PORTLAND, OREGON , April 27, 2012, – The group that allegedly smashed up a Portland church hopes its “small act of vengeance will strike fear into the hearts of” Christian leaders who teach traditional sexual morality, according to an e-mail message the group released to the public. A group calling itself “Angry Queers ” has claimed responsibility for  throwing baseball-sized rocks through nine church windows  in Portland’s Mars Hill Church , including two 100-year-old stained glass panes. Two versions of the e-mail have been sent to the media, one longer and slightly more incendiary than the other, but both apparently originating from the same group. Quinn Matney had filed a report with UNC police claiming that he was attacked on campus April 4 by an unidentified male who branded him with an unknown object. Images show a severe burn that went through the muscle layer to the tendons of his wrist. “He said, here’s a taste of hell, you [expletive] fag,” Matney told NBC17. “I tried to get away, he wouldn’t let go. He didn’t actually let go til I punched him full in the face.” Matney said the attack had left him with fourth-degree burns and nerve injury.
