Obama administration cranks up executive actions to give gays government benefits

Image
WASHINGTON, D.C. , December 20, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – As Congress goes home for Christmas,  the Obama administration is now using executive powers  and other regulatory policies to benefit homosexuals. This week, the Social Security Administration   announced  that it is starting to give homosexual couples “survivor benefits,” formerly reserved for heterosexual couples who were legally married. Such benefits were  intended to benefit lifelong stay-at-home mothers upon their death of the family breadwinner . The Obama administration is currently limiting benefit recipients to those who have been “married” in a state where homosexual relationships are legal. This may change to incorporate couples in states where homosexuals cannot get “married.” Last week, Education Secretary Arne Duncan   continued  the administration's efforts to help gay couples with student loans. Duncan  said  the administration would not differentiate between “married” homosexuals and wedded h

Federal bill would penalize adoption agencies that prioritize heterosexual couples

May 14, 2013 ( FRC.org ) - The Left has a funny way of celebrating Mother's Day. First, the President issues a  bizarre tweet  reminding moms that his gift is free birth control -- presumably so they never have to become mothers again. Then, of course, there was Secretary Arne Duncan 's announcement that the Department of Education would stop acknowledging moms' existence altogether. Starting in 2014, the DOE is replacing "mother" and "father" with  "Parent 1" and "Parent 2"  on its student aid forms in an effort to be more politically correct (and anatomically incorrect). Now, some in Congress want to get in on the act with  a bill  that would intentionally deprive children of a mother. Under this legislation, the government would punish any adoption agency that gives priority to married, heterosexual couples. The bill, co-sponsored by Reps. John Lewis (D-Ga.) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), would cut off the federal fund

President's Evolution Is Over: Obama Commits to Supporting Same-Sex Marriage

Image
President Barack Obama and Vice President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) President Obama told ABC News today that he supports same-sex marriage , saying that he believes same-sex couples should be able to marry. "I've just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married,"  Obama told  ABC News' Robin Roberts . The President's statement appears closer to his stance in 2004, when he expressed support for civil unions but not marriage for gay couples. In 2010, Obama said that his views on same-sex marriage were " constantly evolving ." But he said then and in interviews   since  that he believed civil unions could provide same-sex couples with the same legal rights as marriage does. President Obama's position on the issue of marriage became an issue earlier this week after Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of Education Arne Du

Biden, Jr. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) After both Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan pushed for acceptance of same-sex marriage over the weekend, North Carolina became the 30th state to amend its constitution to define marriage as an act between one man and one woman. Now President Barack Obama has affirmed his support of same-sex marriage. In an interview with ABC News , President Obama stated: "I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don't Ask Don't Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a m

Rick Santorum: homosexual ‘marriage’ would bring gay agenda into schools

Image
WASHINGTON, D.C. December 9, 2011  – Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has stated that if the government legalizes same-sex “marriage,” it will inevitably result in public schools teaching that homosexuality is no different than heterosexuality. While stumping in Iowa this week, a 23-year-old graduate of Dordt College   challenged  the former Pennsylvania senator to show any harm gay “marriage” would cause. In response, Santorum pointed out that if the institution is legalized, schools will teach young students that homosexual “sexual activity” must be “seen as equal” to heterosexuality. He  predicted , “you are going to have…spread throughout our curriculum a worldview that is fundamentally different than what is taught in schools today.” “What is going to be taught to our children…even to little children” about the definition of “ married couples [or] what families look like in America?” he asked. Despite the student’s protests, Santorum held firm, saying, “if we say

Obama education secretary pushes gay groups in public schools

Image via Wikipedia The Obama administration ’s head of education has encouraged all U.S. school districts to host student groups that affirm homosexuality . In a letter to educators June 14 picked up by  CNSNews.com , Education Secretary Arne Duncan said that “gay-straight alliance” ( GSA ) groups “can play an important role in promoting safer schools and creating more welcoming learning environments.” The letter, issued from the department’s Office of Civil Rights , emphasized that the Equal Access Act was “rooted in principles of equal treatment and freedom of expression” and would therefore protect secondary schools that sanctioned homosexual groups.   http://www2.ed.gov/policy/elsec/guid/secletter/110607.html “I encourage every school district to make sure that its administrators, faculty members, staff, students, and parents are familiar with these principles in order to protect the rights of all students — regardless of religion, political or philosophical views, sexual
