general meeting in March. The votes come at the same time as OECTA has openly celebrated its partnership with homosexual lobby group Egale in a statement praising a new bill by Dalton McGuinty ’s Liberals cracking down on homosexual bullying. LifeSiteNews exposed OECTA’s partnership with Egale last December, causing a stir among members who objected to having their union dues support one o
