Bigots and haters? Using conformity to normalize same-sex ‘marriage’

Have human beings become too clever for their own brains? Our understanding of human psychology has advanced to the point where we can create marketing and propaganda schemes that effectively manipulate people's opinions and behaviour. But most people have not yet gained the ability to withstand this kind of psychological pressure. In fact, most people are completely unaware of the problem. They do not recognize the pressure that is affecting their unconscious instincts and making them alter their conscious choices and opinions. Our knowledge of ourselves can now place us in chains, and we may not yet be clever enough to unchain ourselves. We may have become smart enough to outsmart ourselves. Here's an example. The movement for the normalization of same-sex marriage owes a good portion of its success to an intentional exploitation of human psychology. Elections deal another setback to the ‘Rainbow Revolution’

(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) On October 30, just five days before the mid-term elections, the McClatchy newspaper chain ran a breathless  article  under the headline, “Rainbow Revolution: U.S. welcoming gay marriage, changing politics.” Much of the focus of the article was on changes in attitudes toward homosexuality in the Republican Party. It began with an account of something that it said “would have been unimaginable even a couple years ago.” It told how “[t]he most powerful Republican in Washington,” House Speaker John Boehner , “flew to San Diego . . . to help raise money for an openly gay candidate for the House of Representatives” ( Carl DeMaio ).
