Sesame Street goes gay

Image
The long-running PBS children’s television program Sesame Street showed its support for LGBT “Pride Month” with a social media post shared on Twitter and Facebook last week. “On our street, we accept all, we love all, and we respect all. Happy #PrideMonth!” says the Twitter post dated June 11, from the official Sesame Street account @sesamestreet. Sesame Street was not the only kids’ show that voiced a message of support for the LGBT activist–backed “Pride Month,” which promotes the homosexual lifestyle and gender-fluidity. Also tweeting in support of “Pride Month” was the kids’ network Nickelodeon, which posted a tweet featuring a trio of its popular characters in colorful dress. “Celebrating #Pride with the LGBTQ+ community and their allies this month and every month,” said the June 13 Nickelodeon tweet. The LGBT-backed “Pride Month” was also supported by the Cartoon Network, who celebrated with social media advertising and special videos along with shows approved by t

Cross-dressing LGBT activist to appear on ‘Sesame Street’

Bert and Ernie may not be a same-sex couple, but the long-running children’s franchise Sesame Street is about to get an infusion of LGBT “vibes” with an upcoming guest appearance by actor and LGBT activist Billy Porter.  REFUSE TO WATCH SUCH BLATANT LGBT INDOCTRINATION Porter, best known as Pray Tell in the FX’s LGBT ballroom drama Pose and for wearing extravagant dresses, will appear during the 51st season of the beloved children’s show, according to Sesame Street’s official Facebook page. “Billy Porter bringing those fierce vibes to Sesame Street,” the post declares, accompanied by photos of Porter on the classic set, wearing a tuxedo gown. Comments on the post were largely positive, though some readers expressed concern. REFUSE TO WATCH SUCH BLATANT LGBT INDOCTRINATION “That is pushing [too] much at little children, it makes no sense, kids have [too] much on their little plates as it is,” one said. “Why add more?” “Sesame Street is for children. Sesame Street writer says he modeled Bert and Ernie on his homosexual life

Image
A former Sesame Street writer set off controversy by admitting he based the characters of Muppet live-in buddies Bert and Ernie on his own homosexual relationship. Mark Saltzman wrote scripts and songs for Sesame Street from 1985 to 1998 and told Queerty* magazine Sunday he patterned Bert on his live-in long-term lover, film editor Arnold Glassman, and Ernie on himself. “That’s what I had in my life, a Bert & Ernie relationship. How could it not permeate?” Saltzman said. “So I don’t think I’d know how else to write them, but as a loving couple.” And the signals he sent were palpable, Saltzman conceded. “I remember one time that a column from The San Francisco Chronicle, a preschooler in the city turned to mom and asked ‘are Bert & Ernie lovers?’ And that, coming from a preschooler was fun,” he recollected. “And that got passed around, and everyone had their chuckle and went back to it. And I always felt that without a huge agenda, when I was writing Bert & Ernie, they we

Another cake maker faces thousands in fines for refusing to bake gay ‘marriage’ cake—in Northern Ireland

Image
Once again a Christian baker is threatened with paying thousands of dollars in fines for refusing to bake a cake stating its support for same-sex “marriage” – this time in Northern Ireland . The Equality Commission of Northern Ireland has ordered a Christian bakery to pay compensation to a homosexual activist or face legal action for having refused to make a cake with the phrase “support gay marriage.” Colin and Karen McArthur, a Christian couple who run seven shops around Northern Ireland, own Ashers Baking Company. The name of their cake shops is taken from the Bible: Asher is one of the tribes of Israel known for its skilled bakers. Earlier this year Ashers bakery in Newtonabbey was approached by Gareth Lee of the homosexual advocacy group QueerSpace to make a cake for an event in observance of the " International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia ." Lee asked for a cake decorated with the slogan “support gay marriage,” along with the QueerSpace logo and

Comedian: Cross Hollywood’s gay mafia, and ‘You’re not going to get your movie directed’

HOLLYWOOD, CA ,  – Longtime comedian Adam Carolla has warned the Hollywood blacklist is back, this time for anyone who runs afoul of homosexual activists. If an artist does not support the homosexual political agenda, Carolla said, “You’re not going to get your movie directed.” In a recent interview with  Salon  promoting his new book,  President Me: The America That’s In My Head , Carolla said that homosexuals have “just turned into a mafia” and criticized them for “demanding everyone apologize for every joke and retract every statement.” The drive for censorship has “turned into something that’s bigger than it is,” Carolla added. “I’ve lived in this town my whole life and never seen it like this.” “There’s plenty of gay people” in Hollywood, “and they’re in positions above you,” Carolla said. “You’re not going to get your movie directed.” “If you can’t work with gay people, you’re gonna have a difficult time in Hollywood,” Carolla said. Carolla himself was the tar

Bert and Ernie: best buddies in an over-sexualized culture

Sesame Workshop , the company that produces the kid’s show “ Sesame Street ,” announced last week the Bert and Ernie will not be getting married. Bert and Ernie, two of the show’s Muppets , are best buddies. They live in the same house and sleep in the same room — in separate twin beds. They bicker, they share, they enjoy a bedtime cookie together every night. Bert & Ernie from Sesame Street They’re such good friends that some assume they must be gay. And one group used an online petition to ask “Sesame Street” to let the truth be known. Bert and Ernie, they say, should come out of the closet and get married.  This would presumably teach tolerance and respect for differences — something, the petitioners note, “Sesame Street” has tried to do for years. But “Sesame Street” has made it clear that Bert and Ernie are puppets and as such, “Do not have a sexual orientation.” Good point: but that’s not the only reason that t Image by See-ming Lee 李思明 SML via Flickr heir getting married

Change.org and their erotic blunder with Bert & Ernie

Image via Wikipedia When I was 4, our  local  PBS  station  gave away stuffed Ernie dolls as part of its pledge drive. As soon as I saw the announcement, I did exactly as  WTTW   hoped I would: I ran to the other room and begged my dad to send money. Six weeks later, I got my very own Ernie doll.  Of all the  Sesame Street characters I loved, Ernie was my favorite. The way he wore his hair. The way he snickered. The way he bothered Bert. I was crazy about him.  And once I had my own sweater-striped Ernie, he became my favorite nighttime snuggle buddy. Unlike Bert, who had to sleep in the bed next to him, I got to hold Ernie right up in the crook of my elbow. I loved it. Maybe it’s because I have these fond memories of bedtime with Ernie that I reacted so weirdly to a recent online  petition  at Change.org urging the folks at Sesame Workshop (the creators of Sesame Street) to marry Bert and Ernie , as well as to introduce a transgender character.  While, of course, the rumo

Image via Wikipedia Author: M. Devine  The fact that Penny Wong ’s female partner is to have a baby is a cause for private celebration for them. But why are so many people exhorting the rest of us to celebrate as if this were some major milestone in human civilisation? You’d think no politician had ever had a child before. We are supposed to ignore Tony and Margie Abbott’s three daughters because every time he is seen with them it is some sort of unfair snub to Julia Gillard and reflection on her marital status. The traditional heterosexual norm of a nuclear family and children is something to be kept in a closet like an embarrassment. Tolerance has gone back to front. It is no longer good enough to accept without criticism female politicians in de facto or lesbian relationships. Now we have to downplay traditional marriage for fear of causing offence. No one can be a wife or husband any more. Everyone is a “partner”. The unorthodox situation of a lesbian artificially i
