Springsteen wants to pee in the women's toilets? Ugly!

Springsteen, Bryan Adams back LGBT campaign, cancel concerts in North Carolina , Mississippi usicians Bruce Springsteen and Bryan Adams cancelled planned shows in North Carolina and Mississippi this week over the states’ bathroom privacy and religious freedom laws. Springsteen cancelled his April 10 appearance in Greensboro, NC in protest of the state’s new law requiring people to use the bathroom that corresponds with their biological sex.  In a  statement  on his website, the singer announced: North Carolina has just passed HB2, which the media are referring to as the “bathroom” law…To my mind, it’s an attempt by people who cannot stand the progress our country has made in recognizing the human rights of all of our citizens to overturn that progress. Right now, there are many groups, businesses, and individuals in North Carolina working to oppose and overcome these negative developments. Taking all of this into account, I feel that this is a time for me a...

Freedom to change your life: Why the government shouldn’t ban ‘reparative therapy’

Image
The freedom of people with same-sex attractions to exercise their civil rights is under siege by legal bullies who hate redeemed and restored lives. The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and two other groups are out to crush the civil rights of those who desperately desire therapy. On February 24, the SPLC and other LGBT organizations filed a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission designed to silence People Can Change (PCC), an organization whose clients seek help in dealing with their same-sex attractions. Four liberal lawmakers added their names to the complaint in an all-out effort to penalize anyone who would offer therapies called “ reparative therapy ” or “conversion therapy” to anyone who freely asks for it. The legal filing demonstrates a visceral hatred not only toward these therapies but also toward people who don’t want to act on their same-sex attractions, and want to minimize or perhaps even change them. The legal filing aims to take away the fre...

France backs off Cold War with Vatican over reputed ‘gay’ ambassador

Image
Pope Benedictus XVI (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) After more than a year’s silence on the part of the Holy See , France has finally acknowledged this silence as its normal diplomatic way of rejecting a country’s appointed ambassador. Laurent Stefanini has just been named as France’s ambassador to UNESCO , the Paris-based agency of the United Nations for education, science and culture, ending a long stretch as chief of protocol of the president of the Republic . The coveted position of ambassador of France to the Holy See will most probably remain vacant until the end of François Hollande’s presidential mandate next year. So ends a lengthy and confusing saga in which Pope Francis is said to have intervened personally in order to prevent the acceptance of Laurent Stefanini’s credentials because of the diplomat’s “homosexuality.” Laurent Stefanini had the backing of the archbishop of Paris, Cardinal Vingt-Trois – who confirmed him in 1998 shortly after he converted to the Cathol...

Federal court overturns ruling upholding natural marriage in Puerto Rico, orders judge off case

Image
A federal appeals court overturned a district judge's ruling on Thursday, and declared that same-sex "marriage" in Puerto Rico is constitutional. In 1999, Governor Pedro Rosselló signed into law a bill defining marriage as "a civil contract whereby a man and a woman mutually agree to become husband and wife."  Attempts failed, however, in 2008 and 2009 to put the definition of marriage in Puerto Rico's Constitution as a union between a man and a woman, and to outright ban same-sex "marriages." A groundswell of  popular support for natural marriage  culminated in between 120,000 and 200,000 people demonstrating at the San Juan's Capitol Building in February 2013. In March 2014, a lesbian couple from Massachusetts filed a legal complaint, seeking recognition of their "marriage," which was solemnized in the states. U.S. District Court Judge Juan Pérez-Giménez ruled against the lesbians and upheld Puerto Rico law in Octo...

Piers Morgan cleared after flood of complaints for labeling Christian views ‘homophobic’

Image
British TV host Piers Morgan has been investigated and cleared of improper behaviour during an aggressive on-air interview in which he accused fired magistrate Richard Page of “ homophobia ” several times because of his Christian view of marriage . Informed of the decision by LifeSiteNews while holidaying in Germany, Page said, “It doesn’t bother me, after all the aggravation I’ve had over this. But he [Morgan] really wasn’t interested in hearing my side. I think he just kept saying, ‘You’re homophobic’ over and over because he couldn’t think of what other questions to ask.” Morgan, the co-host of ITV’s Good Morning Great Britain, was interviewing Page after the magistrate of 15 years was suspended a year ago and then, last month, fired outright by the government for comments to other judges and then to the BBC about a child custody case. He told the BBC: “Because a baby comes from a man and a woman it made me think that the child would be better off with a father and a m...

Spanish bishops denounce ‘totalitarian’ transgender bathroom law

Image
Three Spanish bishops are telling the faithful that a law passed recently by the Spanish province of Madrid that requires school bathrooms and dressing rooms to allow opposite-sex “transgender” students is “unjust” and therefore “obligates no one in conscience.” The transgender law is an “iniquitous” one that “gravely assaults the fifth commandment of the law of God , and facilitates the violation of the sixth and ninth commandments,” the bishops write in a joint declaration issued late last month. The law, according to the bishops, reflects a “totalitarian way of thinking: the absolutization of the will that seeks to be the only creator of the human person,” and warn that society is being subjected to “a totalitarian authority that, in the name of liberty, seeks to abolish any moral norm that impedes the rule of absolute freedom of technology.” Madrid ’s new “ Law of Identity and Gender Expression and Social Equality and Non-Discrimination”  declares  that “Eve...

Head of U.S. Bishops’ news service: religious freedom laws are ‘pro-discrimination’ and ‘stupid’

Image
The director and editor-in-chief of Catholic News Service , the news service of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops , has tweeted statements decrying religious freedom  laws and promoting the LGBT agenda. Over the past few weeks, Tony Spence, who has been head of Catholic News Service ( CNS ) since 2004,  published statements on his Twitter feed  criticizing North Carolina’s bathroom privacy law.  The law prevents men from accessing women’s bathrooms. “#LGBTprotections get flushed as NC governor signs bill over #bathroomwars,” Spence  tweeted  on March 24. On March 28, Spence tweeted the link to an article about Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal ’s veto of a religious liberty bill.   Spence tweeted , “Too bad the NC Republican gov didn’t call him last week for a consult.” The failed Georgia bill  would have  “prohibit[ed] discriminatory action against a person who believes, speaks, or acts in accordance with a sincere...
