Australia: Anglican Priest Peter Catt rejects Bible accepts sinful homosexuality

A confused Anglican priest says it's time for Australia's politicians to 'step up to the plate' and do their jobs by legislating immoral homosexual marriage. St John's Anglican Cathedral Dean Dr Peter Catt will on Saturday address a homosexual rally, where he'll be one of several speakers calling for the federal government to hold a free vote for gay marriage.

Catt acknowledges some opposition from Biblical conservatives who read and understand their theology. Dr Catt said it made no sense to withhold marriage from homosexual people. This priest is actively promoting the sin of homosexuality, in so doing he has become apostate. He has rejected the scriptures which is his obligation to uphold. He should be dismissed.

He also doesn't support biblical marriage. He said 'This is the next evolution,' because marriage has become more and more of a celebration and a commitment of the love between two people.' This priest either doesn't understand the biblical covenant of marriage or how Jesus himself perceived and spoke of marriage. 

His definition of marriage isn't determined by the scriptures but by polls. 

'I think society is more than ready for that expression of marriage and the polls back that up. The time is here and all we need is for the politicians to step up to the plate and do what they are there to do,' he said.

Catt is one of the several speakers at the GetUp! and Equal Love Brisbane event at Queens Gardens, Brisbane. He should be immediately sacked. 

Here is the condemnation Catt faces now as outlined by Romans 1:32 - where Catt approves of homosexual sin -

Romans 1:24-32 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised.Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
