SAN DIEGO, CA , June 3, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A well-known psychiatrist is raising concerns over a new  viral video  featuring a California couple who allowed their pre-school-aged daughter to begin living as a boy. The video was created by the girl’s parents, Jeff and Hillary Whittington, who posted it to YouTube after showing it to homosexual activists at the Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast, where they accepted an “Inspiration Award” for their decision to help their daughter “transition” to her chosen sex at such an early age. It has since been viewed over 4 million times. Dr. Keith Ablow Massachusetts psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow, an author and Fox News contributor, told LifeSiteNews that the video paints a happy picture while consciously ignoring the risks of early transition – which often involves genital plastic surgery and large doses of hormones. “I am not convinced that the best option for children who are uncomfortable with their gender is to rapidly tran

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA , July 22, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews ) – A San Diego County clerk has asked the California Supreme Court to strike down a directive issued by Governor Jerry Brown and Attorney General Kamala Harris ordering clerks statewide to issue marriage certificates to same-sex couples in violation of Proposition 8 , California ’s voter-approved ban on homosexual “marriage.” San Diego County Clerk Ernest Dronenburg’s lawyers told the high court their client is “caught in the crossfire of a legal struggle over the definition of marriage.” “On the one hand, respondents have ordered him not to enforce state law and are threatening to punish him if he does not comply with that order,” Dronenburg's lawyers wrote in the lawsuit. “On the other hand, petitioner has an independent statutory obligation to enforce California law defining marriage as a union of a man and a woman.” California county clerk Ernest Dronenburg They asked the court to grant an immediate stay to pr

The terrible injustice of same-sex ‘marriage’: my story

Image
Image via CrunchBase SAN DIEGO, CA , March 26, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - I saw an “ALL love is equal!” graphic posted up and down my news feed on Facebook this morning. It’s designed to strike a chord with a person ’s sense of justice and compassion, of course; quick and manipulative slogans are the fodder of politics – and fools. My liberal arts-educated mind kicked in immediately, screaming, “No it isn’t!” Deliberately disregarding the intended purpose of the graphic, I lectured my computer screen, “There are filial, agape, eros…” But, more to the point, although love is most certainly a prerequisite for marriage (these days, at least), it certainly is not the only one. It is not enough. Marriage is life-giving. It is procreative. It involves children. Is it not more honorable to care for the wellbeing of children above the love – whatever love it might be – between adults? Does society not have a greater responsibility to uphold laws that protect children? Though

San Diego parish priest says furor over funeral for gay bar owner was a ‘set-up’: report

Image via Wikipedia An associate pastor at the San Diego Catholic church that  cancelled  a funeral Mass for the owner of a gay lounge earlier this week has reportedly said the controversy surrounding the events was a “set-up” by homosexual activists. A parishioner from Our Lady of the Rosary parish reported that the associate pastor, Rev. Louis M. Solcia, spoke about the controversy during a noon Mass on Tuesday, according to the  California Daily Catholic . In those remarks Rev. Solcia confirmed that the priests at the parish had decided that a funeral service , rather than a Mass, would be appropriate, given that the deceased, John Sanfilippo, was not practicing his Catholic faith , nor had he been to confession or received Last Rites before his death. The parish reportedly came to this decision after receiving a phone call from Sanfilippo’s homosexual partner, with whom he had been in a relationship with for many years. After the priests informed the family of the decisio
