What does the Bible say about homosexuality - Sean McDowell and Matthew Vines

Image
What does the Bible say about homosexuality . An interview with Sean McDowell and Matthew Vines . How did Jesus view sex and marriage? In this video, Sean and Matthew discuss important biblical passages related to the biblical view of homosexuality. Last night I had the opportunity to discuss the Bible and Homosexuality with Matthew Vines. It was hosted by Living Oaks Church as part of their “Get a Grip” series. Here is my opening statement. I normally don't post an article this long, and I rarely write out a speech word-for-word. But here it is nonetheless! My thanks to pastor Jon and the church for hosting this conversation, and my respect to Matthew for being willing to enter into this dialogue at a church that holds the historic Christian view on sex and marriage. I appreciate Jon’s opening statement. This issue is too important to be decided by personality, experience, or likability. Don’t be tempted to believe something because you like me or because you don’t like

Australian PM should now be sacked - lied to 5 million Australian religious protections

Image
John Howard has debunked Malcolm Turnbull’s argument that religious freedoms will lead to sharia law in Australia and declared he fears the fight for protections in the same-sex marriage debate will “die in the sand”. PM TURNBULL SHOULD BE SACKED The former prime minister John Howard , who campaigned for religious freedoms and parental rights during the same-sex-marriage postal survey, yesterday said the argument that extra religious freedoms could mean the establishment of Islamic law in Australia was a disgraceful fear campaign that was not true. PM TURNBULL HAS NO INTENTION OF GIVING ANY RELIGIONS FREEDOMS “The argument that religious freedoms will lead to the imposition of sharia law is just plain wrong and is a disgraceful appeal to community fears,” Mr Howard said. “ Sharia law cannot be introduced without state government approval and that is simply not going to happen. Anyone practising some of the punishments of sharia law would be committing a crime.” Th

Church of Scotland majority wants to allow ministers in same-sex unions - ignore the Bible

Image
The majority of the Church of Scotland ’s presbyteries have voted to allow local congregations to appoint ministers in same-sex civil partnerships. The measure is likely to be brought to the Kirk’s General Assembly in May for final approval. The denomination’s 46 presbyteries voted 32 to 14 in favor of the measure, with the Kirk revealing the results on the same day that the new law legalizing same-sex "marriage" in Scotland came into effect. The General Assembly instituted a two-year moratorium in 2009 on homosexual issues within the Kirk. In 2011 the moratorium was lifted and a theological commission was created to consider the ordination of openly and actively homosexual clergy, the blessing of same-sex unions, and to allow homosexual ministers and deacons ordained before May 2009 to be given pastoral responsibilities. The 2009 moratorium came after a firestorm of controversy leading up to the General Assembly’s decision to approve the appointment of openly

The 21st century gestapo: fringe extremists in the homosexual movement

Image
The Gestapo in Nazi Germany entered Jewish-owned shops to intimidate and demolish them. To do so, they had the full support of the state, the courts and the media to carry out their mission. Today, we are witnessing a similar attempt in Canada , the U.S. and the U.K. to intimidate and demolish businesses — only this time, it is not Jews who are being persecuted, but Christian men and women. Today’s apparent Gestapo are the fringe extremists in the homosexual movement and their supporters, who target Christian businesses, such as  flower shops, print shops, bakeries , church halls, etc. to demand they supply services for their same-sex activities, such as same-sex marriages and receptions: These activists do so with full knowledge that the owners of these shops would be in contravention of the principles of their Christian faith. When refused the service, the activists then report to the Human Rights Commission and lay a complaint of discrimination against the offenders, knowi

US mainstream media ignore arrest of gay activist and Democratic donor

Image
Terry Bean has made media and political waves as a co-founder of the gay “rights” group Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and a major fundraiser and bundler for President Obama and other prominent Democrats. He has been a hugely influential figure in the Obama administration’s decision to change how the federal government looks at marriage. Changes include a statement by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder that state Attorneys General   could ignore state marriage amendments ,  an Executive Order  in 2014 that gives LGBT Americans the same worker protections as women and racial minorities for federal employees and contractors, and the elimination of single-sex classrooms and schools if they receive federal funding. Additionally, the Obama administration has declared that Medicare funding  can be used for transgender surgeries . Given this influence, you might expect U.S. media to intensely focus on the dramatic legal proceedings that have taken place since November, when  Bean was

Belgian bishop hopes Church will formally recognize same-sex unions

English: Mgr. Bonny 2008 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The bishop of Antwerp , Johan Bonny , gave an interview to the Belgian daily  De Morgen  on December 27, in which he suggested that the Catholic Church should find a way to “recognize” the relationship that exists between “holebi” couples, holebi being the Dutch acronym for “homosexual, lesbian and bisexual” persons. “Inside the Church, we must look for a formal recognition of the relational dimension that is also present in many ‘holebi’ couples. In the same way that in society there exists a diversity of legal frameworks for partners, there must be a diversity of forms of recognition in the Church,” he said. “The values contained (in these relationships) are more important to me than the institutional question. Christian ethics are grounded in durable relationships where exclusiveness, fidelity and mutual care have the central role,” he said. “Next to that, there is also openness to new life, or at least the responsibilit
