Caribbean Christians resist homosexual agenda

Image
Christians in many Caribbean territories being pressured by developed countries and international agencies to normalize homosexuality are joining in prayer and sharing resources to defend family values and Bible-taught sexual mores. In a shrewd appeal to nationalist sentiment as well as biblical truth, Barbadian sociologist Veronica Evelyn told a rally of approximately 6,000 islanders gathered at Bridgetown's Bay Street Esplanade on November 22, "A handful of wealthy nations in North America and Europe have decided to turn the world upside-down, to deconstruct society with new, ungodly versions of family and marriage." The rally was an attempt to mobilize Christian churches to become actively involved in public affairs, including sexual rights issues. Dr. Evelyn, a key organizer of the event, warned, "Today, family, faith and freedom are under severe and persistent attack in Barbados, the entire Caribbean, and across the world." KINGSTON, Jamaica , May 22, 2014 – A world-famous expert on AIDS has been fired from his job at the University of the West Indies after telling court officials in Belize that homosexual behavior is a threat to public health . Professor Brendan Bain, who until now served as director of the regional coordinating unit of the Caribbean HIV/AIDS Regional Training Network (CHART) at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica, was fired Tuesday after more than 30 homosexual activist groups demanded he be removed from his job because of  testimony  he gave in 2010 in defense of Belize’s sodomy ban. Brendan Bain “As a physician and Public Health practitioner, one of my responsibilities is to assess behaviors for their health and well being,” Bain wrote at the time. “When something is beneficial, such as exercise, good nutrition, or adequate sleep, it is my duty to recommend it. Likewise, when something is harmful, such as smoking, overeating, alcohol, or drug abuse, and uns

English: Flag of the Anglican Communion (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The Anglican bishops of the West Indies have urged their governments to hold fast and resist pressure from Britain and the United States to legalize gay rights and gay "marriage." In a statement released on April 25, 2013, following the House of Bishops meeting in Barbados, bishops of the Church the Province of the West Indies (CPWI) reiterated their belief in marriage “definedas a faithful, committed, permanent and legally sanctioned relationship between a man and a woman.” “The idea of such unions being constituted by persons of the same sex is, therefore, totally unacceptable on theological and cultural grounds,” the bishops said. The CPWI consists of eight dioceses: the Diocese of Barbados, the Diocese of Belize, the Diocese of Guyana, the Diocese of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands , the Diocese of the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands , the Diocese of the North Eastern Caribbean and Aruba, th

SAN JUAN, PR , February 18, 2013, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Between 120,000 and 200,000 people blanketed the Capitol Building in San Juan, Puerto Rico , today to encourage the island's lawmakers to defend marriage as a union between one man and one woman. Bearing signs stating “Puerto Rico stands up to defend the family,” tens of thousands of protesters called on the ruling Popular Democratic Party to turn back any measure that would redefine the family unit. The crowd represented a significant turnout on island of three-and-a-half million. “Traffic was snarled for miles leading toward the San Jun islet as buses packed with marchers headed toward the north side of the Capitol,” according to the Puerto Rican-based  Caribbean Business . Christian churches file court papers today in fight over sodomy in Belize

Image
Image via Wikipedia A lawsuit backed by powerful international lawyers and pressure groups has placed the poor Central American country of Belize in the crosshairs of an international battle over homosexuality. On one side of the battle stand three groups of international lawyers. On the other side is the government of Belize and a consortium of Christian Churches who have hired high- powered legal talent who are expected to file papers in court today. The battle began last September when a homosexual advocacy group challenged Belize’s criminal code, which penalizes “carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any person.” The Solicitor General of Belize answered this challenge in February with an affidavit defending the sodomy laws, which drew a further response from a powerful group of lawyers including the International Commission of Jurists , the Commonwealth Lawyers Association , and Human Dignity Trust to join the case as interested parties.   One of the attorneys r
