Why Homosexual Rights are NOT human rights

Image
Martin Luther King leaning on a lectern. Deutsch: 1964: Martin Luther King Português: Martin Luther King (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) There is a specter haunting America. It is the movement to promote and legalize homosexual marriage . The movement has adopted a cunning political strategy to appeal to everyone from the suburban soccer mom to the urban white-male liberal: It has packaged its demand for the radicalredefining of marriage in the rhetoric and imagery of the U.S. civil rights movement . This strategy, though utterly cynical and possibly racist, has enormous strategic utility. For what reasonable and fair-minded American would object to a movement that conjures up images of Martin Luther King Jr. along with pacifist marchers facing down unleashed attack dogs and men with fire hoses? In the aftermath of that struggle for racial justice, who today is prepared to risk being branded a bigot for opposing the homosexual’s activist agenda? This strategy is the most brilliant pla

"Gay" baby Jesus billboard outside NZ church enrages community

Image
A new billboard outside of a church in New Zealand is drawing criticism from the local community and the wider Christian population by inferring that the son of God was homosexual. The billboard states that its "time for Jesus to come out." The church, St. Matthew -in-the-City in Auckland , is described on their home page as a progressive Anglican church and posted the advertisement as a way to start a new debate. Their argument is that Jesus might have been gay – a dubious claim that has been met with stern opposition. Notable theologians have repeatedly charged that the Bible is clear over which unions were acceptable in the eyes of Jesus, though. "It is simply undeniable that Jesus assumed heterosexual marriage as God's design and plan … Jesus sees all sexual activity outside this covenant as sinful," Daniel Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary , previously stated during a theological conference. The controversial poster reads

Socialist Uruguay on road to homosexual and transsexual 'marriage'

Image
December 19, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - The Uruguayan Chamber of Deputies overwhelmingly voted last week to approve a bill that would make “marriage” a legal right for homosexual couples and for transsexuals as well, according to local media reports. The text of the bill states that “the institution of matrimony will include the union of two contracting parties, whatever their gender identity or sexual orientation, on the same terms, with equal effects and forms of solution that the Civil Code currently establishes.” President José Mujica . A large number of “conservative” Colorado Party members voted with the dominant socialist Broad Front to pass the legislation with 81 out of 87 members present voting in favor, and 12 members absent. The legislation will now pass to the Senate, where it is also expected to be approved. President José Mujica, also a Broad Front socialist, has already indicated his intention to sign.  If he does so, Uruguay will become the second

Ottawa Catholic School gives course credit for work at gay activist group

OTTAWA, December 19, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – An Ottawa Catholic high school has come under fire for permitting one of its students to earn graduation credits in a co-op opportunity run by homosexual activists. St. Paul’s high school student Kate Forman travels more than an hour each day during school hours to work at  Jer’s Vision , a homosexual organization that seeks to eliminate “homophobia” and “transphobia” in schools and youth communities. She has become the organization’s  “artistic coordinator”. Kate Forman. Faye Estrella, Jer’s Vision manager of conference programming, confirmed to LifeSiteNews.com that Forman is receiving “co-op hours” for time spent with the organization. One pro-family leader expressed outraged in discovering Ottawa’s Catholic Schools catering to homosexual activists. “As a Catholic school, [St. Paul’s] is certainly not adhering to Catholic teaching,” said Gwen Landolt, national vice-president of REAL Women Canada, to LifeSiteNews. “S

SCOTUS and marriage: what we can do

The United States Supreme Court. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) December 17, 2012 ( Breakpoint.org ) - The Supreme Court of the United States has announced that in the coming months, it will consider two cases that deal directly with the definition of marriage. The Court will take up the issue of Proposition 8, in which lower courts invalidated the will of the people of California to legally define marriage as being between one man and one woman. The court will also take up the case of the Defense of Marriage Act (or DOMA), which was passed with bipartisan support in 1996. But in 2011, President Obama instructed the Department of Justice not to defend DOMA in court. What all this means is that, on a legal level, 2013 will be a very important year for the institution of marriage as publicly defined in the United States of America . In fact, many, including Eric Teetsel of the Manhattan Declaration , are calling this the Roe v. Wade of marriage. It’s also, therefore, a very im

After ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ repeal, Senate urged to protect military’s religious freedoms

Image
WASHINGTON, D.C. , December 17, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Religious liber ties activists are calling on the U.S. Senate to amend the Defense Authorization Bill to include language protecting military service members from retribution for their religious beliefs.  Of primary concern is the need to secure protections for chaplains and service members from facing discrimination, investigations and possibly career-ending reprimands in response to deeply held religious convictions pertaining to homosexuality and same-sex “marriage.”  Will military chaplains face repercussions for holding to their moral beliefs on homosexuality and gay "marriage"? Dr. Richard Land says that may already be happening. In September 2011, the U.S. repealed the law known as “Don’t ask, don’t tell,” enabling homosexuals to serve openly in all branches of the military for the first time. Within weeks, the Pentagon issued two memos authorizing same-sex “marriages” to be solemnized on U.

Organizers of French traditional marriage march expect crowds of up to 350,000

Image
December 17, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Organizers of the first nationwide demonstration against same-sex “marriage” in Paris on January 13th say they hope to bring together over 350,000 people. If they succeed, it would make the event one of the most important rallies in the French capital since a giant march in favor of freedom of education in 1984 mobilized over a million people. But controversy has broken out in more traditional quarters against the general tone of the “Manif pour tous,” the “demonstration for all.” “Marriage for all” is the slogan French president François Hollande is using to promote the draft same-sex “marriage” law. With a view to countering media hostility, the demonstration’s leading organizer, humorist and night-bird Frigide Barjot is seeking to tone down any religious or political aspects of the event. She has asked all comers to dress casually in blue, white and pink so as not to appear like traditional Catholic families. All slogans, banners

UK: 58 cross-party MPs oppose same-sex ‘marriage’

Image
LONDON, December 17, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – 58 Members of Parliament, from all three main parties,  have announced  their opposition to the UK coalition government’s plans to institute “gay marriage”. In a letter to the government, the group said they are “united in supporting the institution of marriage defined in law as a union between a man and a woman”. They added that they “recognise the value of a loving and committed relationship,” and “respect civil partnership”. One leading pro-family organization, however, said it will take more than this to stop the determination of the Prime Minister, and that an all-out public rebellion will be required. A rebellion is brewing in David Cameron's Conservative Party, and some insiders worry that gay "marriage" could spell the demise of the party. The group of MPs noted that at the time of the last general election none of the three main parties included a policy of redefining marriage. “It was not contained in a
