Are people born transgender?

Image
Two recent headlines proclaim, " Transgender people are  born that way , a new study has found," and "Scientists uncover  20 genes  linked to being transgender – supporting claims the condition has a physical basis." What are we to make of this? Before we evaluate these announcements, it's important that we understand that we are not discussing the question of people who are  intersex , referring to those who have a biological or chromosomal abnormality in terms of their sex. By definition, people who are intersex are born that way. It's also important that we remember the many sensational headlines that proclaimed that a gay gene (or the like) had been discovered. Every few years, a new "discovery" would be made about "proving" that people are born gay, only to be replaced by the latest "discovery," none of which proved definitive. Back in February 1992, a  cover story  for  Newsweek  featured the face of an infa

Is Sexual Orientation Immutable? The Science May Surprise You.

Image
One of the most common and effective claims for LGBT rights is that people are born with an immutable, permanent sexual orientation. In our recent dialogue on the Bible and Homosexuality , Matthew Vines argued that the 20th century discovery of sexual orientation is akin to Galileo’s discovery of the telescope. For the first 1,600 years of the church, according to Vines, virtually all Christians believed the earth stood at the center of the universe. But Galileo’s discovery led Christians to reconsider their interpretation. Similarly, the modern discovery of sexual orientation should lead Christians to reinterpret Scriptural prohibitions of same-sex sexual relationships. The idea that sexual orientation is immutable has been proclaimed so frequently, and so loudly, few people have slowed down to ask a simple question: What does the science actually reveal? The answer might surprise you. Science and Sexual Orientation Leading scholars have challenged the “immutability” claim. Bu

Man undergoing third sex change: ‘I hope I will finally be happy’

Image
Brad "Ria" Cooper, who was the UK's youngest "sex change" patient at 15, announced he is undergoing his third "sex change" operation, this time to make himself more like a woman again. This behaviour is still seen by experts as a mental health issue.  Shortly after his 18th birthday, Cooper "transitioned" back to his biological gender and lived as a "gay man." "But five years in Ria is more certain than ever that is not the real her – and is making her second attempt at becoming a woman to have the future she always dreamed of,"  The Mirror  reported.  De- transitioning back to a man "made me even more unhappy,"  Cooper said . "Now I’m going to be me – and I hope I will finally be happy."  Cooper told the UK show  This Morning  that his life went downhill after a documentary about his "transition" was released when he was 18.  "I was really depressed and I was struggling

Canadian PM candidate: Makes ‘no sense’ for gov’t to fund Gay Pride

Image
Conservative leadership candidate Brad Trost stands behind a campaign video that denounces taxpayer funding for “ gay pride ” parades, says spokesman Mike Patton . Patton and Trost were taken aback that the video, which was posted Tuesday, has provoked a backlash and heated debate on social media and radio call-in shows. “We weren’t trying to be particularly controversial,” Patton told LifeSiteNews. Trost is “very clear on these issues always, so he was kind of taken by surprise that people would think he’s homophobic when he’s not.” The video followed Trost’s Monday email pledge to supporters that as Conservative leader he would never march in any “gay pride” parade and that as Prime Minister he would never march in or fund “any ‘gay pride’ event of any kind.” In the one-minute video entitled “Brad’s gay parade float,” Patton reiterates that pledge. “In case you haven’t noticed, Brad’s not entirely comfortable with the whole gay thing,” he begins. “And if you haven’

APA researcher: Gays aren’t ‘born that way’

Image
Lady Gaga Born Gay - now no way! A top researcher with the American Psychological Association (APA) and lesbian activist has acknowledged that gays are not "born that way." Dr. Lisa Diamond , co-editor-in-chief of the APA Handbook of Sexuality and Psychology and one of the APA’s “most respected members," says sexual orientation is "fluid" and not unchangeable. As clinical psychologist Dr. Laura A. Haynes   summarizes   Diamond's APA Handbook chapters, her book and YouTube lectures, "The battle to disprove 'Born that way and can’t change’ is now over, and (Diamond) is telling LGBT activists to stop promoting the myth." Contrary to the typical argument that homosexuals are "born gay" as "who they are" and cannot change, the APA officially recognized sexual orientation change in 2011. Diamond summarized relevant findings in a lecture at Cornell University (2013), stating that abundant research has now es

Studies find LGBT youth more likely to use drugs, smoke, drink, engage in risky behavior

Image
Recent studies show that homosexual youth are far more likely to use drugs, smoke, drink, and engage in risky , violent, and/or self-destructive behavior . Fifteen researchers poured over the U.S. Center for Disease Control 's Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System, which "monitors six categories of priority health-related behaviors among youth and young adults" using school-based surveys. The researchers compared the behavior of homosexuals (and practicing bisexuals) to heterosexual high school youth from September 2014 to December 2015. The "risky behavior" included violence, smoking, alcohol and drug use, "unsafe" sex, poor diet, and physical inactivity. The   conclusion ? "Significant health disparities exist between sexual minority and nonsexual minority youth." In fact, in nearly every category measured, gay, lesbian, and bisexual students were more likely than heterosexual students to engage in self-destructive behavio

Whole Foods sues gay pastor who claimed they put slur on his ‘Love Wins’ cake

Image
Openly homosexual pastor Jordan Brown filed a lawsuit claiming that a Whole Foods in Austin added an anti-gay slur to a cake he ordered. Now, the chain has launched a lawsuit alleging he lied about the whole incident. Brown said he asked for a cake that said "Love Wins," but after he left the store he discovered the cake said "Love Wins Fag." In a lawsuit filed within hours of buying the cake on Monday, Brown said he was seeking damages and monetary relief for   mental anguish, court costs and other expenses . Whole Foods Market quickly produced a surveillance video disputing his story. “Our team member wrote 'Love Wins' at the top of the cake as requested by the guest, and that's exactly how the cake was packaged and sold at the store,” Whole Foods Marketing Field Associate Rachel Malish responded. "Our team members do not accept or design bakery orders that include language or images that are offensive," Malish said.  "

Obama sends homosexual John Berry to Australia who preaches the LGBT agenda

Image
THE US Ambassador to Australia has made an impassioned plea for gay people to come out of the closet , saying it is only by being honest that positive change for LGBTI people will occur. In an, at times, emotional speech to LGBTI business people in Sydney recently, John Berry discussed his father’s struggle to accept him as gay, his prediction that same-sex marriage would be legalised across the US and that his country had now “overtaken” Australia on marriage equality. Berry, who married his partner Curtis Yee in 2013, made the comments at this month’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Association (SGLBA) Long Table Canapés networking event. LGBT talking to LGBT about themselves ignoring God's prohibitions regardless of their position in society.
