The Toronto Catholic District School Board, after a long and heated debate, voted to adopt four gender terms into its code of conduct: "gender identity," "gender expression," "family status," and "marital status".  The chairman of the board, who supported the 8 to 4 vote, stated that "we need to celebrate our differences and make sure our children from the LGBTQ community and families from the LGBTQ community are supported and welcomed".  This view, however, is contrary to that of the archdiocese, which responded: "We do not accept the view of the human person which underlies this terminology since that view is not compatible with our faith." Royal Canadian Navy commander Vice-Admiral Ron Lloyd urged sailors last week to attend "Pride" events in uniform without any special permission to show that the Navy is "diverse" and "inclusive." "In an effort to epitomize diversity and inclusion," Lloyd wrote in his directives, "the (Navy) encourages attendance to Pride events and authorizes the wear of uniform to participate in or attend the parade." The Navy commander said that effective immediately, Navy personnel no longer had to seek permission in order to wear their uniforms in homosexual "Pride" parades. Last week we spoke to a mom who is on the parents council at her elementary school in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). The mother shared with us that she had asked her Principal for advance notice of all Sex-ed lessons so she could choose whether or not to withdraw her child from class. The Principal stunned her with the following answer:  "We cannot give you advance notice because Sex-ed will be weaved throughout all subjects ". She is now in a battle with her school to have her parental rights respected. Lessons beginning now Now that we are into Spring, the controversial new curriculum will start to be taught at any time, and in some schools, has already started to roll out.  Therefore young children will soon be introduced to adult concepts of sex that are often dangerous to their health, both physically and spiritually. A few weeks ago, at the invitation of several parent organizations, I traveled from New York to Toronto and addressed a crowd of almost one thousand people. It was dinner time and mid-week, but we ran out of chairs. When the topic is graphic sex education for children, people show up. The sex ed portion of the curriculum imposed by liberal premier Kathleen Wynne , I explained, is not about health, but about molding the attitudes of children. The goal is to produce students who respect and affirm nearly any type of sexual lifestyle . Teachers will promote an ideology which has nothing to do with disease prevention and everything to do with sexual license. The Toronto District School Board has confirmed it will not permit students to opt out of any portion of public school curricula that deals with homosexuality or gender identity , stating as its reason that these groups fall under Ontario Human Rights Code protection. In this, the TDSB follows the lead of the Peel school board , which announced a similar policy concurrent with the Liberal government’s September roll out of its controversial sex-ed curriculum in all Ontario ’s publicly funded schools.
