Decision Striking Down Ban On Minors Seeking Same-Sex Professional Help

Image
With all the focus on the aftermath of the presidential elections, you might have missed an important victory in the courts last week. As   reported   November 20 by Liberty Counsel, which litigated the case successfully, “A three-judge panel of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals struck down laws that ban counselors from providing minor clients with help to reduce or eliminate unwanted same-sex attractions, behaviors, or gender confusion.” This was a victory for freedom, for tolerance, for individual rights, and for therapist-client privilege. Above all, it was a victory for minors. Liberty Counsel, led by Mat Staver, represented “Dr. Robert Otto, LMFT and Dr. Julie Hamilton, LMFT and their minor clients who challenged the constitutionality of ordinances enacted by the City of Boca Raton and Palm Beach County which prohibit minors from voluntary counseling from licensed professionals.” These local, Florida ordinances were part of a disturbing national trend that p...

Target Tried To Ban Transgender Therapy Book, The ‘Irreversible Damage’ Of Censorship

Image
Another week, another bout of Twitter outrage. At the center of the latest scandal is a book by Abigail Shrier of the  Wall Street Journal . Shrier has the pedigree of an elite journalist. She attended Columbia University and the University of Oxford as an undergraduate and graduated from Yale Law School. Related:  ‘Power to the people’: Target removes, then reinstates, teen transgender book In  Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters , she details the results of her investigation into “the sudden, severe spike in transgender identification among adolescent girls.” This trend concerned Shrier. So, she set out to find its cause. Shrier was alarmed by what she found. She learned about the “social contagion” aspect of the spike in transgender identification, especially among friend groups. She discovered the rapid pace at which teenage girls are undergoing gender transition surgeries, making  irreversible decisions  with irreversible conse...

MARGARET COURT MISSES OUT ON CHARITY FUNDS – BECAUSE OF HER RELIGION

Image
The decision by Lotterywest to reject a grant application to assist the community outreach food program at tennis legend Margaret Court’s church on the basis of its public stance on same-sex marriage is not really all that surprising. Although Court herself is disappointed. Why is it not surprising? Because it’s a sign of the times. Increasingly – and soon exclusively – any church applications for public coffers grant money will be tied to a raft of social sign-offs that orthodox Christians will not sign off on, or will do so for the sake of a bowl of red stew. Lotterywest not only turned down the application but made it clear that the rejection was not on the basis of merit or need, but solely on the basis of the well-known pastor’s equally well-known views on same-sex marriage. Lotterywest asks this question of itself on its website: Lotterywest screenshot Well we know what it doesn’t support. As reported in The West Australian newspaper, Lotterywest, which makes its money primarily ...

Trump and Gays

Image
President Trump and his advisers have made the calculation that courting moderate, pro-LGBT voters won’t hurt them in the slightest with his Evangelical and pro-life base.  In case you missed it, Ric Grenell, the former acting director of National Intelligence, gave an outstanding speech at the Republican National Convention last month.  It was a historic broadside against the Deep State and internationalists who’ve been in power for pretty much the last 40 years. I’m sure their blood was boiling as they watched it. Just days before Grenell, a homosexual delivered his remarks, he made a video declaring Donald Trump the “most pro-gay president in American history.” The Trump administration has walked a fine line the past several years with its socially conservative base and the LGBT community. No one can deny that President Trump is quite possibly the most pro-life president we’ve ever had. He’s also admirably defended the religious liberty of the Little Sisters of the Poor and...

The Pope dismisses the Bible on the sin of homosexuality

Image
In a new film that will premier in North America Sunday but premiered in Rome today, Pope Francis has made his most clear   statements contradicting Catholic Church teaching   by calling for homosexual civil unions to be legalized. Speaking of homosexual civil unions, he said, “What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered. I stood up for that.”  One does not have to be a theologian or a moral expert to know that such statements are totally heterodox and constitute a very serious cause of scandal for the faithful.' Archbishop Vigano has replied with an extensive analysis of the situation . In addition, U.S. bishops Joseph Strickland and Thomas Tobin have commented. It is not the first time Pope Francis has contravened Church teaching in the matter of homosexuality, but it is one of his clearest statements contravening established Church teaching. In 2003, in a document by then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI) and approved and ...

Pope promotes what the Bible prohibits

In the documentary, which premiered in Rome today, Pope Francis has made his most clear statements contradicting Catholic Church teaching by calling for homosexual civil unions to be legalized . Speaking of homosexual civil unions, he said “What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered. I stood up for that.”  The film Francesco is a fawning and dramatic treatment of Pope Francis, painting the pontiff as a liberator of humanity pushing on many of the hot-button issues. Pope promotes what the Bible prohibits It is not the first time Pope Francis has contravened Church teaching in the matter of homosexuality, but it is one of his clearest statements contravening established Church teaching. In 2003, in a document by then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI) and approved and ordered published by Pope St. John Paul II, the Church issued specific guidance on the need to reject homosexual civil union proposals.  The document called “Considera...
