ANNAPOLIS, Maryland , March 1, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - The governor of Maryland has signed a new law extending the definition of marriage to include homosexual couples one day after opponents were given the green light to collect signatures for an initiative to put the marriage question to state voters . The bill was approved in a 25-22 Senate vote after only 48 hours of deliberation on Feb. 23, six days after it passed the House of Delegates. Gov. Martin O’Malley’s signature makes Maryland the seventh state to redefine marriage, in addition to the District of Columbia . Gov. The law cannot be divorced from reality, from nature. The moment this happens, law becomes arbitrary, the whim of the ruling power: it becomes tyranny. Last week, the Maryland Senate passed the Civil Marriage Protection Act by a 25–22 vote. ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND , February 22, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com )—A 14-year-old homeschooler who testified before the Maryland state senate against a bill redefining marriage has been the subject of cyberbullying, vicious name-calling, and death threats . Maryland State Senate Sarah Crank, 14, told the Maryland Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee last month she believes children need a mother and a father. “ I really feel bad for the kids who have two parents of the same gender,” she told the senators. “Even though some kids think it’s fine, they have no idea what kind of wonderful experiences they miss out on.” She continued, “People say that they were born that way, but I’ve met really nice adults who did change.” “Today’s my 14th birthday, and it would be the best birthday present ever if you would vote ‘no’ on gay marriage,” she said. After audio of her uncharacteristically mature testimony was  posted on YouTube , the story went viral on homosexual activist websites—and death
