What I learned about health, living as a gay man

Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney, Australia. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Last month there was a very public and virile discussion about the connections between living the gay lifestyle and lessened life quality and life expectancy. This has come to the fore due to comments by the Australian Christian Lobby and Sydney Archbishop Peter Jensen on the ABC ’s Q&A. Many Christian folk that I know have surprisingly been ropable about what Wallace and Jensen have said; though neither were being homophobic, the former could have chosen his words better and presented certifiable research in a more loving context. However, their comments undermine one of the core assumptions behind the gay community’s demand for marriage, which is that their lifestyle is as safe and wholesome as heterosexual ones. The research suggests the opposite, and that’s not because society is unaccepting and ‘homophobic’ but because it is intrinsically unhealthy. My own first-hand experience of having sexual rela

No reliable data on homosexual health?

Some health experts say there is no 'reliable' data to justify recent claims by religious figures that gay people are likely to die sooner than the general population, and that the health problems that do exist are a result of continuing discrimination. Whereas the Netherlands which is an a very open and tolerant community to homosexuality is still showing health and suicide problems with homosexuals. Why? Australian Christian Lobby managing director Jim Wallace and Sydney Anglican Archbishop Peter Jensen have both come under fire in recent days for appearing to suggest the "lifestyle" of gay people predisposed them to ill-health. A range of Australia's gay and lesbian health organisations have lined up to criticise the comments, saying Australia's official census and other health data is not collected in a way that would permit such statements to be made with any confidence. But have chosen to criticize any overseas data. Warren Talbot, general man

Genuine health risks to Homosexual lifestyle

Texas sociology professor  Mark Regnerus , found that young-adult children of parents who have had same-sex relationships are more likely to suffer from a range of emotional and social problems etc. This study also was attacked by Homosexual advocates as being bias, incorrect, faulty etc. just like pro-homosexual activists people in the article below. Homosexual lobby approach is to attack,  criticize, label anything that disagrees with their agenda. The media follows suit. ......................................................................................................... THE controversial claims by some Christian leaders that gay men die younger than heterosexual men appear to have originated from flawed US research that was funded by a Christian research group. Sydney 's Anglican Archbishop, Peter Jensen , drew strong criticism for comments on ABC TV's   Q&A  on Monday night that the gay lifestyle led to a "significantly shorter life". He was

PARLIAMENT will once again be embroiled in the issue of gay marriage from today as two private members' bills to legalise such unions are debated in the House of Representatives, with a vote on the bills likely to come after the winter session of Parliament. A report by the House of Representatives social policy and legal affairs committee on the two bills, one from Labor's Stephen Jones and one from the Greens MP Adam Bandt and the independent MP Andrew Wilkie , will also be tabled this morning. The committee's chairman, Labor MP Graham Perrett , said it was the largest committee inquiry ever held, with responses ''pretty strongly in support'' of change. The committee used an online poll to gauge community sentiment, with 276,437 people responding and 64 per cent backing legalisation.  Was anybody aware of this poll, except the hom

Stylish Same Sex Campaign glosses over issues

Rainbow flag. Symbol of gay sin. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) We are in the midst of a sustained and brilliantly orchestrated campaign to radically alter the marriage laws of this country to allow same-sex marriage. Three slogans carry the message: '' marriage equality '', ''marriage won't change'', ''it's inevitable''. Of course, the difficulty with slogans is that they are not arguments and, so, are hard to refute, except by slogans in return. The ''marriage equality'' slogan trades on the commitment of our community to equality. We oppose distinctive traits, such as race, being taken into account when they are irrelevant. Notice the word ''irrelevant''. We may, with justice, make quite acute distinctions between people. For a political party to be allowed to hire someone who shares their political convictions is fair. Likewise, it is perfectly allowable for two men or two women to be pre
