Chick-fil-A ‘Tastes Like Hate’ vandal won’t be charged: D.A.

Image
TORRANCE, CA , August 31, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Manuel Castro may have accused Chick-fil-A of peddling hate, but police say they have determined that he wasn’t motivated by hate when he vandalized a Chick-fil-A restaurant earlier this month. Castro, a gay activist, had scrawled the words “Tastes Like Hate,” along with a cow holding a paintbrush, on the side of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Torrance, California, on “National Same-Sex Kiss Day” – an event organized to protest company CEO Dan Cathy’s stance in support of traditional marriage . “National Same-Sex Kiss Day” followed on the heels of Chick-fil-A “Appreciation Day,” on which hundreds of thousands of traditional marriage supporters had lined up, sometimes for several hours, to dine at Chick-fil-A as a show of their support for Cathy. Photos of Castro’s graffiti traveled far and wide in the media, becoming one of the most recognizable images from the kerfuffle. But police announced this week that Castro wou

‘Hero’ FRC security guard released from hospital: alleged shooter pleads ‘not guilty’

WASHINGTON, D.C. , August 24, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – The man who has been extolled as a “hero” after putting a stop to what could have been a much worse tragedy last week at the Family Research Council , has just been released from hospital. Leo Johnson was shot in the arm on August 15, after confronting a gunman who allegedly walked into FRC’s building, expressed disagreement with the organization’s politics, and opened fire. Despite being shot, Leo was able to subdue the shooter and call for help. “I am thankfully now out of the hospital,” Johnson said in a statement on Friday, adding that while his condition “continues to improve,” he will likely need another surgery. “I want to thank everyone for the support and prayers during my recovery,” Johnson wrote. “I thank the media for their interest but ask for their understanding of my family’s desire for privacy as I focus on getting better.” The alleged gunman, Virginia resident Floyd Lee Corkins II, appeared i

Gay activist seeks to Murder Christians who support heterosexual marriage

National Organization for Marriage (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Five days ago, a gay activist stormed the offices of the Family Research Council (FRC), a pro-marriage ally in our fight, attempted to barge into their offices with a loaded weapon, and when confronted by a security officer , tried to murder the guard and thereby intimidate Christians and marriage supporters everywhere. It's the same thing that terrorists try to accomplish—use deadly force to intimidate opponents into submission. The armed gay activist was reportedly carrying a large cache of ammunition and bags of food from Chick-Fil-A . He apparently complained about our side's pro-marriage position. You may recall that NOM and others recently led a nationwide show of support for the CEO of Chick-Fil-A's public defense of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. It's been reported that the attacker may have intended to leave Chick-Fil-A sandwiches as he shot his way through the offices. Fort

Pro-Gay media subdued reporting on Family Research Council shooter

Image
August 16, 2012 ( JillStanek.com ) - I was camping yesterday morning when a friend alerted me via Twitter there had been a shooting at  Family Research Council  headquarters in Washington, D.C. Frightened for my friends, I began checking Google for news reports. Ten minutes later  the first story popped up, stating an FRC security guard had been shot in the arm, and the shooter had been arrested. A bit relieved, I went ahead with a planned day trip, tuning in to news radio in the truck to keep up with the latest. Nada. I switched to WLS radio, the Chicago ABC affiliate. More nada. I thought to myself had this been a shooting at a NARAL or GLAAD headquarters, or at a Planned Parenthood , the journalistic world  Logo of the Family Research Council. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) would have stopped. But because FRC is conservative, a shooting wasn’t as big a deal. As the day went on, the shooter was identified as Floyd Lee Corkins II, pictured above.  ABC reported :

Chick-Fil-A and the one day that changed the world

Image
August 15, 2012 ( Mercatornet.com ) -  Nine Days that Changed the World  is a book about Pope John Paul II ’s nine-day trip to Poland in 1979.  The Pope ’s pilgrimage laid the groundwork for the revolution of conscience that eventually brought down the Communist regimes throughout Eastern Europe. Thus those nine days really did change the world. Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day could very well be the One Day that changes our world this year. During Pope John Paul’s first trip to his homeland after being elected Pope, he did not assemble an army.  He did not set up a network of spies. He did not give rabble-rousing speeches. He did not go to inspire a revolution. He just preached the love of Jesus Christ, the person who is Truth personified.  And literally millions of people came to listen. Those millions of people looked around and saw that they were not alone.  The Polish people had been living in an oppressive regime since the end of World War II .  The Communist regime crea

Family Resources Centre shooter carried Chick-Fil-A materials: officials

WASHINGTON , August 15, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - The suspect  arrested for shooting  a security guard after attempting to enter the Family Research Council headquarters was carrying paraphernalia related to Chick-Fil-A , the restaurant chain that came under fire last month for supporting traditional marriage , according to reports. Federal officials said the suspect, identified as Floyd Corkins, of Herndon, Virginia , “was carrying a backpack containing materials related to Chick-fil-A restaurants,” according to NBC . In an earlier report, Fox News   said  that sources claimed the gunman “may have been carrying a bag from Chick-fil-A.” Chick-Fil-A was condemned by gay rights leaders and several mayors for CEO Dan Cathy’s expression of Biblical beliefs regarding the sanctity of marriage, remarks that touched off renewed opposition to Chick-Fil-A for donating to “hate groups,” including the Family Research Council. Perkin’s group, one of the country’s most high-prof

Family Research Council shooting suspect was volunteering at LGBT center

Image
August 15, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – The sole suspect in  this morning’s shooting  at the Family Research Council headquarters in Washington D.C. has been volunteering at a community center for homosexuals, it has been revealed. Floyd Corkins II David Mariner, the executive director of The DC Center for the LGBT Community ,  told  the Associated Press that Floyd Corkins II had been volunteering at the center for the past six months or so. He described Corkins as, “kind, gentle and unassuming.” Corkins, 28, of Herndon, Virginia , allegedly entered the lobby of FRC this morning, where witnesses say he criticized the conservative organization, before opening fire. One security officer was shot in the arm before the officer was able to subdue Corkins with the assistance of others. Corkins was reportedly armed with multiple weapons. While police have not released any information about a possible motive, a picture is beginning to emerge of a homosexual activist who may
