Lesbian Couple sue council $10K Over Calling Them An 'Abomination'

Image
A West Virginia county clerk 's office has agreed to pay $10,000 in damages to a lesbian couple who said they faced disparaging remarks while applying for a marriage license last year. The incident prompted Amanda Abramovich and Samantha Brookover to sue Gilmer County Deputy Clerk Debbie Allen and Clerk Jean Butcher. According to the complaint, Allen called the couple an “abomination” and told them that God would “deal” with them while processing their application. According to The Washington Post , Allen's comments against the women lasted several minutes and another clerk shouted that it was Allen's “ religious right ” to harass the couple. When Brookover's mother, who witnessed the abuse, called the county clerk's office to complain, she said that Butcher stood by her deputy and allegedly said that the next same-sex couple that sought a marriage license “would get the same or worse” treatment. Allen has denied she called the couple an “abomination or any

Courageous Christians Resisting the Rainbow Warriors

Image
Homosexual marriage changes everything. I and others have made this warning for decades now. And on a daily basis we see the frightening truth of this. Everyone is impacted by such radical social and legal changes. We are all at risk. And Christians are especially being targeted. I have documented numerous cases of anti- Christian bigotry both in my books and on my website. One could monitor all this on a full time basis, and still have a hard time keeping up. Here are more cases of the attack on faith and freedom by the homosexual militants. But these are also stories of courageous Christian resistance. Here I offer three recent stories coming out of North America of steadfast believers who have refused to bow the knee to the rainbow gods, but have stood fast, even when that means suffering very real consequences. The first story comes from Illinois: A Christian’s 14-year career is being threatened because he refused to watch a training video on lesbian, homosexual, bi

Christian sues county after being fired for refusing to perform same-sex ‘wedding’

Image
Last year, a county clerk in Kentucky was   jailed   for refusing to issue homosexual marriage licenses . Now a county clerk in Florida is fighting a similar battle. Broward County Clerk Yanicka Parker was fired for asking her boss to have someone else in the clerk's office issue a marriage license to gays. Parker explained to Clerk of Courts Howard Forman that as a Christian and a minister she could not condone sodomy because of her sincerely held beliefs. As soon as she received an interdepartmental email stating all employees must perform wedding vows and issue licenses for homosexuals, Parker requested an accommodation. She also asked to be transferred or reassigned to a department that did not require officiating homosexual unions. When a statewide ban on homosexual marriage was rescinded on January 6, 2015, she again asked that someone else in the large Broward County Clerk's Office perform those duties, which constitute only a fraction of her work. Even

Another Kentucky Clerk Joins Kim Davis in Refusing To Issue Same-sex 'Marriage' Licenses

Image
A third elected county clerk in Kentucky has joined Kim Davis in refusing to violate her conscience and the constitution of the state of Kentucky by issuing 'marriage' licenses to same-sex couples . According to media reports , Whitley County Clerk Kay Schwartz will not issue same-sex marriage licenses which are illegal under Kentucky law. The ACLU is considering a lawsuit to attempt to force her to issue the licenses even though doing so violates both her conscience and the state constitution. Whitley County clerk says she is issuing marriage licenses, but not to same-sex couples WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. ( WYMT ) - Kentucky has become a focal point in the debate over same-sex marriage, after Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis refused to issue marriage licenses following the June supreme court ruling legalizing gay marriage nationwide. Casey County Clerk Casey Davis and Whitley County Clerk Kay Schwartz also stopped issuing marriage licenses because of their religious oppositio

Rob Bell and Andrew Wilson Discuss Homosexuality and the Bible

Image
Or perhaps I should have titled that “ Rob Bell Discusses Homosexuality and Andrew Wilson Discusses the Bible ,” because there was a disturbing lack of Bible in Rob Bell’s answers and arguments. Instead, Rob argued along these lines (and I’m paraphrasing): · People don’t like Christianity . Therefore, we should change the parts they don’t like. · The modern world affirms homosexuality . Therefore, we should too. · Monogamous homosexuals aren’t hurting anyone. Therefore, they’re not sinful. · Monogamy is better than promiscuity because the latter is dangerous and destructive. · Because homosexuals want to share their lives with each other, they should be able to. I wasn’t familiar with Andrew Wilson prior to watching this video, but I appreciate the way he interacted with Rob. He was direct, logical, kind, persistent, and uncompromising. Watch it for yourself. Related articles Students taught to reconcile faith with 'gay' behavior

Kim Davis may be the face of the marriage resistance - but she’s not the only clerk fighting

Image
Kim Davis isn't the only county clerk refusing to lend her name as an elected official to the U.S. Supreme Court's edict imposing homosexual "marriage" on the nation. Others are doing so without the media display, being sued, or   ending up in jail . A total of three Kentucky clerks have   refused to issue "marriage" licenses   to same-sex couples, along with nine Alabama counties ,   according   to NBC News . Davis has been made the face of resistance to   judicial tyranny . None of these others has. Davis was   released from jail   Tuesday after being incarcerated on a contempt of court charge last week, for declining based upon her religious beliefs to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Davis contended that putting her name as county clerk on the licenses was synonymous with her giving approval. She had refused to issue licenses to opposite-sex couples as well, so as to not discriminate against anyone. Last Friday, the day

Kim Davis returns to work and pledges again not to sign gay ‘marriage’ licenses

Image
Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis returned to work and read from her handwritten statement just prior to opening the Clerk's office. She began by saying, "I love my Lord Jesus , I love all people, and I love my job. I want to continue to serve all three as I have tried to do until now." During parts of her statement, Kim Davis became emotional, especially when she explained that she had been placed in a position to violate her conscience, which she said she could not do. Kim Davis said that from the beginning she had asked for a reasonable accommodation to remove her name and authoritative title as the Clerk of Rowan County from the marriage licenses , a request that has been ignored or not acted upon by Governor Beshear or the court. She explained that she could not issue a license with her name and title affixed to it that authorizes a marriage that is contrary to God 's definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Because she could not viola

Kim Davis’ lawyer says they actually won at the Sixth Circuit yesterday. Here’s why.

Image
ROWAN COUNTY, A lawyer for embattled clerk Kim Davis says his client has won -- despite a decision against her yesterday. Liberty Counsel 's Mat Staver says that while the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals denied Davis' injunction request against Gov. Steve Beshear 's order that clerks hand out gay “marriage” licenses, that was only a preliminary decision and one that is "rarely granted." In a partial victory for Davis, "the court also denied the governor's request to [have the case] be dismissed," Staver told LifeSiteNews. No matter how the Sixth Circuit Court definitively rules, however, Davis -- who spent five days in jail   for contempt of court   -- has already won because "she does not have her name and title affixed to the marriage certificates ," explained Staver.   Davis and her attorneys will now open a new fight for religious liberty , this one inside the state of Kentucky . Staver argues that the state is "requ

Immoral illegitimate Supreme Court

Image
It's been a week since Kim Davis went back to work pledging to continue to fight for her religious liberty rights and not be forced to issue 'marriage' licenses to same-sex couples that include her name or are issued under her authority. In fact, she had the license forms issued by her office going forward be reprinted to remove her name and include a reference that they were being issued by deputies by order of the federal court. She firmly believes that the licenses issued to gay couples under order of federal judge David Bunning are invalid because she has specifically refused to grant her authority to deputies for them to be issued. Meanwhile, liberal politicians like Governor Steve Beshear and Attorney General Jack Conway — both of whom so readily abandoned the 75% of Kentucky voters who passed a constitutional amendment reserving marriage solely to one man and one woman — have quickly weighed in that the disputed licenses are valid. Of course their views are
